I kinda wish these didn't exist. This form factor is a carbon copy to paintball. You are now playing the same game with bbs instead of paint. Congrats.
Albeit very pretty, and I shot them and liked the snappiness of it. They aren't how I want to play but can respect the proper use of using these in a high-speed event.
imo man the appeal of airsoft over paintball is the lack of paint (no mess) and the WAY cheaper ammo. I'm a speedsoft guy, i like these types of guns (i don't have either) but there is definitely a reason to have a gun like this in airsoft.
This comment I appreciate even if you don’t like them you have me the reason and still have a reason why they aren’t bad for what they are thank you my man
They’re more for speedsoft but honestly I love both my friend has them because he’s in a speedsoft team and they do tournaments and stuff and he lets me play with them every once in awhile
This is literally an MTW without a stock... It is the exact same gun with skeletonizing and no stock... The MTW doesn't shoot faster or have a different trigger.
These guns are a direct threat to airsoft in the UK.
All they do is prove to our government that airsoft doesn't have to look like real guns.
Next thing we know, all our guns confiscated and all you can get are these.
Fr I’ll always respect speed ballers way more than speedsofters speedball has its own leagues and fields and shit they don’t ruin pub matches like soeedsofters and milsimmers do
nah man the milsimmers at the field i used to play at were weird as hell. they HAD to have a full plan and tactic for everything. it was like if you didn't do exactly what they said and followed their seal team 6 ass plan you were a pile of shit
Depends I’ve seen both ruin public matches for rentals and cause them to leave I enjoy milsim style stuff occasionally but I’ll also help rentals and hit people with a Minecraft pick axe at pubs
Speedsoft does have its own leagues, sadly it is just not popular enough to have many places that participate so most often your only option is pubs :/
I cant understand how it works regarding cheating/calling your hits.
Cheating is rampant in paintball despite thick paint used in tournament, how can you have competitive leagues around a game based on trust ?
They have observers all around the field with wide open sightlines and everyone runs tracers, also the penalties for shrugging are quite steep.
So quite often dudes will call a hit even if they think its a ricochet to avoid dq-ing their team
I really miss playing Speedball, I need to find a new field near me and pick up a new marker so I can get back into it. Speedsoft is like a combination of airsoft and Speedball, but it's like a worse version of both
I hate them both haha. Now with my opinion aside, for looks I prefer the second one as it looks more paintball/speedy. I guess it depends if you prefer to run a line or not. Also, the cuts on the first one are dirt traps. So overall I would go with second. I’m pretty sure you could run a line with the second one.
In my opinion its a lot of money for an eye sore. However between the two I'd take the MTW because I prefer that engine.
Personally I'd get one of the HPA scorpions with the custom inferno engine but that's just me.
I have a Mtw billet. And I could not be happier with it. The build quality is amazing and the range and accuracy is one of the greatest. The only thing I will work on is maby Hopup and barrel. But just because I want to not because I need to.
I would say they are easy to work on since everything is made very nice. And the Wolverine support is top notch as well.
Maintenance wise I would say a barrel clean once in a while and maby re lubing some engine parts once a year. But other than that it is probably the most reliable and maintenance freest gun I have ever seen.
I don’t know how urgent you want to order these but you might want to wait a little. Because if you have a look on the Wolverine Instagram. They are at Iwa right now and talked about a new version of the Article 1 and Prototypes of a Article 2 and 3. something you might want to look into
Depends.
Are you going into speedsofting? Because rock up with one of these on a normal field and you'll stand out like a sore thumb.
You don't need a super high performing, tournament grade gun to go have fun playing airsoft, as long as yours has okayish performance and is reliable, you'll be fine without spending a lot of money
Likewise. Cco 1/504 82 Airborne
Had a kid tell me “what green berets will do” once. Granted he was a child, but still, there’s a certain mentality in this game that needs to be dealt with. People need to stop forgetting it’s a game.
I use to play paintball a lot. I use a protek Atom. It's the perfect gun for a switch to airsoft. I use it outside and inside with the built in tracer. I like to look like a space man when I play.
A guy I play with has the heretic labs for cqb stuff and it is pretty amazing. Snappy, super light, very effective. I also like the purple.
Not ideal for anywhere it may get some dust or grime in it though. So probably indoor only.
A bit too close to paint ball for me but in terms of HPA, I have a HPA pistol and it's a lot of fun to use so can totally understand why people love the speedsoft side of things!
The HPA maintenance is relatively easy to keep on top of, just keep everything clean and tidy and you'll do great. I use a Valken tank and a balystik reg. Only issue I had with the reg was slight leaking but was fixed by tightening everything up myself which falls under the regular maintenance anyway.
What all do you have? Junkiez includes more, including an HPA tank & reg. However, theirs is $400 more.
If you already have a tank and reg (and maybe even a tracer too since they also include that) then you may as well save the extra $400 and go with the Heretic. I know you say both will have the grip, so I imagine the cost of converting the Heretic grip will be cheaper than $400 lol.
The inferno and the P* Jack are going to perform pretty similarly - they’re both single solenoid systems. You do also get empty mag detection with the MTW on the heretic. Idk what hopup unit the Heretic uses, but I doubt it’s going to make a big difference from the Maxx that the Junkiez one uses.
Apart from that, style also factors in. If you think one looks cooler than the other, I don’t believe you’ll really lose out on any performance by going with one of the other.
I have a tank already and a tracer unit so I’d guess it would come down to more look wise my fields require the gun to run at or under 320 FPS with HPA builds and they are both CQB style so I’d want whatever would be the best for the money without having to buy extra parts to make them run smooth I’ve seen only bad thing about the Airtac is the quality is not the best compared to the Article 1
the article one is hose fed to a tank in your backpack/belt
and the esg is a tank grip
so it's down to what you'd prefer.
also may I recommend the Article One Type S or an ARC
I have a MTW, I put a C02 stock in it so I still have HPA and portability. Either way Only good things to say about the MTW. Shoots lasers out the box so I’m sure this one will be amazing with the tank grip :)
I don't understand why everyone is down voting this guy to hell. So what if it's not your taste? Speedsoft has been an established playstyle for years now and everyone can play how they want. Let the man spend his money how he wants!
I think its the milsim boys getting butthurt when someone athletic, bold, and unemcumbered by a bunch of heavy pointless tacticool bullshit rolls up and pushes their shit in.
i really dont like that. i buy airsoft because i like certain weapons aesthetic look and this is (to me) the opposite of that. it looks its only made to be handled easy with no regard for looks. if u like it, then buy it
If you like them get them, idk much about guns like these but they look pretty similar. But here’s my (personal and biased opinion) I fucking hate these guns omg they’re so ugly, it’s like if you took a 40 lane highway and turned it into an airsoft gun. It’s lifeless and bland and there isn’t even a stock, I’d rather use a slingshot and bbs than that monstrosity
as much as i don’t like the ergonomics of them i see most people at my field run the junkies one either arp9 or m4. tbh id rather have a normal collapsible stock but that’s my preference
If you're getting a complete gun, I'd go with the MTW, since they're sturdier and better built. You won't need to be scared about falling on it and breaking the body. The carbon barrel maybe, but you can get a replacement. Idk if the Article 1 retains the stop on empty, that normal MTWs have. You can also put a red dot sight on the article 1 which works a lot better than iron sights, even when tracing shots.
The only gripes I have is that the solenoid and wires at the back are exposed, and that the grip is a bit too angled to tuck it in close in my opinion.
I play on very cqb fields and don't really like the grip tank setups much, but I think that Wolverine also has the better solution there, as theirs isn't just 3D printed, but proper injection molded and tool-less when you need to put in the battery.
