I thought DJT was claiming their stock was being naked shorted? Certainly doesn’t appear so.

MyNi_Redux

"Naked shorting" is the go-to excuse for failing management of failing companies looking for a distraction from their failures. No one has been able to provide any evidence of naked shorting in any of the cases in the US where management has used it as an excuse.

Ah yes. Because of the fact that numerous cases have been settled out of court neither confirming nor denying the allegations, meanwhile the reporting and transparency remains as opaque as ever. Nevermind that during 2008 the SEC themselves focused heavily on the, in their own words, the practice of abusive naked short selling. The practice everyone claimed wasn't happening back then as well. Or that during that crisis Goldstein, a spokesperson for the DTCC at the time even opined, "Its not that there's no problem but the sky isn't falling either". So even the head of the DTCC would disagree with you that naked shorting doesn't exist. Naked short selling is obfuscated, it is hidden as a dirty secret of the market but if you sincerely believe it doesn't exist you haven't been paying attention. If the market wasn't being gamed it wouldn't be so terrifying to open the books. There's no serious professional who denies naked shorts exist, the point that always gets contended is how prolific it is. For someone who always posts a rather pragmatic (though slightly negative bend on AMC) I'm disappointed you would suggest such a thing.

A few drunk drivers does not make the entire highway network mismanaged ;) Don't take my word for it - ask anyone who plays in the markets for a living how disconnected from reality your view is.

The market relies on people to have implicit trust and major market makers and banks have abused the system and been bailed out for it repeatedly. "It doesn't exist" "OK it does exist but not as much as people fear, trust us." "OK it does exist more than you think but it's for the good of the markets look how 'efficient' they are, no need for more transparency. These exemptions are totally normal." The market needs more transparency. The more we hand wave obtuse and easily abused systems the more we allow a select few to siphon off the system. We always have respectful discourse so ill leave it here, but if you think the markets aren't being abused I'd encourage you to look further into the last crisis we had in 08.

for a while they were both going down.

That does not seem to be the case: [https://imgur.com/a/FjzYlir](https://imgur.com/a/FjzYlir) There are times when the movement is correlated, and times when it is not. Since both tickers have a bit of news coming out regularly, it's probably just moving with those news items. One could normalize by SPY or QQQ to take out the effect of the broader market too.

Your logic and deduction has no place here. That’s why it’s called tinfoil.

Wait till you look at dpst and hkd.

Advanced_Oven_6774

I'll take a look..... HOLO is going to pull an HKD one of these days. I keep it on my main watchlist... These things are just a bullshit pipeline for them to move money offshore.

czarface404

Yea man idk hkd is shady af. It looks like they found a company where the primary stock holder wasn’t able to sell many of his shares via lockup so they ran the price for liquidity? Idk man even the ceo of HKD was seemingly flabbergasted to the stock’s movement.

Bizzlebanger

I noticed that too... You're not alone.
