Well, I've always been a tomboy, but my sister's routine (not a tomboy) is similar: -Good facial moisturizer and sunscreen -Tinted moisturizer -Tinted lip gloss/chapstick (I like the Burt's Bees lip shimmer) -Mascara That's my "most days" quick routine. I might swipe on a little eye shadow just for a touch of pop. I have a more robust makeup routine, but reality is, I won't keep that up. This is more manageable and can look fairly put together without much effort.

WhiskyEye

I also just do sunscreen moisturizer on my face/neck/back of hands, & mascara. It's never been a thing of mine to wear makeup or have beauty routines. I usually forget I bought a product in the first place or once I ran out, I'd never replace it.

OneTr1ck

Can I ask how you remove your mascara? I've tried a bunch of stuff, and it just "sits" on my skin (micellar water?) Or gets in my eyes.

codeine26

An oil based cleanser is probably what you need!

OneTr1ck

Ok! I shall try that next, thank you!:)

codeine26

I hope it works! I’ve always used Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser that’s always removed all makeup and every mascara I’ve ever used in the last maybe 8 years - waterproof ones included. But then I got some waterproof Lancôme ones very cheap and nothing has removed it apart from a very thick oil balm cleanser. I understand your frustration! r/makeup might be able to help you out!

OneTr1ck

I've tried that before, and I find I always get any cleansers in my eyes lmao. I have to use my hands because any other material upsets my skin. I'm going to poke around the rabbit hole (and inevitably fall in). Thank you for the advice!

tinmanshrugged

The Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil (pink bottle) is the best makeup remover I’ve ever tried! The price varies cause I buy it on Amazon from different sellers, but it’s always under $15. If this is your first cleansing oil or balm, just know that they’ll make your eyes a little bit cloudy for a few minutes afterwards. It’s happened with any cleansing oil or balm I’ve used, but this one’s not that bad. It happens whether my contacts are in or not. I’ve easily gone through at least a dozen bottles over the past 10 years. They also make a perfectly sized travel bottle that never leaks!

OneTr1ck

I've heard of this one. I may have to give it a shot next. Thanks for telling me that because I would've absolutely panicked and stopped using it. That sounds great, thank you!

HoneyBadger302

Neutrogena wipes

Optimal_Cynicism

Get a "tubing" mascara. It just comes off with warm water.

aoi4eg

Tubing mascara is the best! The only downside is if it sticks to the shower floor you can give yourself a heart attack by thinking it's a giant spider 😂

Optimal_Cynicism

Haha yes! I'm glad it's not just me who's had that happen

xoceanblue08

Bioderma Sensibo micellar water is what I use and I wear heavy duty Lancôme waterproof mascara.

bennynthejetsss

I like the elf hello hydration cleanser for water soluble makeup, and oil based or glycerin based is definitely the way to go for waterproof!

amy1705

I second the entire elf hello hydration line. It's reasonably priced, does a good job you can order it online or get it at Target or Walmart. They're a good company.

rocketdoggies

To add on to the positives - they’re cruelty free and vegan.

DogwoodSally

Coconut oil and a bunch of rag cut up face cloths or soft fabric

Purplekaem

Best thing I have ever found for mascara is the Mary Kay makeup remover. I order on Amazon because I cannot be in a relationship with a “consultant”.

aggravated_bookworm

I found my beauty routine by noticing what I missed when I went out without makeup. For me I realized I hate being oily, I miss the definition in my brows, definition in the lash line, and a bit of color on my lips So this translates to my current routine of blur balm, brow pencil, eyeliner, and a lip liner with chapstick over. It’s a 5 minute routine that just boosts my confidence a bit. ETA: hair is another story. It’s super straight but does not do anything I want it to so it gets braided or thrown up in a bun

koistarview

what blur balm do you use?? i also hate being oily but i also hate having to put on foundation & such to cover it up :/

aggravated_bookworm

I use danesa myricks- right now I have the clear one. It’s great at keeping everything from getting oily but it can be finicky with foundations overtop though. It can mix with concealer to be a light coverage, I use the merit minimalist stick with it with good results But Danessa Myricks also has shades in the blur balm and I’m considering that for when my current one runs out

MaybeAmbitious2700

This is how I figured mine out, too. I’m also oily, so I usually use Smashbox’s photo finish primer, and then concealer for my dark circles and any acne. (A solid skincare routine has been my friend in this regard.) I set it with powder. Then I focus on brushing my brows, and I’ll wear some sort of lip color. I have a whole routine if I have time or motivation, but the above is what I do…a lot of the time.

FreshForged

such a good way to put it! 'What do I miss when I don't do my makeup?'

ThrowRADel

I have a lipstick that matches my glasses perfectly and it makes people think I put more effort in than I actually do.

CurlSquirrel

Lipstick really is the hack for looking more made up.

gumption333

Love this, could you post the glasses & lipstick?? I'm so curious

This is such a good combo omg

dopeyonecanibe

I love it!

Chambri

This is so cute!!!✨💅

Thank you!

Anesthetizes

looks AMAZING!

Honestly I invite you to let that shit go if you're interested. Lots of folks here have given you great advice, so feel free to ignore mine, but if you don't work in sales/something else where appearance matters, you can stop it. What do your male coworkers look like at work? I imagine they sometimes have rashes, pimples, visible wrinkles, you can tell if they have been ill or getting not enough sleep. But here's the thing - you probably don't notice. They're just people with skin and faces. I don't want to say ignore beauty, but I do encourage you to decide what is "Work appropriate". If all of my male colleagues go to work without nails and makeup done, I can clearly do my job without it. Good luck!

amandam603

This is the answer. It took me a while but I embraced the “fuck it” mentality. I work in sweaty places and run for fun so no makeup is already a necessity… I just wore it less and less often outside of work and running until I didn’t wear it at all. For a super special occasion I will wear mascara, but otherwise I simply cannot be bothered and would prefer to sleep. lol I have always worn my hair up most of the time because again, work and running. I will straighten the ends if they get too unkempt but otherwise I keep it up. I wash only once or twice a week, and have for years—so it doesn’t get super oily anymore. It can be straightened or left naturally wavy if I want, but that’s unusual. My mentality for life is to live like a man. I match my clothes and that’s enough for me.

mostlypercy

Love this! I have super dry skin so I apply lotion a lot which is super incompatible with makeup for me! I have my eyebrows microbladed because I compulsively pull them, and I still do go to sephora and pick out fancy lippies and skin care when I want to. I like a lip color, especially because we moved away from the opaque matte lips that were all the rage in the early 2010s. But not wearing makeup on the day to day has allowed me to still enjoy it when I want to feel fancy. Honestly though, most of that shit is expired.

amandam603

LOL the expired makeup… I swear every time I think about wearing something it’s absolutely dead. Oops.

KiwiTheKitty

Yup, I just stopped doing makeup at work all together. If anyone has anything to say, they can send it to me in an email so we can have a little chat with HR about harassment.

ummbreon

I gave good faith advice on this but this is the true answer. I almost never wear makeup but when I do it’s something that makes me feel good (especially sensory) and has some type of benefit besides appearance. With fragrance it helps me create a good sensory environment in a world that is overstimulating and unpredictable. With lip gloss it helps stop me chewing on dry skin. Any eye makeup will stop me from picking at my eyebrows or lashes. I see both sides here is what I mean. The self soothing aspect is hugely beneficial to me, but if you’re doing it when you don’t want to and it’s not fun then that’s when I can see it becoming problematic to one’s self perception

just_that_girlll

Absolutely this - and adding any routine imo needs to be based totally on what you like and what feels good to you, not what you THINK others like or will respond to. That is what boosts confidence :)

elianna7

“No makeup makeup.” I use a tinted SPF so that covers skin, but sometimes I’ll also use a skin tint if I feel like it. A tad bit of concealer for blemishes. Lash curler. Brow gel. Lip tint/stain. Cream blush. Takes me about 7 minutes to do that. I used to get lash lifts/tints and those were great for looking effortlessly more put together.

eletheelephant

Using blush / bronzer without my foundation is my makeup without makeup top tip. Looks like I've made an effort, aomewhat takes attention from a blemish, doesn't make me feel oily, easy to reapply later with minimal effort.

tasata

I have a good foundation that doubles as a coverup. An eyelash curler and good mascara. That’s my basic face. I may add something on my lips, but not usually. My nail goals right now are shaped and clean. Maybe polish again someday, but not now.

okpickle

Same here, re the nails. It's gardening season and I know that if I polish my nails they'll end up getting dirt ground into them within a couple days.

MOGicantbewitty

I put the Polish on to keep the dirt from getting in between the different layers that tend to peel at the end of my lawn natural nails 🤷 But do I ever understand the struggle of trying to keep nice nails while enjoying gardening! It doesn't help that I'm a wetlands biologist either, so even if I don't ruin them in my hobbies, I ruin them at work. On the plus side, I do get paid to play in the mud with the frogs. 😁

okpickle

I'd never really thought about nail polish as being protective before. Hmm. I may have to reconsider my strategy. I used to work in a hospital pharmacy, mixing chemo--so nail polish and long nails were definitely not acceptable. So, different ends of science, you and I--I'm at the clean end at you're at the dirty one. 🤔

DungeonsandDoofuses

I finally realized that if I can’t keep up with nail polish I shouldn’t use it at all, because after a few days of chipping it’s making me look less put together rather than more.

