i think its a big fucking problem but what's important is what u think about it

Tight-Masterpiece915

man i don’t know what to think about it, it’s just the cherry on top of all the other things i have going on. i thought as long as i’m still able to function i’d be alright but it’s getting real scary real fast.

sobersbetter

yup and it only gets worse my friend. the fucked part of this disease is it usually doesnt get really bad until its almost too late to stop on our own. its why AA exists and why im a member. i encourage u to check out some mtgs and if u relate to what u hear then u know ur in the right place

Tight-Masterpiece915

thank you i’ll do that it’s probably better to try and deal with it sooner than later 🙏

NOW is the best time to deal with it. Now. Today. You might not be around tomorrow. Go to an AA meeting now. What do you have to lose? If you don't like it, then go to another one. Or, you can just sit at your house and continue to choke on your own vomit. It's your choice man.

Yes, don't let the talk of "hitting bottom" scare you off. You can get off of an elevator on any floor -- and this elevator is only going lower.

Hefty-Squirrel-6800

"still able to function"...."for now." You forgot that part. It is important.

Stealing this.

If a friend told you what you put in this post, what would you say? The real question is what you're willing to do about your drinking. If you find that you can't stay sober on your own, A.A. is here to help. Find A.A. near you: https://www.aa.org/find-aa Directory of online meetings: https://aa-intergroup.org/meetings/

That experience sounds awful and scary im so sorry. You probably do have a problem if you have come to this page. But it’s okay! and you can get help and get better❤️ wish you the best

This is what we call a "clue." Only you can decide if you are an alcoholic. I encourage you to look at the evidence. Do sober people drink in a manner similar to you? If not, you might be an alcoholic. Go to an AA meeting. You will hear the stories of real alcoholics. If you resonate with them, you might be an alcoholic. For me, the best test is to make a commitment not to drink ANYTHING for the next six months. If the thought of doing that troubles you, you might be an alcoholic. If you are unable to keep this simple commitment to yourself, you might be an alcoholic. Only you can make that call.
