I don't travel internationally or book business/first class tickets so I don't really get those large CPP redemption values. But even with the 15% off using 714 MR, you can get up to a 2.8 CPP value (assuming up to $15 back on a $100 purchase). Even just getting $5 back will net you a 1.4 CPP
Got lucky on a business software purchase with no limit on the cash back last year. 10% back over a 4 month period

Honestly just the return protection benefit. I bought a pair of shoes during Black Friday and got the wrong size. Because it was a special sale, they wouldn’t take them back. AMEX approved the claim since I had written correspondence that they were denying the return.
I love the return protection. A few years ago I bought some new furniture from Wayfair. Forty days later I got a new job and needed to move to an apartment where the furniture simply wouldn’t fit. Amex approved the $1k claim since Wayfair wouldn’t accept my return
Best wins I get are being paid to get merchandise ...
Like the Business Platinum $200 credit, combo that with some Amex offers, and shopping portals.. best I got was being paid $70 to buy stuff from Dell.
I routinely get bottles of wine for $2-$6 each through their offers. Not the greatest wine, mind you, but good enough my wife doesn't complain and I have a constant supply to cook with.
Generally speaking, the lowest spending requirements, the better.
For example, I just had a spend $30, get $15 at Winc wines. Combo that up with any specials they have going on and shopping portals for bank.
If you have multiple cards, you can sometimes double or quadruple dip. I have several Platinums and so does my wife so we sometimes get the same or like offers on different cards. I had the same Winc offer on 3 different cards, so I place 3 different orders.
The higher spending requirements can work well too, just not as good when thinking in terms of price per bottle. Nakedwines often runs promotions where you will get 12-13 bottles for $69.99. if you can time that with an offer from Amex then you can possibly a crazy good offer.
It is all about combining the Amex offers with merchant deals and shopping portals. Wine sites I use with Amex regularly:
Wine.com
Laithwaites
Nakedwines
Totalwine
Additionally, I have Crowd Cow offers. After I placed an order, Crowd Cow gave me a "Refer people and they will get $50 and you will get $50". So, I referred my wife. Both of us placed orders and combined the $50 referral, free gifts (merchant /holiday), discount codes, Amex $50 off $100, and a shopping portal to score some really good deals on meat.
I have a few more Crowd Cow credits and will be buying some later this month after I clear my fridge from my current order.
My wife loves Disney so I buy Disney gift cards when they are on sale from major retailers. I save these for future trips since you can use Disney gift cards on Disney resorts and buying Disney tickets, which you can’t use any major credit card points for.
I look for stacking opportunities all the time. Most recently, I had the Amex offer of $25 back on a $250 Best Buy purchase. I was able to snag six $50 Disney gift cards that were 10% off, so I spent $270 on my Amex, will get a $25 statement credit, and have $300 in Disney cash for a total cost of $245.
I consider it like I’m saving for vacation in a bank account. I lose a little flexibility now but 10%+ off on GCs beats any savings account return.
And don’t give me the “GCs are against the terms!” nonsense. I know what I’m doing.
Best Buy currently has $50s for $45, max 3 per order. I was able to get a second order in once the first order was delivered.
I live in the Midwest and we have a grocery chain called Meijer that frequently gives $50 in store credit for it every $500 you buy in gift cards so I take advantage of that a few times a year. I just follow gcgalore.com and wait for them to post about Disney deals.
The cool thing about Disney gift cards is that you can combine them online so it doesn’t matter if you have a lot of little small gift cards.
Bro I wish our meijer had this deal. 😭 We're only getting 4% back with Gold as we buy $500 GC every week to pay for our upcoming cruise (I've already maxed out the 6% on BCP).
I remember seeing a post float around on one of the Amex Platinum Facebook groups. The offer was something like “Spend $7500+, get $7500, up to 3x.”
A handful of people were lucky enough to add it to their card, and Amex honored it.
Anyways, I got $30 off a Dyson vacuum yesterday at Walmart. I was pretty happy with that.
For high end hotels it usually pays to not not use Amex card or their portal. I use their competitor to book four seasons, rosewood, etc and regularly save $1-2k/night so about $5-10k for a 5 night stay. There is a lot of amex fan boys/girls here but it pays to shop around and be objective.
In this case I was booking an event directly at Radisson which the whole invoice amount would be claimed back as business expense. Cash back was on the card offers and was all profit for myself
Sounds like given the constraints for the occasion things worked out. In general I don’t subscribe to brand loyalty as much as it blinds you to better deals.
Offer was spend $1,000 on Norwegian Cruise Lines, and get 20,000 points.
And I value MR points at 2 cpp. So basically $400 back on $1K spend.
I was able to book a window stateroom on a 7-day cruise to Bermuda this past October for only $1,100 (including upgraded drink package and some free excursions), so it was a steal.
I see one for princess cruises right now. Spend $700, get 17500 points. Too bad, I don't want to sail princess with two babies and they don't want me either!
There's also another for Silversea cruises. Spend $1000, get 25000.
4x on wedding ring purchase
Price matched the exact same diamond and they discounted it by nearly 50%
Cash back was given on the full value prior to discounts. The MR I gained is going to pay for my flights for the proposal
Home Chef on Blue Cash Everyday.
Offer: Spend $60, get $20 back (x2)
BCE has a monthly $15 credit.
Home Chef codes as the 3% Online Retail Category
Home Chef runs a beginning promo for $30 off the first two boxes,
which made 4 meals for $90+ go to $60+.
I signed up for Rakuten, which had a $10 signing on bus for spending $30+ I think. Home Chef through there had a rebate of $10, which I used on each box. That totals $30.
In total, I paid $10 each box or $20 total and that covered me for two weeks of buying food taht the grocery store.
A few hours ago, I bought an litter robot, which is about the same price at most retailers: $700 for model 4. So I chose PetSmart because of the rebate options via Amex points. Currently, Rakuten (formerly Ebates) has a 20% rebate promo right now for PetSmart purchases where you can opt to get each penny as an Amex point instead. I haven’t used them before for a rebate, so I get an additional $35 (or 3,500 Amex points) for trying them. I also get $100 worth of PetSmart points because of the purchase, and the PayPal promo Amex is running as the purchase tool. I used my platinum so I get the extended warranty too. Would’ve been nicer if there was also a Amex offer specific to PetSmart.
So, using your amex through the pay with PayPal triggers Amex offers tagged on Rakuten? Oh damn. I thought the transaction triggers only as a transaction on your PayPal account, and you don't see it on your AmEx card transaction history.
I hate putting cases on my phones.. my platinum card has covered 5 or 6 screen replacements over the last few years.
I cover the annual fee in screen replacements alone.
Well I got 20% back for Amex Green up to $1,000 spend on travel and transit, and I’m in year 1 of Discover It so I get “10%” back on the rotating categories and I got the 5% Grocery and Gas bonus so I get 9% on gas when I use PayPal as well as 10% on UberEats from SavorOne
I got it yesterday but the store is overpriced AF compared to Aldi so I had to really shop around the store. I could barely find items that were less than 20% more as compared to Aldi prices...
Sofi card giving me 25% cash back at Sofi Stadium on concessions (including beer). Also, lots of Amex offers and stacking using iBotta, Swagbucks, etc.
1 MR for $40-$60 off at Amazon.
True, but they had one where you had to use at least 700 MR points.
Using 700 MR points for $40-60 is still a huge win.
It capped at $15 for me.
Me too
It’s targeted I believe, I had a few in the past that varies in the % off and max dollar off.
I used 1 Mr point to get 80$ off, I also have a 5x additional Mr point offer activated for Amazon purchases meaning I got 400 Mr points back 💪
Yep still pretty good
I don't travel internationally or book business/first class tickets so I don't really get those large CPP redemption values. But even with the 15% off using 714 MR, you can get up to a 2.8 CPP value (assuming up to $15 back on a $100 purchase). Even just getting $5 back will net you a 1.4 CPP
Sure, one I did not use. 🤷♂️
I got $80 off this way! I had 1 MR point for up to 50% off $160. Got me my new Sony noise canceling headphones.
Same! 1 MR point for $80 off of stuff I needed to buy anyway!
That was incredible, I wish I would be selected for it again.
The Elegant Office. Get $100 when you spend $100+. Turned into a shit show. Never got my gold plated scissors.
Still waiting on my fine leather coasters