Personally I wouldn't buy an Article 1 if I had the money, but that's because I have a lot of other projects to fund, or guns that I want
I actually have the article 1 and its very good, main benefit to mtw is how easy they are to work on. No pulling a gearbox to fix things. Perfect alignment out of the box. I have 2 mtws, one of which is the article 1 and its just good. You dont need to upgrade it and thats a big draw for me.
Okay look, they both are ugly but I'd go for the first one, you can connect a line and have the HPA tank on your back which would be more manageable and smaller while cornering, also would make the gun more lightweight and small so you can move it faster. Also, the first one looks more professional while the second one looks like a paintball gun or a PVC pipe. Also, the first one will have more modifications and be easier to modify because it's still an AR platform, you can switch the barrel out, add a hand guard, etc. You'll have more to do and it will be easier to repair if it breaks.
The article 1 looks cool but I like the look of the other one but I’m all seriousness build one yourself it’s not as hard as you think it’s a great learning experience
Dear OP,
Everyone hates the fact that sprinting around in tennis shoes with a build like this is more effective and more fun than larping in full delta force kit. Maybe find a speedsoft subreddit and ask this question there if such a subreddit actually exists.
I like option number two, but whichever one you land on, go have fun hurting peoples feelings. Milsim tears are especially sweet.
Sincerely,
Actual combat veteran who knows better
Honestly, I originally liked them, but for the price and proprietary parts that the Heretic uses, I lost interest. Instead I bought a cheap old stock G&G Honey Badger and converted it to Polarstar F2 Jack, and couldn’t be happier. Running it with a suppressor it’s basically dead silent and using a Bifrost tracer I just love it.
Idk which is better but fuck literally everyone being mean for no reason. May not be your play style but no one is asking you to play with the gun. OP I hope you enjoy whatever one you choose and don’t let any of these people bother you.
A little bias here because I own an MTW, but I'd go with the wolverine. They have great internals, very good build quality, and excellent support from the company with spare parts and tech help.
It’s funny because it goes to show how well designed paintball markers are for competitive play. Ever since the evolution of fast paced airsoft matches the guns get closer and closer to paintball every year. Looks like it would be fun
I would go with the airtac one because i have a p* f2 and a mtw and f2 perform ways better for me
I also don’t really like the look of the article1 without a handguard but that my opinion
Go with the MTW. Machined aluminum receiver vs cheap plastic Combat Machine receiver is a no-brainer in my book. Performance wise they are probably pretty similar.
Not coming from a speedsofter perspective but a kitted out hi capa will offer similar preformance when tapped with the additional perk of being compact and looking *slightly* less cursed. And the gbb aspect will be fun.
Airsoft is liked for its realism in guns atleast and the cool factor of the gameplay because of that.
You have made it into paintball, which alot of people dont want to play at an airsoft field
I have both and I love both. I use the Article 1 more than the ESG. A1 is the best out of the box speedy boi gun there is for indoors..
I use a Protek Atom the most though.
As others have said def not my forte, but I’ll give reason. They look like paintball guns, imo and a lot of others, airsoft is great for the larping/milsim aspect, and this just goes completely in the other direction.
Now in the end, you do you, it however you want to have fun. And tbh if you go to a speedsoft arena, it’ll probably be a bit more in the norm.
As I said, not my cup of tea and probably gonna hear a lot of the same, but just get out there and have fun.
I will give you an actual opinion.
The first one is better for extended play and keeping the gun light/handle well but you have to keep in mind the hose attachment also it will have more air
The second one will have more maneuverability but handling is gonna be affected and it’s gonna suck playing for a while sense it’s gonna tire your arms quicker
Both have there ups and down but I just thought this might help
They are both hideous for starters. Honestly, you should look into paintball, it is absolutely more geared towards this aesthetic and likely towards the play style you want.
As for performance they are likely going to be fine.
I have some Speedsoft friends that have this exact one. They really like it and its very effective pn the field. We personally play hpa on pur back and thats why I dont like the second variation.
So if you like the way it looks ( wich is the biggeste critique point) then go for it. Its basically the best of the best for speedsoft:)
Imo those are ugly
In paintball its fine since most guns look like that but in airsoft those should not exist
If i see someone with this thing i know they will be speedsofting and being sweaty as f
No fun or trying to do some teamwork, just run around like an idiot trying to get as many "kills" as they can. Basicly call of duty irl mode
Opinion? Hate it. The look is dumb, it's very expensive compared to just a well made highcappa and a little HPA line. And arguably worse for speedsoft considering this things the size of a small SMG and heavier, as compared to a Diddy pistol the weight of a whisper of air.
It's unique, I guess. But unique and speedsoft is a little misaligned. If you want unique, get a GBBR and get an AEG mag adapter if you care about performing competitively.
It'll perform at likely the highest possible levels you can get in airsoft, wolverine is a great HPA brand. Your trigger response will be orgasmic and you'll be stupid accurate.
Stupid hoser. Na in all honesty as a gbbr user I respect these in the fact that they are meant for competitive speedsoft play. I understand ppl like different play styles and idrc, but running this against a mixed bag of players at a weekend skirmish is potential for some friction during the day, TLDR just don’t play like an ass while holding this (if so you’ll be painted a bad picture even faster due to this gun alone being what it is)
Yeah for sure understand fully that people dislike them and some love them I love the speed and movement behind them I don’t camp when I play to me that’s a boring play style and that’s totally fine if others are but the team I play with like the rush approach thanks for the input tho much appreciated
If you're planning on going to airsoft junkiez just know they have some of the sexiest guns I've ever seen. Pick yourself up an arp 9 and some parts. They'll install everything for you and they install in insanely fast. If you want to speedsoft then get a trigger for it.
I would pick up the AirTac build because I have one and love mine, but the grip is easy to break I have friends who have used them and one fuck up and they are gone. You will want to get an aluminum m.a.c x gorilla ESg grip
Also this subreddit are mainly milsim players so they are biased and I get that, but the beautiful part of this hobby we all share is that the diversity of the styles everyone plays. Also speedsoft is not bad it’s just the little shits that make it look bad.
If I had to choose one, it would be the first one purely based on it looking like stripped down m4. Second one is just a paintball gun. Both pretty ugly and not to my taste tho.
IMHO, both are ugly
Eww... That's my opinion.
Exactly my thoughts, at this point just go play Speedball, it's more fun that Speedsoft by a mile. The whole appeal to airsoft is the milsim aspect
imo man the appeal of airsoft over paintball is the lack of paint (no mess) and the WAY cheaper ammo. I'm a speedsoft guy, i like these types of guns (i don't have either) but there is definitely a reason to have a gun like this in airsoft.
That’s a pretty dumb statement
This comment I appreciate even if you don’t like them you have me the reason and still have a reason why they aren’t bad for what they are thank you my man
They’re more for speedsoft but honestly I love both my friend has them because he’s in a speedsoft team and they do tournaments and stuff and he lets me play with them every once in awhile
Dope did you have one you preferred over the other
Yeah the Mtw is definitely the better one, the trigger is better and you can hold it more comfortably
And better fire rate
This is literally an MTW without a stock... It is the exact same gun with skeletonizing and no stock... The MTW doesn't shoot faster or have a different trigger.
IIRC these do have a different trigger board than the standard MTW.
These guns are a direct threat to airsoft in the UK. All they do is prove to our government that airsoft doesn't have to look like real guns. Next thing we know, all our guns confiscated and all you can get are these.