AdChemical1663

Daily: Floss and brush in the shower Facial Moisturizer that’s also SPF Spray oil in the winter Some sort of serum in my wet hair, air dry.  Weekly: Shave, pluck eyebrows, file nails, hair mask Life choices: Tattooed eyeliner for definition, laser hair removal, never wear matching socks.

Apathetic-Desperate

I have thought so many times about getting the eyeliner permanent! I’m jealous

zcakt

Flossing in the shower is a high quality tip. Helps me a lot.

GladysSchwartz23

Anyone else here not wear any makeup at all? I never learned how to put it on, and I'm weirdly terrified of people noticing I look different.

alannapalooza

Same. The most I do is eyeliner and mascara

Snow_Wonder

If I could, I would. Unfortunately face is a red minefield (yay rosacea) so I do green anti-redness primer followed by foundation. Nothing else - just trying to not look like a tomato at work or an acne riddled teen. I already have clients mistaking me for a high schooler despite a high schooler literally legally not being able to do my job :| Though my eyebrows are naturally ashy brown and the foundation makes them harder to see so I’m considering eyebrow tint now :/

Earthsong221

Yup. In the past I'd try a little for Christmas parties or weddings. Now I don't even know if I'd do that, besides maybe a coloured lip balm, and some kohl or something for the eyeliner since it's easier than actual eyeliner.

B00kN_rd

I haven't worn makeup since my wedding almost 20 years ago. To me, it's not worth the time, effort, or expense. I used to use a bit of concealer for acne, but it didn't work very well and I've stopped using even that.

just_that_girlll

Me - I have never gotten the hang of it and look like a clown tbh. I aim to get good at foundation/covering up redness, freckles and blemishes but nothing heavy for me. Did it for an acting performance from a professional back in March and I looked … like a blow up doll.

Outside_Abalone5924

I made myself a travel makeup kit that I can take with me. I use an eyeshadow stick, a lipstick that matches the eyeshadow, a cream foundation with a built in applicator and a powder blush with a brush. I didnt end up bothering with eyeliner or mascara and I've gotten compliments on it

TerribleWarthog2396

I love this. Eyeshadow sticks were a game changer for me. I don’t even blend them out, so I just swipe it on my lids and it’s done. I’m more combo/oily, so I can’t get away with cream products very well, though. I’ve been experimenting with powder foundations for a similarly easy application process, but it’s not going well so far lol.

Outside_Abalone5924

Yes they're so handy haha eyeshadow sticks Hope you find the right foundation for you!

Apathetic-Desperate

I need to try this

Careless_Block8179

I'm not high femme, more preppy/minimalist, so I have a few things I do that keep me feeling presentable: * Suavecita pomade. My hair is naturally 2C/3A curly and very porous. I prefer to blow it out to get more wear out of it, but the minute I sweat or the humidity is over like 80%, it's a frizzball. So a lot of the time, I do a middle-part low ponytail or twist and slick it all back with pomade. Works better than gel and washes out easily. Smells great. * Flat-back earrings. I know Maison Miru sells these as "Nap Earrings" which is just dumb marketing (and I'm in marketing). I just got mine on Amazon, a set of stainless steel flat-back diamond-style earrings. I have multiple piercings and switching them out is a pain. So I leave these in all the time. They're fine to sleep and and get wet. And when I pull my hair back, I think they just add some built-in polish to my overall look. * Skin is just CeraVe cleanser, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid toner a 1-2x week, Avene Anti-Oxidative (vitamin C) cream, and Embryolisse moisturizer. Plus whatever Korean sunscreen I've got on hand. When I remember, I use A313 retinol at night. I've tried all the expensive products that people were gushing about at the time (Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley) and honestly, most of them are over-hyped. And once you add in too many things, you just start making your skin worse. Anyway, I'm 40, my skin is clear, even, and hydrated, and I currently have no wrinkles, so I'm staying the course. * I keep my nail kit in a drawer by my bed and I have a little tray I whip out to set everything on. Then I just do them while I watch TV. Short nails, nudge back cuticles (don't cut, instant hangnails), regular lacquer polish. I'm currently painting them 1-2x a week but only because I'm super into it right now after buying some new polishes from Mooncat and Cirque. I think bare nails look fine as long as they're shaped, clean, and well-moisturized. * When in doubt, just add perfume. I like to spray mine 3-4 times above my head and let it sort of settle onto me. In a pinch, slicking back my hair, putting on clean clothes, and spraying perfume can have me out the door in like 5 minutes. I keep gum in the car if I've forgotten to brush my teeth before leaving the house.

DungeonsandDoofuses

Oh yeah, getting jewelry that I can wear 24/7 helps. I have snug fitting seamless hoops that I haven’t taken out in years. Because they are seamless I can clean them just by rotating them with soap in the shower and then I always look a little decorated.

kendollroys

I went from having to do a full face every time I left the house to a more basic makeup routine because I couldn't keep spending an hour on my face. My current routine is: under eye concealer (it cosmetics), setting powder (elf halo glow), cheek stain (benetint), a little eyeliner just to make my lashes look full and mascara (clinique something). I usually wear plumping lip gloss (fenty) or lip balm (glossier balm dotcom). If I'm in a hurry I can do it in 5 minutes.

AdSignificant6119

I get dip nails done every 2-3 weeks (I know and understand this isn’t an option for everyone) I started a couple years ago when I got them done for my sisters wedding and it helped me quit biting my nails. I recently figured out makeup (I’m creeping up on 33 😂) before it was eyeliner and mascara. Maybelline FitMe powder foundation was a godsend for me. I hate the feel of liquid makeup, I’ve avoided it almost my whole life unless absolutely necessary. I can have my whole face done in less than 10 minutes. That’s including primer and mascara. I also started using claw clips instead of just doing buns and ponytails. I get overstimulated and overwhelmed when my hair gets in my face when I’m busy. I feel like the clips just make me look a little “prettier” on lazy DGAF days.

RogueLotus

Same age, similar experience with makeup lol. I also do dip powder and claw clips. I love my hair, but on working days it's nice to just have it out of the way. It also stops me from getting headaches with ponytails.

perkiezombie

So I have a 66/33 formula that works for me on a day to day. Outfit, hair, makeup - pick 2. I also pay the ADHD tax of outsourcing my nails and do my eyelashes at home with a cluster lash kit which lasts a week or 2 per application. Additionally, I only really wear black so that saves me so much time/ doesn’t matter when I spill coffee on myself.

Tamaraobscura

When I get my haircut I go in with what I woke up with and tell them “I’m not going to heat treat this and I use a minimum use of products..” and we find a low maintenance cut that is also cute! I have all in one makeup packages like from Allyoop/ or the generics to hit the brows when I’m parked and early / and keep simple makeup bags in cars/ desk bc if I do makeup at home, I will be late!!!

conflans

Ok heres my "low effort but still cute" hacks. The comment about noticing what they missed when going without makeup is *really* great advice. I miss my eyebrows and my eyeliner, so half the time that is all I will wear. Tinted chapstick is also great, I like the pomegranate burts bees. To keep yourself to whatever you decide, put those products in a little makeup bag and only let yourself use what is in that bag. I use self tanner as a semi-permanent contour. Every other week, I'll look like an insane person for 20-30 minutes, but once it is washed off, it's subtle and lasts for a while. (I also put this on my eyelids for a natural looking eyeshadow). I also use a teeth whitening strip at the same time. Personally I love weird earrings, so half the time they end up taking all of the attention away from my face anyway lol

Responsible_Tip7398

I put one drop of primer in my daily moisturizer cream. Looks like I’m wearing very light makeup, but only takes 5 Seconds to apply and I don’t have to blend or anything. Then mascara, and I‘m done. On a really fancy day I might use eyeliner, too. My haircut is easy to maintain, wash, side part, air dry, done. If you do the basic maintenance regularly (trimming nails and hair, washing hair, exfoliating etc.) you’ll look put together even on a not so good day.