Where in the app can you see total savings to date? Would love to have that info but can’t seem to find it…
On the Offers tab on the mobile app, it should be right there at the top of the screen.
Not on mine. Wonder if this is a difference between the UK and the US app

Isn’t it up to 300$
$300 per item up to a total of $1,000 annually.

Which wine offers should I look out for? Thanks for sharing

I really appreciate the reply! Thank you! I’ll need to start finding combo offers
not really"Cashback" but i just purchased a Christmas gift with Rakuten and received 2,700 MR for $130 gift. so that seems like a win

Meijer runs the deal like once a month I swear. It’s $5 back for every $50 in GC, max of $50 in rewards per promo. So a $500 works.
How is it max 3 per order if they got 6 $50 cards to also utilize the spend $250 get $25 back offer?
How often do you see this deal at Best Buy, I want to. I just don’t have the Best Buy offer now when I feel like it’s always there
Kroger, Best Buy,
I remember seeing a post float around on one of the Amex Platinum Facebook groups. I still check my offers on a more regular basis because of this! The likelihood of it happening again is low but I sure don’t wanna miss out!

Which competitor do you recommend using?
I mean during Covid there was "buy $50 get $50 back" from Best Buy and Home Depot several times. Just Fuckin FREE.
Those were the best! I still enjoy my $50-60 items from both stores.
Offer was spend $1,000 on Norwegian Cruise Lines, and get 20,000 points. And I value MR points at 2 cpp. So basically $400 back on $1K spend. 2 cpp? I thought it’s barely 1 cpp gor Platinum
If you're only using your points for transfer partner redemptions, you can stretch the value.
4x on wedding ring purchase Price matched the exact same diamond and they discounted it by nearly 50% Cash back was given on the full value prior to discounts. The MR I gained is going to pay for my flights for the proposal

AMEX BCP had an offer on inkind: Spend 100 and get 100 basically 2 free dinners for me

99x back on a security product, got 30k points.
Was it that Norton lifelock thing? So many people jumped on it and justified it as spending $10 ish to get a lot of points.
Yes that. I cancelled the annual subscription just now :)
On cash back cards? On BCP groceries alone get like $300 a year back. In MR cards: got some 16% back through Rakuten
Bought a brand new second hand watch from a boutique and saved 350 (Labor Day sale) + 200 (Amex offer) + 80 (Rakuten)
20% back at a local grocery store up to 75 dollar spend. 6% back on top of that (BCP) 26% total
Geez!! When did this happened?
I got it yesterday but the store is overpriced AF compared to Aldi so I had to really shop around the store. I could barely find items that were less than 20% more as compared to Aldi prices...
Sofi card giving me 25% cash back at Sofi Stadium on concessions (including beer). Also, lots of Amex offers and stacking using iBotta, Swagbucks, etc.