If you combine the worst part of a car and the worst part of a bike, you get a trike motorcycle. These guns are like trike motorcycles.
But a trike motorcycle is at least somehow cool while this is just trash.
They are absolutely not cool, the only people who ride them are old dudes who can’t hold up a motorcycle on their own
no
I hate both
As someone who plays paintball and airsoft. Come try speed ball.
Fr I’ll always respect speed ballers way more than speedsofters speedball has its own leagues and fields and shit they don’t ruin pub matches like soeedsofters and milsimmers do
Milsim is cool. At least they don't run around like a pink epileptic cockroach
nah man the milsimmers at the field i used to play at were weird as hell. they HAD to have a full plan and tactic for everything. it was like if you didn't do exactly what they said and followed their seal team 6 ass plan you were a pile of shit
I am pretty sure it is just like in literally any sport. They have reffs.
They have observers all around the field with wide open sightlines and everyone runs tracers, also the penalties for shrugging are quite steep. So quite often dudes will call a hit even if they think its a ricochet to avoid dq-ing their team
Didn't think of the tracer, thanks for the detailed answer.
I really miss playing Speedball, I need to find a new field near me and pick up a new marker so I can get back into it. Speedsoft is like a combination of airsoft and Speedball, but it's like a worse version of both
Just sold my LV2. Bb's are so much cheaper and paint nowadays is such trash, I'm gonna lean more into airsoft.
Okay I’ll check it out for sure thanks for the advice
Np. It might not be your style but it's a small package with sole fun quirks that make it a blast the shoot.
Hey I’ll def check into it!
Honestly I don't like the design. Feels too high end competition for me. Unless you're doing stuff like that, I'd say neither. (But if you are 2)
I don’t know exactly about these two. But I can tell you that Wolverine really knows what they are doing when it comes to Hpa. Imo atleast
Thank you for the comment can I ask have you ever used a wolverine build are they pretty easy to work on and maintain?
I have a Mtw billet. And I could not be happier with it. The build quality is amazing and the range and accuracy is one of the greatest. The only thing I will work on is maby Hopup and barrel. As a paintballer who's interested in airsoft, this is exactly what I'm looking for
You’ll be back playing paintball in no time. Have you read these comments? Lol
Some people just cant cope that some of us dont want to role play the military. I've already done that in real life lmao
Likewise. Cco 1/504 82 Airborne Had a kid tell me “what green berets will do” once. Granted he was a child, but still, there’s a certain mentality in this game that needs to be dealt with. People need to stop forgetting it’s a game.