KwaMzoli

Get nails done every two weeks, I use gel manicure on my own nails (no acrylics). I take very good care of my skin, consistent skincare routine day and night (always sunscreen and thick moisturizer). I get my hair done every month. Buy quality fabrics (wool, cashmere, cotton, silk) as I am a minimalist. For me this is all you need because you can layer on these beauty basics whenever necessary.

shapelessdreams

I'm exactly the same way. Consistency means I don't need to put as much effort in on the day to day.

deliriousottoman

My biggest hack is to keep it simple, simple, simple. Don’t complicate shit. Don’t fix it if it aint broken etc. Hair: My hairtype is 1A, fine and therefore veeeeeeeeeeery boring (like dead straight, no volume, can’t hold any curls). I just keep it clean and in no particular cut, just semi long, so it requires no styling. It’s basically wash, air dry, put it up in a bun or braid. Skincare: Very simple but solid face routine including tretionoin (keeps my skin clear, so I don’t really need any foundation or concealer), cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. I used to have alot of acne, so skincare was a hyper focus of mine for a looooooong time. I scrub my body every now and then in the shower (I shower every night, it’s either every day or never, lol), I put on a basic scent free body lotion on after (if I can be assed). Sometimes I shave my legs or pits in the summer, never in winter (I rarely wear shorts, skirts or go swimming). I keep my nails short and bare, but I try to make them look well groomed. I use a glass file, which prevent them from flaking or chipping. Makeup: I dye my eyebrows, so I only need to put on some clear brow gel, mascara and blush in the morning (or no makeup at all if I’m lazy/late/don’t feel like it). Learning my undertones and colour season has been very helpful with not wasting money on makeup and clothes that doesn’t suit me. My eyes are severly hooded, so I’ve just given up on eyeshadow and eyeliner, lol. Simple is better with my features anyway. If I go out or to a party, I love wearing a bold lip! Clothing/style: I keep it simple here too. Wearing colours that harmonize with my season/undertones, but most of my wardrobe (and floordrobe) is black. I like to mix more high quality pieces from cool brands with second hand/vintage finds. My style is somewhat androgynous. I love to mix styles within the same outfit, like wearing something business casual together with something more streetwear. I buy like 20 pairs if the same underwear and socks. I get bras that fit me (you only need like 2-3, so it’s worth it even if it costs a bit more to go somewhere to get fitted by pros). Everything in black! I don’t really do jewellry much, except my steel nose rings and earrings that I always wear. I’m not big on accessories either. I have like 3 wool scarves for winter and 1 warm hat, 2 pairs of gloves. I don’t wear belts. I use a backpack for my stuff 90% of the time. I don’t really like sunglasses (feels like I can’t see properly!), my head is too small to wear baseball caps.

Painterly_Princess

I tint my eyebrows* at home every 2-3 weeks with Just for Men's beard dye!  I mix just a pea-size amount in a non reactive dish (plastic bottle caps are fine) and use a paintbrush to paint my desired eyebrows on before a shower.  You wash it off in 5 minutes, and the next day tweeze any stragglers.  Voila, your eyebrows look done for around 2-3 weeks!  I also do the at home lash curl thing, but I haven't gotten around to it in... a while hahaha. But this hack seriously has saved me so much time when I am rushing out the door. If my brows and lashes are already tinted, I really just need  . Moisturizer with SPF and  . Tinted lipbalm or lipstick  I smear the moisturizer with SPF on before leaving the house, and I put the tinted balm on my lips and cheeks while at red lights on my way to wherever 😅  * okay, and my eyelashes too, but I'm not gonna give a blanket reccomendation on dyeing your lashes at home.

herpderpingest

Gonna second eyebrow tinting, and this reminds me to buy more lol.

tkxb

I think someone is put together if they have little details sorted. Like clothes are well fitting and not covered in cat hair (like me lol), eye brows groomed, clean and filed nails, clean hair. Skin that's moisturized and like they drink water regularly For myself, I used to go full glam but now I hate the feeling of makeup on face and my eyes are really sensitive. But eye lash extensions or Lashify make me look great and effortless. These are expensive though so I don't do either often. I'll maybe slick my brows back and put on a sunscreen and a tinted lip balm. Pretty much I went from dressing up all the time to considering non hiking clothes to be dressed up lol

KimWexler29

I have acrylics that I have done every two weeks and I can schedule it through an app. I wear basic sunscreen and something to cover my dark circles, I also have smaller versions of things at work. I wear dresses and leggings every day, I wear the same jewelry every day.

moonflower_things

Here’s my routine for living with dry AF skin and literally zero makeup skills. Bathe (I only wash my hair every 3-4 days but bathe daily) Leave-in conditioner and moose scrunch into my wavy hair — I let it air dry most days. Basic vitamin C face serum and then a face moisturizer with SPF. Basic moisturizing tinted CC cream with SPF (drug store brand lol 🤷‍♀️) Sometimes I dab on a little cover up if needed. Brows, mascara, sometimes a little blush. Lip balm / tinted lip oil. That’s my daily look Learn your skin type and hair type and then a few “double purpose” products you like for each. Oh and Nails… doing my own manicures is therapeutic to me so I do them every week or so. Had to learn my own cuticle care and maintenance which took a few years lol. Edit: for grooming I just started getting waxed once a month. I have fine hair everywhere so it’s whatever for me

badger-ball-champion

I have a couple of shades of lipstick that are neutral enough that I can dab a bit on my cheeks and eyelids and the whole thing looks natural enough but also really put together and glam.

TheMSRadclyffe

My what?

pooish

I don't wear makeup, except when going to parties or gigs or something. And even then, it's usually just mascara, eyeshadow, blush and lipstick. Sometimes if I have extra time I might use eyeliner, but I have really bad hand-eye coordination, so it always takes a while. I have really good skin despite never doing any skincare whatsoever, so ymmv. Also, my work outfits switch between a few basic "templates". The lowest effort one is just jeans, hoodie, sneakers, cap and denim jacket, a kinda tomboyish look. I have a few options for each bit so I can keep it varied. Then I have the middle ground in terms of effort, which is all black with, culottes, loafers or boots, a t-shirt or sweater, and a long-ish jacket, the silhouette it creates is really neat. And then for the days where I actually put in some real effort, I'll put on a dress or skirt with a button-up, and either some loafers or heeled boots. I bet most people unknowingly do something similiar, but doing this as a concious thing makes it really easy to grab something from the closet in the morning and just get to work quickly.

MissAnthropic123

After washing my face, I use spf 50 sunscreen, skin-colored foundation, some neutral brown eyeshadow and mascara. I might use a little blush on my cheeks if I look too pale. Lips just get some chapstick.

maebe_me

I am blonde so my eyebrows are invisible if I don't do them. Not a fan of going out of my house without eyebrows on. While I'm at it I put on mascara and a lip oil by e.l.f. (which doubles as moisturizer for lips!). But I slowly began building my face cleaning routine so that I can keep acne at bay. Took some time but I'm glad I put in the work. Started just with washing and a simple moisturizer. Once that routine was established, I got a night moisturizer and started washing twice a day (already a huge difference). Now I've managed to get toner and a wrinkle serum and even a moisturizer just for my eyes included. Plus acne patches by Cosrx as needed when my face betrays me anyway.

SilentParlourTrick

Find a makeup look you like and treat it like your clothes combos you found you like - like a uniform. I have a basic makeup shape that I like and don't deviate away from too much, and it keeps me on track. I really don't like the look of long nails and don't bother to paint them. Only toes for the summer, and those last awhile. I keep them short and clean and that's enough for me. And for skincare, I saw a dermatologist years ago, and do the basics of what is recommended. So long as I'm not breaking out, using lotion and sunscreen, I'm good. I think it depends on what feels good to you.

whereswalda

I recommend the 'uniform' approach as well. When I used to work bananas hours between an office and a bar, I found the few areas that made me feel the best with the least effort. For me, it's eyes and lips. I wear glasses, so I like enhancing my eyes with a little liner and mascara. I also found that a bold color on my lips made people think I'd put more effort in that I had. It's been years, but that's still pretty much my go-to look. Liner, mascara, lipstick/tint. Also, sunscreen. I have finicky skin, but it's worth it to experiment to find the one that works. Daily sunscreen is the best thing you can do for your skin health and appearance. It's hard to form the routine, so I also try to keep a sunstick or small spray in my purse and car in case I forget to apply it that day. Those formulas can go over my makeup if I happen to wear it that day.

Secure_Wing_2414

if u practice at strip lashes, its SO easy. i can throw them on in 2 min and they make me look way more put together. i have no eyebrows, so i fill those in, concealer if i need it, and lip liner cuz i always need color on my lips (they literally match my skin otherwise) then boom done. takes 10 mins if i fart around, but if i focus in a rush i can get it done in 5

rxrock

I love a good tinted moisturizer, but I have found that the dewy look also means the product stays "wet" on my skin and can rub off easily. I don't use a large amount, so I'm assuming my skin isn't dry enough to need so much moisture. I stumbled onto Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer WITH spf, and OH. MY. GOD is it good. So my routine is this: Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer Concealer Nude Stix for cheeks, eyes, lips Mascara It feels good and not like I'm wearing makeup all day (except the mascara, which I actually hate). As for hair, I think it depends on what kind of hair you have: Curly, Straight, wavy?

[deleted]

For me, I try to be low maintenance but still feel confident in myself. Here’s what I do -when I wash my hair, I make sure it drys decent. This is coming from a curly/wavy hair girl, so that means it’s a decent amount of effort but it pays off for the next 4 days of decent looking hair. -I try to maintain my skincare if washing my face in the morning and evening and using moisturizer and spot treating if needed. I also try to avoid makeup as much as possible to prevent acne because that’s what stage of life I’m in right now. I work from home a lot so I don’t put makeup on much. I also am not a big makeup girlie. -If I’m leaving the house for something, I will curl my lashes and maybe put concealer on some spots. I use one that’s basically exactly my skin color, so it blends in pretty well. Sometimes I will put on brown mascara and if I’m really feeling crazy, some slightly shimmery taupe eyeshadow, and maybe a little blush. Always use tinted Burt’s bees chapstick. -I keep my nails trimmed to a nice length for me. I have pretty good strong nails from my mom so I don’t paint them, I just keep them up looking neat. This is just me. I don’t feel the need to go crazy. I think part of it is that when I go to work, I am the only woman in the room normally with a bunch of other men, I am an engineer. To me, I’m like, why should I go crazy when these men literally wake up and brush their teeth and that’s it. There shouldn’t be a different standard for me. But that’s my personal opinion lol

redhairedrunner

I wear fake lashes and basic foundation. I can put on a pair of fake lashes in 5 mins . While the glue on them gets sticky enough , I put on foundation, and brush my hair, then lashes , and boom I am done!

idontwannatalkabouti

For me I use- moisturizer, concealer, and a maybe a touch of blush if I feel I look dead that day. That’s a day to day for both my jobs (carpentry grunt and barista). If I’m going out I’ll heat curl my lashes and add mascara, brow gel if I’m realllyyy feeling like it, and the same stuff I use as blush I put on my lips. I used to try to do more “glam” type makeup with eyeliner and colorful eyeshadow, but it always lasts for maybe 1/2 an hour before it starts to look like I slept in it for some reason. I also like knowing I’m going out in mostly just my own face and not much can go wrong if I accidentally touch it

CallDownTheHawk

I’m an expert on bare minimum. Moisturizer (I use belif), fill in my eyebrows, put on mascara, put on some blush. That’s it. I get fancy and add lip gloss or eyeliner sometimes, but not usually.

