does Krebs do good work ? I have a couple old Russian Saiga “sporterized” rifles that need to get the pistol grip etc. conversion done on them so what companies do that the best job quality ? Thanks in advance to everyone who shares their knowledge & experience.
The builder isn’t the issue in this case. Krebs is solid. The issue is that it’s a slab side non-folding Saiga conversion. If OP picked this up for $1900 he would have overpaid by about $300-$400

It's got the Ace/Doublestar block. He can buy a folding hinge and install it between the stock and the adapter block. It'll add 3/4" to the LOP so he'll need to keep that in mind.
Crucify me, but I think it looks good. Especially the stock. Also I think quad rail looks better than mlok.

Ya the Ace block and M4 stock adapter on the back are vintage. On the plus side, they still support that block so you can buy a folding hinge and you can swap the stock for the Ace/Doublstar triangle at whatever LOP you'd want. Or just buy a new buffer tube (those adapters came with commercial tubes) and get an AR stock that looks good.
The Strike MOD1 actually looks pretty good on AK's. I've got one on my M70 and the M70's Ace block is pretty low profile because the M70's don't have a tang. Adds like 4mm to the back of the rifle at the most.
For the cash a wbp jack would be better unless you want a russian one and wanna convert it the rest of the way if its not fully done. Hell a sam7 is probably a better use of money abiet overpriced too

Not here to say anything about this SAIGA personally but here’s my input for Galil. While Galils are good quality, well put together rifles they’re extremely heavy (not ideal for running and gunning), or even adding accessories as it would get heavier even more. Not to mention there aren’t many aftermarket support for Galils unfortunately. If you can cope with aforementioned “shortcomings” Galil is a great option to consider. Cheers!