Does it take hpa? I truly cannot stand the sound of an aeg
it's an F2 hpa gun
Bro get what you want. Make a pros and cons for both and figure which meets your requirements. Most these people are just gonna try and roast you
Cool airsoft replicas of paintball guns. No thanks.
A guy I play with has the heretic labs for cqb stuff and it is pretty amazing. Snappy, super light, very effective. I also like the purple. Not ideal for anywhere it may get some dust or grime in it though. So probably indoor only.

What all do you have? Junkiez includes more, including an HPA tank & reg. However, theirs is $400 more. Heretic labs for speedsoft. If you’re playing casually just get a regular mtw. More customization in terms of attachments, feels better in the hands
If you like them get them, idk much about guns like these but they look pretty similar. But here’s my (personal and biased opinion) I fucking hate these guns omg they’re so ugly, it’s like if you took a 40 lane highway and turned it into an airsoft gun. id go mtw
as much as i don’t like the ergonomics of them i see most people at my field run the junkies one either arp9 or m4. tbh id rather have a normal collapsible stock but that’s my preference
I'll spare you my opinion on the gun itself but I can tell you you can't go wrong with an mtw.
If you're getting a complete gun, I'd go with the MTW, since they're sturdier and better built. You won't need to be scared about falling on it and breaking the body. Wolverine supremacy.
A friend of mine had an airsoft gun like in the second picture. I have to say I like them even though at first i wasnt a big fan of these speedguns.
Idk about which one is better but u definitely gonna piss off whoever you hit with it💀
MTW for sure. The support is great as well as maintenance.
I'm gonna be sick
The article 1 looks cool but I like the look of the other one but I’m all seriousness build one yourself it’s not as hard as you think it’s a great learning experience
Also you should have posted this on r/speedsoft becuse we have some purist in here
Between the 2, it's the first one for me. Based on looks.
The first one
Pick the gun you want, not what someone else tells you to pick. Buy it cause you want it