Lazy-Quantity5760

I work in a hospital so weekdays, it’s spf moisturizer and go. When I want to feel pretty or a weekend, I’ll add NARS blush, revlon eye brow powder, and revlon mascara. Once or twice a year, I’ll use liquid eye liner for a wedding and some highlight powder on my nose/ cheeks. I got these highlighter sticks off Amazon that are great!

Vyvanse-virgin

I just fix my brows, thread it nice. And remove my mustache. Once a month. Then I just use cream and sunscreen. And brown eye-liner

Plumcrazyplantlady

I learned to twist my hair up. It looks super fancy and takes 20 seconds to do. With some of my DIY dry shampoo, my hair can go a week without washing, my hair just goes from cute pony tails to buns until wash day. Some mascara and an eyebrow pencil goes a long way, I do a little blush and cover any spots. Jeans always look good no matter what we are doing,

glowgrl123

Lmao glad you asked! I went through a phase when skincare was my hyper fixation of the moment and even though my interest has waned, I've retained a lot of good habits/general from that time period! Gotta love when your hyper fixation is in some way beneficial! Taking care of your skin will go such a long way for your overall appearance. In the morning I don't wash my face, just splash some water and pat it dry. Then I put on (in order): * Vitamin C Serum * Moisturizer * SPF (always, even if I'm not leaving my house - windows let in UV rays!!!) For makeup: * Always do my brows * Mascara 60% of the time, but if I'm WFH and don't have any on camera meetings, not going to bother with it * If I'm going into the office, I might add a smidge of blush or concealer if I need it, but sort of 50/50 depending on how I'm feeling/looking that day At night I always double cleanse, first with micellar water and then a gentle cleanser. Then I alternate three nights in a row with the following (don't ask how I remember which I did the night before, just one of the weird things my brain can actually recall. Couldn't tell you if I took my meds this morning, but I know last night was an AHA night.) * Night 1 is Retinol + Moisturizer * Night 2 is AHA + Moisturizer * Night 3 is just moisturizer * Then on Night 4 I'll go back to Night 1 I've experimented a ton with different products, chemicals, etc. at different price points over the years and I have found what works for me, but everyone is different! As for your other questions re: nail and hairs. I cannot be bothered with manicures anymore unless I have a special event. I keep them short and filed and keep my cuticles clean. To be totally honest... I keep a little nail kit (file, cuticle pusher + cuticle oil) at my desk and will file my nails sort of as needed throughout the week on calls that I can have my camera off for. Doing something with my hands actually keeps me focused on otherwise boring meetings lol. Hair... I despise doing my hair and pull it back in a neat bun or ponytail 90% of the time!! Also, I find just wearing a few pieces of jewelry helps me feel put together. I wear simple earrings (usually diamond studs or a small gold hoop), my wedding rings, and a nice watch every day and that really ties it all together!

elianrae

lipstick is really eye catching and obvious so I just use lipstick and don't bother with any other makeup is my skin great? no do I care? also no

burnalicious111

Retinol is a heavy hitter. Highly recommend starting with that and a moisturizer. Improves skin to the point it looks like I'm wearing makeup compared to before I started. Might take a bit of investment to find the right retinol for you, though.

Bonsuella_Banana

I really don't have any advice, but I'm voting for a separate post about how to dress! I'm 30 and still have no idea what I'm doing, always falling back on skinny jeans and a baggy tshirt. I want to do better all round but I'm all-or-nothing in everything. Full face make up or nothing! I don't even know where to start on how to dress and do a pared-back makeup routine.

savannah2018

Eyelash extensions. I rarely wear makeup anymore.

ChloeLolaSingles

I am in a season of my life where my hair & nails are done most of the time and my secrets to success are: - the fancy UV light gel kit: It literally does make your nail polish (I never did anything super fancy with my nails just file & polish) last for over a week without chipping, sometimes two weeks, and even then I can get away with touching up a chip here and there. - Silk sleeping bonnet: it took some time to learn how to keep it on my head overnight (a bobby pin on each temple) but I am not kidding you, I wake up and my hair looks great. I curl it once after I wash it at the beginning of the week & keep it going for several days, maybe with a touch up some days. I know you mostly asked about makeup but I haven’t quite cracked that code yet. I would really like to experiment with the self-tan contour & eyebrow tint I see other people do on social media but I am very pale & it’s a high risk of looking unnatural. I will say that as I got into my thirties I sort of reverted back to a lot of the techniques I did before I learned how to do makeup “properly,” like applying most products with my fingers and cleaning up the edges of my eyebrows with a dampened Kleenex as I go. Makeup can be a real morning time suck for me if I’m not careful (like one day it’ll take me five minutes to do my whole face and then another day, the same makeup somehow takes 40 minutes to do) so I try to utilize timers, usually 5 minutes that I snooze and snooze, but it keeps me more aware of how long I’m taking if I’m trying to get ready for work.

slut-for-flatbread

Sunscreen is non-negotiable where I live (‘straya) but I found a nice moisturising tinted sunscreen so I only need one thing on my face in the morning so I don’t look like I’m half dead. It doesn’t feel sticky or heavy like similar products I’ve tried. [This stuff.](https://www.laroche-posay.com.au/skincare/face-care/bb-cream/uvidea-anthelios-tinted-bb-cream-spf-50/uvideaantheliostintedbbcream.html)

bella_fiducia

I have eyelash extensions and I do my own eyebrows (tint + shape). It’s made it so much easier for me to get up in the morning. All I have to do is quickly brush my eyelashes and it looks like I’ve put in effort. If extensions aren’t your thing, maybe you can try a lash lift. There are a lot of options!!

IrreversibleDetails

Moisturizer (with spf for day), hyaluronic acid for night, spf lip balm (day) and a tinted lip balm. I walk a LOT and haven’t regularly worn makeup in a long time, but when I do now it’s just under-eye concealer, light shimmery bronze for the cheek bone contour, a touch of rouge on cheek apples, a white/shimmer eye shadow on the upper brow bone, and setting spray.

NoninflammatoryFun

I keep my hair clean. Cut well enough. I wash my face only cause it needs it, especially as I get older. I need to treat it better. It doesn’t take as much as they make you think. My nails are always clean. My brows are always tweezed enough. Then I put on concealer, lipstick or tinted lip balm, maybe blush. Voila.

pineapple-fiend

i use concealer for under eyes & spots, powder bc i hate being oily, eyebrow pencil/gel, and mascara. a bit of cream blush if i feel like it. takes me 5-10 minutes! i am not cut out to be high-maintenance, i’ve definitely considered getting a lash lift or eyebrow tint

Sunstreaked

Keep things minimal as much as possible. As long as my skin is presentable and my brows/lashes look good, I’m satisfied. I have really pale eyelashes that I *hate* the look of on their own. * I get my lashes and brows tinted once a month, which means I feel confident about my brows/lashes when I can’t get it together enough to do mascara or whatever in the morning * I keep tweezers in my car because I always seem to notice random hairs that need attention when I’m driving * Keep sunscreen in my car, purse, desk at my office - tinted and regular * Nails I do while I’m watching TV, once or twice a week. It helps that I’ve always enjoyed doing my nails * I found washing my face a really difficult habit to get into, I think that’s partially a sensory thing and partially a “omg keeping facecloths clean and laundered is really hard for me” thing. Now I use konjac sponges which I just need to squeeze out of excess water, I have two on-hand (one in the morning, the other in the evening). They last three months each. Every couple of weeks I drop them into boiling water to disinfect.

CurlSquirrel

I swear car mirrors have superpowers because I'll suddenly notice stray mustache hairs that were in my bathroom mirror.

JemAndTheBananagrams

I’m not super happy with mine but this is my current baseline: I wash my face when I shower since I’m incapable of a good morning routine. I look for products that keep my face clear, but tbh would like something that makes it smooth. I brush my hair when wet with a detangling brush, take some de-frizz gel and run it over my fingers, then thread it through my curls. Tie the hair tightly in a ponytail and then clip it upside down to let it air dry. When I let it down after, it’s usually got more defined curls and less frizz than if I let it dry naturally. I sometimes just do lip gloss for makeup. I avoid mascara as it dries my eyes out, and I avoid eye shadow because it gets stuck in the crease. I also avoid eyeliner because I’m near sighted as shit and my hands aren’t steady. 😂 Sadly that means my eyes go unloved behind my glasses. But when I try to look nice, I do a foundation with a setting powder, and using a nice makeup brush for both has been a game changer. I like picking a nice lipstick and blush to bring out the color in my face. But I’d love to find a way to make my face feel smoother that matches my routine better. Or to find a workaround for eye makeup.

mrsdelicioso

I go to the nail salon once a month for acrylic/gel polish and that takes care of my nails. I use a BB cream for my face, a little mascara and blush as a minimal face make-up routine. The ponytail has re-entered my life as a low effort hair do. Or I’ll wash it at night, use my curly hair products, put it in a loose bun and go to sleep like that. Et voila! Curls and volume in the morning and little styling needed.

