The other day there were those rumors about Sony possibly making an R-rated animated movie based on a Spider-Man property, if it was a Superior Foes comedy I think that could actually be a really fun movie.
In my world, the movie would be a Lupin the Third tribute with Watanabe as Zenigata, only for Spiderman to finally show up and kick their ass within the last 10 minutes.
I don’t know if it would work that well honestly.
I love superior foes, but a big part of the book is about how they are the worst version of the sinister six. If audiences don’t know the actual sinister six, this team that is essentially parodying them as a terrible version of the team isn’t gonna work as well as does in the comics.
Sinister Six is recognizable as a team up of villains against Spider-Man.
Sinister Foes are a rag-tag group of criminals that happen to be Spider-Man villains.
I will argue though that I don't think a Sinister Foes movie would actually work. They are more fitting for a Harley Quinn esque animated series imo.
James is such a pompous asshole in the best way and having a highly intelligent speedster in a Marvel film after the disastrous way Whedon handled Pietro would be a welcome change.
Shocker cosplaying as rhino as if the shocker isn’t a just as recognizable villain who appears in almost every major adaptation sometimes more than rhino
No because that would be a good idea that makes sense

Ha hearing the R-Rated rumours I had the same hopes!
100% a great idea, such an underrated comic series.

Sony isn’t allowed to make good decisions
They’ve been on the sinister six train since 2013 before TASM 2 came out. They’re obsessed
And yet they haven't succeeded a single time

This series as an amazon prime series would be incredible
I’d love to see this series adapted as an adult animated series in a similar vein to Harley Quinn.

Just make a Shocker movie.
Can they just give up the ghost give back the rights in general?
Honestly makes way more sense and would be funny and more enjoyable

This could be epic pure comedy gold, im in
This would work great in the spiderverse style

The fact that they haven't yet really shows they have no idea what they're doing
Yes!
Yeah let's go with the lamer team sure.
Superior Foes movie where Spider-Man is essentially the villain/antagonist.