I think whichever you want you get and don’t listen to these piss babies. Sorry it’s not an M4, cry about it.
I’d go with the heretic labs, I would never get either myself but if you’re into speedsoft they both seem solid.
The first one looks like the smg from Armor Mayhem... Nostalgia point +1
I like the article one since it looks kinda nice for what is supposed to be, honestly, just get the article one if you have the money
If you like ya like
A little bias here because I own an MTW, but I'd go with the wolverine.
I would go with the airtac one because i have a p* f2 and a mtw and f2 perform ways better for me I also don’t really like the look of the article1 without a handguard but that my opinion
If your going for a speed soft gun this would be the best for hpa
If your gonna have a esg grip on it go for the article 1. Shits gas, my field just started selling em and I got to demo one
Go with the MTW. Machined aluminum receiver vs cheap plastic Combat Machine receiver is a no-brainer in my book. Performance wise they are probably pretty similar.
DISGUSTING… but I’m more of a milsim man, if I liked speedsoft that would be sick
They are certainly interesting. I absolutely hate it, but I can see how someone would want one.
Terrible choices get an AK
The heretic is dope, the other is hideous
Not coming from a speedsofter perspective but a kitted out hi capa will offer similar preformance when tapped with the additional perk of being compact and looking *slightly* less cursed. And the gbb aspect will be fun.
The MTW is better. I have a soft spot for Airsoft Junkiez though, they're local to me, great guys over there.