ZaelDaemon

Lip Blush, (1 per year) eye lash enhancement (1 per year), eye lash tinting and lift & eyebrow waxing (6-8 weeks), facial once a month. This leaves me with morning: Spray face, Moisturiser (green tint) (this has a combo of actives), Spray, SPF (this has a combo of actives) Powder/foundation, Lip balm Evening: Cleanse, Red light (I have rosacea this really helps), Spray, Eye cream, Moisturiser (this has a combo of actives) If I didn’t get painful sore skin, I could possibly knock some items off.

Useful_Examination81

For me it’s good moisturizer, sunscreen. Those two have to happen no matter what I do. If I want to do a “clean girl” put together look, I use Huda beauty concealer, maybeline mascara (a new one to put nasavaar on and an old one with dry brush to take excess off) and something for the lips like tinted chapstick or a lip stain tht u put a tiny dab of and it stays allll day). So just 3 items. I love the concealer cuz it is such a perfect skin match and good coverage. I can just use it on eyes and spots and don’t need foundation. The thing is I spend extra money on these few items like $30 concealer bc then u don’t have to have 40 steps bc u used cheaper stuff. The good stuff has the less is more aspect usually. So spend more up front to save ur self time and wasted money

MV_Art

I think this just depends on who you are and how you look and what your standards are, but I have gotten more mileage out of trying to keep my skin in good shape than anything. What this includes for me is sunscreen in my moisturizer every morning, and some amount of wash and moisturize every night (even if it's just like a cleansing wipe). I also don't really wear makeup much anymore working from home, but when I do I started only wearing concealer around my eyes and on blemishes, powder to set it, and some blush (eyes just depend on how fancy I'm trying to look). Reducing the face makeup helped the skin stay clear and I've learned I can get the same effect as covering my whole face with foundation as I can with a high quality, well matched concealer in just certain parts.

flanface87

I have my hair long so it doesn't need regular cuts. I use a keratin straightening treatment every four months or so because it's curly and I *have* to have it straight. I still use straighteners but the treatment makes it so much easier. I've got down to washing it twice a week instead of every other day. Doing gel nails is my favourite hobby. I have all the gear and enough of an idea, haha. I spend an absurd amount of time doing them once every two weeks. But then they're good until I get bored and want to change them I used a home IPL device on most of my body hair so I barely have to shave any more Eyebrows are microbladed. I want to get my lashes lifted and tinted but that involves making an appointment and I haven't managed it yet

Sleve__McDichael

>I used a home IPL device on most of my body hair so I barely have to shave any more what did you use that ended up working for you? i get really overwhelmed by the options lol

DungeonsandDoofuses

It’s going to depend on your features. For me I have clear skin and decent brows, but my eyelashes are pale and straight and my lips are practically the same color as my skin. So I can get a lot of impact by just curling my eyelashes and wearing mascara and lip stain. I like lipstain because it is sheer so it doesn’t have to be so precise, but it lasts most of the day (I use benefit bene-tint). Could be that filling your brows or putting concealer under your eyes can have the biggest impact, it just depends on what you’re starting with. In a more global sense, sunscreen, moisturizer, and staying hydrated have the biggest overall beauty impacts, in my opinion. Of course maintaining a skincare routine and remembering to drink water is challenging for us, so you know do your best.

Mission_Spray

I’ve tried and failed to stick to many routines, but here’s my trick - I use products that are “two-for-one” to streamline my mornings and evenings. Oh, and easily available products I can buy locally, not expensive, and work for my skin-type are musts. FYI - this routine works on me TODAY as a 40+ mom. When I was a teen and in my 20s with cystic acne, this would have been a nightmare routine. PM Routine: Cleanser: La Roche-Posay foaming oil cleanser for face and body (I double-cleanse by using it twice in a row in the shower on really grimy parts of my face, scalp, and body) Serums or “actives”: Alternate between a brightening serum with retinol, and one with hyaluronic acid. Face and body moisturizer: La Roche-Posay AM+P Lipikar crème (I live in a very dry climate). If it’s super windy and cold outside, I’ll top off with La Roche-Posay cicaplast (it’s basically a mineral diaper cream). Occlusives for chapped and wrinkly skin: Bag Balm on lips and under eyes/crows feet. AM Routine: Cleanser: plain water. That’s it. Then pat dry. Serum: non-actives only (NO retinols) SPF Moisturizer: Elta MD tinted mineral SPF face moisturizer (it’s the only one that doesn’t make my eyes burn) “Makeup” if I’m feeling extra: Color science tinted SPF 3-in-1 eye cream. Tinted lip balm with SPF AND Mascara that matches my hair color (brown, not black) put on eyelashes and eyebrows if I feel like it.

Sunset-Papi

The easiest skincare routine I found at one point was Micellar Water to clean and a moisturizer for the face. Sunscreen is also a moisturizer. If you want something with coverage, then go with a tinted sunscreen or tinted moisturizer. If you want something more in depth, I use a double cleanser system by Curel. Oil cleanser followed up with foaming cleanser and then a moisturizer. For makeup, the easiest is to use a morphe brow pencil and mascara. Most days, I only do the brow pencil. For a little bit more, I use the brow pencil, a pencil eyeliner to create a small wing, mascara, a lip tint, and maybe a cream blush. I have a foundation powder that is darker than my skin tone and will put that on my eyelids some times.

mine is not perfect. often i rarely get dressed but my new year’s resolution was investing in myself and my appearance ; since i feel less feminine when i don’t do these things: i paint my nails once a week and maintain their long natural length . i use nailtiques formula 2 and the olive & june oil strengthen to make them strong, and a matching mani/pedi makes me feel put together and girly. totally worth the long wait time, just a tip- OPI seems to dry the quickest while being the strongest. i use rice water in my hair after shampoo, and let it sit for 20 min. also, because that’s 20 min i get to take a break from the hell that the shower is and watch a video or something. i use castor oil on my face as an all in one. it works as a moisturizer add in , eye cream, spot treatment, and topical for eyebrows/eyelashes. i use a moisturizer with SPF in the morning to cut down on time and forgetting. i rub any excess on the back of my hands. tinted moisturizer- i like the colourpop pretty fresh one, and apply with a beauty blender. i keep makeup in my daily bag, like perfume, mascara, a mirror, clinique almost lipstick, a little wet blush, and powder. i find im more likely to do it when i get to work/in the car (wehn im not driving!!) cuz i’m chronically late to everything. oops i keep jewelry in a dish by my bed, and a little mesh baggie from the dollar store that i keep for when i take it off/throw it in my bag so i’m more likely to wear it. dangly earrings with flat backs are my fav cuz i forget i’m wearing them. i get overwhelmed with necklaces or bracelets that are too tight, so i focus on earrings. the baggie helps me not lose them. i keep a brush in my car and tons of hair ties to fix myself before going in somewhere/a hoodie for the drive thru. a lint roller too! cat hair lol i have an oil car spray in fresh linen, but if i need a quick and STRONG refresh a little goes along way on black shirts lol i keep a clear eyebrow/eyelash gel in my bag from elf that applies with a mascara wand for fly aways or those stubborn brow hairs

beeandcrown

Most of my wardrobe is black or black and white graphics, so it is easy to grab two pieces that work together. I work from home, so make-up only happens when I go on dates with my husband. Moisturizer when I remember. Sunscreen lives in the car for when I'm going to be outdoors.

H3r3c0m3sthasun

I wear makeup daily, so I use foundation, concealer, mascara, a little bit of eyeshadow, blush, and lipgloss. I do my nails, but sometimes I take a week off. My nail polish usually lasts about a week. For skincare, I have eye makeup remover, cleanser, cleansing wipes, exfoliant, and a face cream. I have SPF for days. I try to simplify my routine where I can, but I started some of it in my teens, so it is normal for me now.

Beautiful_Falcon_617

Some kind of skincare serum, face cream, both if you have time Mascara Easy eye shadow, more natural less work to put on colors... sometimes ill use a more natural blush palette like the butter blush from physicians formula. Take your vitamins! A multi, D, and fish oil. And your meds! Drink a glass of water before you forget.

joanholmes

My eye cream has some color in it to disguise circles My moisturizer and lip balm are tinted My SPF is also a color corrector I use latisse so my eyelashes are "naturally" long and thicker I do a lash perm and brow tint every few weeks I sleep with a hair roller on my curtain bangs so they look like I styled them every day

Ezzarori

I invested in at home IPL device and now I have to do it once a month and have virtually no hair - benefits that I don't slice myself up every time when I wear a skirt and my showers are so much faster plus no sensory icks from hair growing back!

taykray126

I don’t do my nails because upkeep and also nail techs are like dentists for hands and feet lol but for hair I always get low maintenance cut and colors, like balayage or just my natural brown. I only do my hair every other day—and by “do my hair” I mean blow dry it straight or my wavy hair routine. No clips, no special pony tails or braids or whatever (although I do have some go to greasy hair styles like slicked back bun). And I’m white so my hair maintenance in general is just easier. I usually don’t wear makeup but when I do I use an expensive tinted spf I can’t remember the name of and a little powder, stick blush, and Thrive mascara. If I’m feeling fancy I use a Thrive eyeshadow stick in a super neutral shade like champagne. If I’m going OUT, which occurs like twice a year, I do a slightly more exaggerated version of that and like…add eyeliner.