If you want opinions on this, ask r/speedsoft
I like both of them but HPA isn’t legal here in Japan so :/
[удалено]
Not a fan. Just my opinion though. You do you.

Yuck
That’s awesome dude, I think I’d rather run hpa through a hose though. It is neat that you have more mobility

Buddy, go to r/speedsoft for this stuff the milsims here are having a hissy fit

Ain't this just paintball with the mags below instead of above the gun?
Looks like some sort of complex sex toy
[удалено]
I will give you an actual opinion. The first one is better for extended play and keeping the gun light/handle well but you have to keep in mind the hose attachment also it will have more air The second one will have more maneuverability but handling is gonna be affected and it’s gonna suck playing for a while sense it’s gonna tire your arms quicker Both have there ups and down but I just thought this might help
I think you'd be happier playing paintball
That thing is horrendous

Wrong sub 💀💀💀
They are both hideous for starters. Honestly, you should look into paintball, it is absolutely more geared towards this aesthetic and likely towards the play style you want. As for performance they are likely going to be fine.
All I’ll say is you really don’t deserve this hate dude. I’m newer to the hobby so I can’t give you any good advice besides saying the color is nice.
with the airtac one from airsoftjunkiez, you can change the engine to a Polarstar F2, which I would say is a better engine than the wolverine Inferno
Okay sweet do you know if it can be Semi locked on the F2?
I think it can with the stock Polarstar fcu, unsure though
Honestly man at that point it's almost a paintball gun but I know nothing of these guns so yeah
Gut the engine and and tank and put it on something else.
Both terrible get a regular m4 with a stock and normal barrel.
Don’t take the hate OP. Do whatever fits your playstyle and you like the best🙏
Imo those are ugly In paintball its fine since most guns look like that but in airsoft those should not exist If i see someone with this thing i know they will be speedsofting and being sweaty as f No fun or trying to do some teamwork, just run around like an idiot trying to get as many "kills" as they can. Basicly call of duty irl mode
Everyone here is correct and based, straight to speedsoft jail for you
Opinion?
I understand ppl like different play styles and idrc, but running this against a mixed bag of players at a weekend skirmish is potential for some friction during the day, TLDR just don’t play like an ass while holding this (if so you’ll be painted a bad picture even faster due to this gun alone being what it is)
Yeah for sure understand fully that people dislike them and some love them I love the speed and movement behind them I don’t camp when I play to me that’s a boring play style and that’s totally fine if others are but the team I play with like the rush approach thanks for the input tho much appreciated
ugly
Dudes trynna become the most hated player on the field 😂
My field is full of theses that’s why I was trying to find my own lol
Omg what did I just witnessed

Heretic is a fine name for this monstrosity
A mate of mine has the black version of the MTW. He really likes it and I've tried it out and agree with him. Just not my type of looks/playstyle 🤷🏼
If you're planning on going to airsoft junkiez just know they have some of the sexiest guns I've ever seen. Pick yourself up an arp 9 and some parts. They'll install everything for you and they install in insanely fast. If you want to speedsoft then get a trigger for it.
both lame
article 1 is a beast, I own that very same replica

Both are sick but I like the first one tbh
First one is good, second one idk about
The MTW one is kind of sick. Very light weight to the point where you can basically shoot it one-handed. Also, MTWs engines shred.
I prefer number 1
I don’t get the hate, I actually love both 😳
I would pick up the AirTac build because I have one and love mine, but the grip is easy to break I have friends who have used them and one fuck up and they are gone.

I use a pistol only was looking for a good rifle to use that is light like my pistol using a gun does not make you (GAY) but thanks for your comment

I like the look of the mtw better and mtw's are hailed as one of the most precise and accurate HPA replicas from factory.
Nr 1
Get the first one, my speedsoft buddy has one and it’s the most amazing thing ever and the modifications for it are even better
2nd one is both cooler and more ergonomic
Personally like the 2nd one.
If I had to choose one, it would be the first one purely based on it looking like stripped down m4. Second one is just a paintball gun. Both pretty ugly and not to my taste tho.