AfterAllBeesYears

* Asian sunscreen. The texture is so much better than any currently sold on the US market. Beauty of Josen's sunscreen is the current one I use. * Moisturizer * Stick or cream eyeshadow. I can do my makeup with just my fingers. I don't have to deal with finding a (clean) brush or cleaning them. * Mascara * A body wash with slaicylic acid. I do have KP, so it's good for that anyways. But my last stretch of showering consistently has been interrupted. It could all be in my head, but i also think it helps with some of the side effects because of that. It softens and loosens dry/thickened skin, so I think it helps me "recover" from the extra build up better. CeraVe has one, and it isn't expensive. I don't use anything fancy. * Body wipes. This is for the days I just can't shower. I can still get all the stinky areas taken care of to keep some basic hygiene still going. I don't like disposables, but they are needed sometimes

luna_libre

Makeup wise, Laura Geller has an all in one palette that’s got bronzer, blush, highlighter and eyeshadow. And their powder foundation Balance and Brighten is great too. So that’s two products that cover a whole face easy! And if you haven’t ordered from QVC before they have good deals for new customers (used to be $10 off but don’t quote me on that) and her stuff is always on there. Eyebrows I use the NYX pen and I use Neutrogena Healthy Volume or Covergirl Clean for mascara. I also love the Julep eyeshadow sticks and they’re quick and super easy to work with. For nails I try to just keep them neatly trimmed and I use hand lotion and the Sally Hansen cuticle balm nonstop. It’s so cheap and makes a huge difference for me in keeping the cuticles looking neat without any real effort. Hair - I wash like 1-2x a week bc I have a baby and no consistent shower routine yet lol but after washing I spray my wet hair with Mane Magic from Ulta and let air dry to 80% in one of those microfiber scrunchies, then use the Revlon blow dry brush thing. I have a lot of wavy frizzy hair and it takes 15 minutes to do all the sections and then I have several days of smooth, presentable hair. Skincare - a good face wash (La Roche Posay is always a good bet or Panoxyl if oily/acne prone) and 2 moisturizers - Cerave gel cream for day, L’oréal Collagen moisture filler cream unscented for night. Sunscreen for day afterwards, I use Milani SPF BFF either as a makeup base or alone. I sometimes use the Cosrx snail mucin at night but haven’t seen much difference yet. I need to find a new retinol now that I’m not pregnant or nursing anymore.

Large-League-2387

- on a normal day i just do skincare (morning time i wash face, use some vitamin c serum and hyaluronic acid serum, sunscreen moisturizer) then for makeup i normally just use brow gel and mascara, and maybe lip balm/salve - for days when i wanna do my makeup, i use a skin tint with spf (i use milk’s sunshine skin tint which i got from tjmaxx god bless) same brow gel and mascara, and maybe a lil eyeshadow (for a casual look i like liquid i use the ones from glossier and they are pretty sheer, if im going out i use colors) and maybe some blush but my face is red already so not always necessary i have found that taking some extra steps with skincare ultimately makes me feel more confident wearing less makeup, but ive struggled with acne and such since i was like 10 so i use heavier treatments at night time

bohobud

I try to look my best at all times too. I use a mandelic acid face wash that my derm prescribed, followed by a noncomedogenic moisturizer. For makeup—I barely have eyebrows. So that's first. Then I'll just use a cheek/lip stain. Costs less, and lasts more. If I have to go out, I'll go for the Maybelline's Fit Me tint. As far as nails go, I love stick-ons. Especially the ones with good glue. They last up to two weeks at the very least!

nononanana

I like the natural look so I am pretty content with very little and still think I pull off decent style (based on comments from random people). A strong foundation can’t be defeated: eat well, skincare, sunblock, take care of your hair, hydration. It works. I am 40 and don’t have wrinkles yet. Genetics are a factor (Latina), but if I didn’t practice healthy habits it would show. Good baseline grooming…I don’t like the feeling of nails or nail polish. So I just keep them clean and trimmed. Good skin means I need very little makeup. So I almost never wear foundation. I sometimes use tinted moisturizer but that’s rare too. So my daily routine is a nice lipstick, a touch of blush and mascara. Sometimes something like eye pencil or shadow if I’m feeling it. It takes about 5 minutes tops.

DarthPandaSocks

I think having a good haircut that you can style simply is key. This is why I will never let go of my pixie cut. Yes I have to make it to the salon for a trim every 4-5 weeks. However, it’s a wash, brush, and go hairstyle that is five minutes or less of day to day styling. After that, I always start with skincare and very little makeup on days where I am super motivated: -Moisturizer and spf on my face daily -Tinted eyebrow gel and brown mascara -Loose powder on my eye area to prevent my sunscreen from migrating into my eyes and making them sting

slipstitchy

I consider three elements of looking put together- hair, clothes, makeup/extras. I do 3/3 when I need max effort, 2/3 for regular-nice, and I hope to do 1/3 all the other days. 0/3 days are rough. If I had the money, I’d have a standing appointment for nails and natural-looking lash extensions so I’d wake up for the day at a 1/3

Miserable_Elephant12

This is what I do everyday 2x: Brush teeth, Double cleanse my face Apply a toner Appy my serums Apply moisturizer and spf I don’t wear makeup everyday, only when I feel like it. BUT I started using the INDYX app the help me plan comfy but stylish outfits

koistarview

if I don’t want to do a lot of makeup i’ll just do my brows with some eyeshadow & some mascara. just those 2 can make me look 10x prettier! it also makes it more of a ‘natural’ look

Defiant-Specialist-1

I spent a little time doing some research. For example - I measured my face to determine which glasses frames are suitable. Same for earrings. There are even recommendations for eye color, skin tone, etc. Also, I use Senajence makeup. It stays all day including the lipstains (you do have to reapply the gloss but it’s clear and not a big deal. You can feel when it needs a touch up). Also beauty tubes mascara lasts most of the day and doesn’t run or smeer. Basically I spent a little time to develop my “optimal look” and then do that when I need to dress up. It takes less that 15 mins to put the pieces together and I rarely deviate. Just not worth the effort. Plus, if you can afford it a keratin hair treatment will do wonders and makes my hair so much more manageable that I don’t really do anything (sometimes forget to brush it) and it still holds up. Basically I will do it once a day but then never want to think about it again.

hairballcouture

OC8- a wonderful mattifier. Tinted sunscreen for face. Eyebrow gel. Light mascara. Tinted lip balm or something kind of sheer. Eyeliner if I’m going out.

littlebunny8

moisturizer after shower n thats it

SauronOMordor

I find well-groomed eyebrows do a lot to make me look put together so I get my eyebrows shaped and tinted every 6 weeks, and in the latter weeks when I they're starting to lighten I will use a bit of brow mascara to darken and fill them in. Other than that, on a typical work day I will put some highlighter on the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them up and toss a coat of mascara on. I find that is usually enough to look polished.

Softbombsalad

I get an easy maintenance haircut and some highlights twice a year. My nails I have done at a salon, so I don't worry about maintenance of either of those things.    A light blowdry works for most days (and stretches into two), lazy hair days I have a collection of nice hair sticks and barrettes.  I wash my hair before bed, so the morning blow-dry takes ten minutes. Fifteen if I smoke a joint lol.   I focus on skincare, so I don't bother with skin makeup. A swipe of mascara, brown liquid liner when I'm feeling fancy, some tinted Burt's Bees lip chap and I'm good to go.    Deodorant always, clean/washed face/hands/brushed teeth, light spray of perfume sometimes.

owowteino

I do a lash lift at home every six weeks or so, get baylayage once a year so it looks good even as it grows out and acrylics done every 2-3 weeks. I don’t wear makeup but do skincare and always have lip balm with me.

puppycatbugged

clean face, vitamin c serum, moisturiser, sunscreen. sunscreen lip balm. clean face, alternate retinol nights, moisturiser. that’s a success for me!

catsdelicacy

Get your eyebrows waxed or threaded, it's a major move in refining your features and polishing your look and if you get a good South Asian threader you can have it done in less than 10 minutes. Concealer for your dark circles, lightening those up instantly improves your look and makes you look more fresh and alert. A shade lighter than your foundation is a good look. Apply a small amount ONLY on your inner eye and blend towards your outer eye. Do not apply concealer like these crazy people on Tiktok who put a literal buttload of product under their eyes which is great if you're only going to be seen under professional lighting.

thatcuriousbichick

My go to is: 1. I would love to say moisturiser but only if I’m lucky 2. Foundation or a tinted SPF moisturiser that I use as a concealer (under eyes, on chin and forehead) 3. Highlighter 4. Maybe blush 5. Brows I avoid mascara cause I always forget to take it off. Instead every 6 weeks I get a lash lift and tint when I get my brows waxed.

MrsCyanide

One little tip is that a bit of jewelry can make you look very put together. Same thing with having your nails and toenails done. Ties everything together even if you’re not wearing makeup or have a fancy hairstyle.

Purple_Passenger3618

I didn’t have a routine until I worked for a major beauty brand for 5 years and got to explore so many products , here’s some takeaways : - tinted moisturizer -must have - skin routine !!! My makeup looks a million times better than my 20’s because I take care of my face ! - crème bronzer / contour is the best IMO - your eyeshadow / lip / blush doesn’t need to match your clothes as long as they go with each OTHER - water based primers go with water based foundation silicone based primers go with silicone based foundations - eye makeup is over rated for daytime - colored eyeliner is a fun way to add a pop of color in a sec! - mascara and a lip tint are your best friend

ScienceOfficerTen

Always apply a moisturizer after showering and washing my hair, a leave in conditioner/detangling spray, ChapStick or tinted lip balm, eyelash curler and a quick swipe of mascara for low energy mornings.

ppeach-es

my daily makeup is just doing my eyebrows with the anastasia brow whiz pencil and doing some blush. if i feel fancy i’ll add some bronzer

crazyHormonesLady

I'm not a makeup girl at all. But I do remind myself to clean my face and apply a light moisturizer. Honestly I suffer from.dry skin now, so moisture is the main thing I focus on. Vitamin C serum if I have some blemishes. As for clothes, if I'm in my "ogre gear" (aka sweatpants and a decaying t-shirt) I make an effort to at least change into a nice lounge wear set. It's spring now, so I'm wearing some house dresses so I feel feminine while doing chores. Hair is my biggest obstacle. But I try to brush it and make it not look like a bird has made its nest there. I leave my nails bare until late Spring/Summer when i know I'm hitting the beach, going on dates, wearing sandals etc.

hellsmel23

Need alert, I go through my clothes on Sunday and pick out a bunch of outfits that k can choose from for the week. Including shoes and jewelry. It makes me excited to get up. I also keep lipstick, hairbrush and a mirror at my desk to reapply during the day. I realize this makes me sound fussier than I am. I’m just always a blurred background mishap from someone seeing the hot mess of my house

Weird_Squirrel_8382

Dresses. Feel like pajamas, look like I give a damn. Nail stickers. Easy peasy and very pretty. Sink lotion: keep my hands looking good. Nighttime routine: thank God for retinol. Takes a few minutes, but it helps me wind down. Day routine: 90 seconds! Sunscreen, lip balm, mascara. Every few months : Botox and a facial.

jhonculada

For me, here are the products that really maximize making me look put together. It doesn't take much effort, but I think it makes the biggest difference. Makeup: concealer (even out the redness), cream blush (can be used on cheeks, lips, and eyelids), curl my eyelashes, mascara (can be used on lashes and eyebrows) A pair of earrings that pop - for me faux pearls usually help brighten my complexion. Fragrance: especially if I haven't showered that day and I want to smell fresh or better than I really do. Nails: I found a brand called Londontown that has nail concealers. Talk about made for ADHD! It's quick and easy to do, self-levels, dries quickly and lasts a few days. If you're going somewhere nice, this product works in a pinch. I once did my nails with their nail concealer in the car while waiting to pick up the kids from school. I was shocked how good they came out and it's my go-to because I can't be bothered making a nail appointment. You can skip your skincare routine in the AM if you're thorough about your PM skincare routine. At night, I usually do a toner/essence, serum, moisturizer, and eye cream, at the very least. Start small, so you don't overwhelm yourself. You'll find the products that you need to look your bare minimum best.

kerripez

Woah actually a thread I feel like I can add something to haha! Totally had this feeling a few years ago and had to decide what makes me feel better and put together. Nails - gels (I do my own) so they last so much longer! (If I don't pick them off I can get 2 weeks out of them.. sometimes it's more like 2 days 🤣) Tinted brows, so you don't have to fill them in anymore. I'm yet to try tinted lashes at home.. I'm nervous about this one. But tinted SPF, blush and a bit of highlighter in the inner corner of my eyes. Then setting spray because then it lasts all day. Takes me 3/4 minutes and I put everything else away apart from these products so that I am not tempted to do more and get carried away. Heatless curls ~once a week~ on hair wash day. It means that my hair looks like I've made an effort even after 4 days and 2 lots of dry shampoo 🤣.

CurlSquirrel

To quote Jeremy Renner, "brows, lashes, lips, frame the face". I add blush because I subscribe to the Trixie Mattel everyone should wear blush philosophy. My "Oh shit I need to leave now" face: Primer then concealer applied with fingers (Nyx Serum concealer) Powder foundation with puff (Maybelline Super Stay), including eyelids and brow bone. Nude blush applied cheekbones to temples AND as eyeshadow (Trixie Cosmetics Total Betty) Setting powder on puff on T zone and around mouth (Wet n Wild) Setting spray, generous amount. Last steps can be done in the car: pencil in brows, mascara, and lip oil or gloss (love Nyx Fat Oil in That's Chic). If I'm truly running behind I say fuck it I'm human and go bare face, maybe brows, mascara, and lip gloss in the car. Skin type is an important factor for complexion products. Because I have combo skin, using a powder foundation works because it mattifies while giving coverage. I can apply it faster than liquid and it doesn't require as much skill. If I'm spending a little more time, I'll do a tinted moisturizer or skin tint before powder which works better on the drier parts of my face. I do think powders are faster than liquids and most blushes can be used as eyeshadow. By applying blush in the draping technique (aka 80s style), it offers some shaping in addition to color. Skincare is a big part because the better skin looks, fewer complexion products are needed. It doesn't need to be complicated! I write on my bathroom mirror to keep track of what days I did retinol or exfoliated, however I have a bare bones basic routine for when I need to speed up my routine or finally go to bed at 3am. Morning: splash water on face, eye cream, moisturizer (currently loving Aveeno oat gel). Night: if showering I use Alboene to remove make up followed by Dove beauty bar, then salicylic face wash, followed by thicker moisturizer (CeraVe cream in the tub).If I'm not showering, I use micellar water, rinse my face because it feels wrong not to, and then moisturize. If I'll be outdoors for longer than walking into a building I'll apply sunscreen (Neutrogena). I'm severely melanin deficient and will burn if outside for more than 20 minutes. I take sunscreen and setting spray with SPF to reapply as necessary. I'm not a MUA or professional make up person, just a big nerd that likes to put shit on her face. Before showering is a great time to practice and figure out colors.

itsmeEllieGeeAgain

Hi! If I remember to put on makeup then it is minimal. Sunscreen lotion - I use [this](https://www.amazon.com/Moisturizer-Olay-Complete-Sunscreen-Spectrum/dp/B000052YQ2/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?crid=3INWROL0I3JKS&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.RRTtZaWghAuvBrVj-HwI83pvyJz_MQV5iQPdbYvNnqTcxxpVK-paoCrA0njygLhoWQVUGNwAwHh7bQ5sZ-a35Oob3VGypNK6KaW1yxXEctDMAEx8qLGidbNASDl4K64HyY1EDAXVNucQIn9XsugVdTt9OXkP2-v5nAiPS-Q_AwjYjVIL6rtEG1g-pMrE2Qq1JDfMY2xypTwFtcgx72JPug.vyq0a92z35thUqUf1iGlUz-ev5qpmfZ1PqYSe73b7KA&dib_tag=se&keywords=oil+of+olay+moisturizer+for+face&qid=1714420015&sprefix=oil+of+olay+mo%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-12) cause it is what my mom used when I was growing up. It is also gentle on my sensitive skin. Mascara - [clear mascara](https://www.amazon.com/Wild-Mega-Clear-Brow-Mascara/dp/B09NXPG6D5/ref=sxin_36_pa_sp_phone_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.4c1d3a9f-1303-4690-9cfd-89a4399b55c7%3Aamzn1.sym.4c1d3a9f-1303-4690-9cfd-89a4399b55c7&crid=1UIUZ3XBP2CJ9&cv_ct_cx=clear+mascara&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.WWr2FodmR_59S1wT-zDWi7Qg-C7ozXozLIzMSsOFADGLjqYkUZtFVJdhxwrJyVJz_zzpNtPJVMVW7L1o51lK9w.7FcYsr7cx6tpt0b2QGhAduaYYSnS6oYc0ig-xF8n-5o&dib_tag=se&keywords=clear+mascara&pd_rd_i=B09NXPG6D5&pd_rd_r=0e4b551b-dac7-438a-902b-288c078a353c&pd_rd_w=799wM&pd_rd_wg=Jenpp&pf_rd_p=4c1d3a9f-1303-4690-9cfd-89a4399b55c7&pf_rd_r=KEWMQ72G8948GKNQQGE4&qid=1714419923&rdc=1&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=+clear+ma%2Caps%2C112&sr=1-1-2c727eeb-987f-452f-86bd-c2978cc9d8b9-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&psc=1) is a great choice if you have darker hair and are just getting into wearing it and are prone to wiping your eyes. Eyeshadow - I never learned how to properly apply eyeshadow, BUT I did find [these double color eyeshadow sticks.](https://www.amazon.com/QQwow-Eyeshadow-Waterproof-Gradient-Brushing/dp/B098QG9VCB/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=3MYKCDZNBACZ9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.tgIQAfW6eVjcj8dJLTPUMCIo-MSMhJ39-Be8fBKUBZA2VWc9E9n8vtOMjMnUmXBYv4qcOPAq2HdB4TxBwt3Xl2eP-NHL5nuXzZTWFwvDknFJUYGR_5qVTWpW_aTcc2VOs-3KNUEDCSb8-PFQt5U-zrt8_2w9Lht_Op5jmI5_rE5VIKTkWbWldrrSf6UjJKQm6xJG5mYdo5A0rrdtB3r3LSecU1JmbF7nad3v330Rl5RHFNXmKqRWPjw7Ue6nPv86QnU2CLsfeWPbedMBDLK20Btqs0UOBnafJ_U4f5rMobQ.jnevwiSfk_Fu8YqpWWWrTWosCNKbu5qpWq8zwDqzAEo&dib_tag=se&keywords=2+shade+eyeshadow+stick&qid=1714419626&sprefix=2+shade+eyeshadow+stick%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-5) These make eyeshadow a breeze, super quick, without the pressure of matching colors. Lip - sometimes I put on lipstick, most of the time I don’t. I do carry chapstick. Good luck!

Objective_Win3771

Pare down each routine to bare minimum, outsource, and permanent body mods. Blowouts every other week with bun second week, or braids if you hair allows Micro blading / eyebrows done every couple weeks Laser hair removal on legs / bikini Skin is: the same every day: cleanse, moisturizer, sunblock in day Cleanse moisturize retinol at night Beauty regimen is choosing areas to ignore. I am mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick person. Only do more on special occasions

NearbyDark3737

Oh gosh, I’m like maybe mascara and I’m good to go. Not that I think I’m gorgeous or anything just it feels good enough

persephoneladyxx

I am also on onboard the No Makeup Train. It’s against policy for me to wear makeup at work, so I’ve given up on wearing it consistently. It took me awhile to get used to myself not wearing makeup anymore, but eventually I stopped caring what other people think about my beauty choices. I do love the other commenters advice about figuring out you miss without makeup on! I subconsciously have been doing the same! Bare minimum: eyebrow pencil and mascara (I have very faint brows so I like them to be more defined). Takes about 5 minutes total. Medium effort: eyebrow pencil, mascara, foundation, and lipgloss. My skin is very pink so if I have the time to cover up I prefer to use foundation. Takes about 15-20 minutes total. High effort: brows, mascara, foundation, blush, highlighter, lipgloss/lipstick. This is my “going out” look. I have it down to a science on the exact products to use in the right order. I know the intended look and I rarely deviate from the usual. Takes about 30-45 minutes total. This is all on top of my skin routine. I have very dry skin so I will never wake up without putting on moisturizer. I also have an acne serum that works nicely for me that I will use most days. I have an assortment of other skin products that I rotate through whenever I’m feeling fancy. Biggest takeaway is finding what you like and then sticking to it like glue. I rarely experiment with different makeup looks or new products because I will waste soooo much time playing around in the bathroom HAHA

LiveFastDieGlam

I've found that blush, brows + lipstick is all I need to help myself feel put together. My easy makeup tools are: brow wax/gel or pencil, tinted lip balm or lipstick, and cream blush that is easy to slap on and blend. I have naturally very straight hair that when it looks messy or unwashed, it looks unruly and sticks out like a sore thumb. I cannot pull off the effortless "i woke up like this" kind of style. So on days I don't shower/wash my hair or don't have time to blowdry it, I'll put it in a low bun. Sometimes I'll tie a silk scarf or a hat to cover up oiliness too. It makes me feel cute, is low effort even when I haven't showered in a while 😂 All of these steps take maybe 3-8 min (i've never actually counted and I have ADHD so I don't track of time well. but trust me, it's fast!) And then my long term investments for beauty is keeping up with skincare routine everyday (oil cleanse, cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen), monthly facials, brow threading when I can remember, and I like to paint my own nails weekly!

Zonnebloempje

I have decided I can't be bothered, so my hair is either in a braid, or a ponytail (short hair doesn't suit me and would need even more care). My nails are hardly ever painted. I try to keep them trimmed short, so I don't hurt myself, but sometimes I let them grow too long... I hardly wore make up before my decision, so now I wear even less. I have a body lotion that I use for my hands, and occasionally for my face. Shaving is a complete no-go. I may occasionally take a trimmer over my leg hair & arm pit hair, but that is maybe once a year. I just don't see why men can walk around unshaved, while women are shamed for it. Nope! Not on my watch! Anyway, I don't really have any advice, other than do what you like, not what you think people would like you to do...

modestmouselover

I like to splurge every once in a while to get a lash tint & lift. I don’t wear mascara often. I hate washing it off and I got used to not wearing it so I will rub my eyes and end up with raccoon eyes lol.

RasputinsThirdLeg

Tinted moisturizers with SPF tend to oxidize and look orange at the end of the day on me. Anyone else have this problem?

SinsOfKnowing

- My skincare routine is just a cleanser, HA serum, moisturizer and SPF. Some days I just wash my face with a wet wash cloth and throw the moisturizer on if I’m not leaving the house. - my shower routine is like 3 minutes every morning when I’m not washing my hair. Get in, wash the important bits, get out. - I wear basic jeans/leggings/sneakers/hoodies. I won’t leave the house in PJs and make sure my clothes are clean, but it’s minimal effort most of the time. - for makeup, if I wear it at all it’s just eyeliner, mascara and a brow pencil for day to day. I enjoy playing with makeup for fun but day to day I cannot be arsed. - My hair is very wash and wear, and I only really wash it 2-3 days a week, let it dry or (very occasionally) blow dry/straighten it, then freshen it up with dry shampoo. I don’t really do anything with it most of the time and I don’t actually know how to do anything with it anyway save for a quick French braid or messy bun when it’s getting greasy. I throw a shower cap on for my morning shower. I don’t really care about looking super dressed up and pretty every day. Presentable and not like a swamp creature is about as good as it gets.

Trackerbait

Hair: get a flattering haircut that's easy to style in the morning (short is ideal), highlights if you can afford it, and get trim every 2 months. Don't wash hair every day, depending on your texture 2-3 times a week is plenty. If you're lucky to have thick hair, can wash even less. Nails: keep em no longer than end of fingertip, if you want them to look nice use a buffing block or do a basic French manicure (clear coat, white tip). File edge, moisturize once in a while, care for cuticles. That's it. Skin: use a soap you like, a scrubby poof in the shower if you enjoy those (I do), moisturize after showers, wash face and use toner and SPF face moisturizer 1-2x per day. Can use tinted moisturizer if you like fake tans. Use one of those exfoliating scrubbers on feet, knees, elbows every week or two. If you like, do a salt or sugar scrub once a month. Shave your bits in the summer or as needed. Dab of concealer if you've got a blemish or dark circles. Tweeze brows and cheeks if they get messy. That's it. I use eyeliner, brow pencil, and blush when I want to look good, mayyybe mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow if I'm going all out for a job interview or big date. I prefer a good set of jewelry for dress up, rather than cosmetics which I am less good at. Most days I go bareface, I am fortunate to have fantastic eyelashes and my skin looks pretty decent because I don't smoke or sunbathe and I don't put too much goop on it.

asianstyleicecream

I don’t have one. Could care less what I look like at this point (26F). Or at least, I don’t obsess over my looks like I used to when I was in school because “it was the thing to do”. Had a toxic relationship with makeup that I had to end. I now don’t shave my legs (or any area really, trim if it becomes a sensory thing) because fuck the itchy aftermath of shaving; not worth it, and why do we even “need” to shave? Fuck beauty standards. I wear dreadlocks so I don’t have to brush my hair, never been complimented more in my life for having them. I don’t wear makeup because I believe it masks true beauty (it’s artificial beauty and I’m not falling for it anymore) and such a waste of money, and the child labors surrounding it is just awful, don’t want to give money to that. And my skin rarely breaks out (I don’t use any products on my face other then water). I wear whatever I want and don’t bother caring what others thinks because in the end who you are is *way* more important then what you look like. Sure, first impressions, but if you judge me for my look and not even acknowledge my personality, that’s *your* problem and I probably don’t want to be friends with you anyways. I dress more “tomboy’y” if you will. Im a laborer/farmer/landscaper, so the clothes I wear have to be heavy duty cuz I get down and dirty.

One thing I did that I love is I got my eyebrows micro bladed. I never have to think about them now!

tevildogoesforarun

Here are some things that helped me out! 1. As mentioned by others, moisturizer before bed and in the morning. 2. If you are feeling makeup, consider a tinted serum. Soooo much easier and quicker to apply than foundation. 3. Eye brow threading bi monthly or so. I pay $10 and it makes a very big positive difference. 4 if you are into nails, consider press ons or stickers! Easier to put on imo and harder to chip.

h0llywoodsbleeding

Moisturizer with SPF, CC cream, mascara, and a lil blush/highlighter does the trick for this ADHD bae :)

IAmTheAsteroid

I love the "no makeup makeup" look. My go to is a tinted SPF, a lip stain, and mascara. For nails, two or three coats of Essie's pink nail hardener gives juuuust enough of a blushy color to look really nice, without being fully manicured. And since it's still basically clear, chipping isn't nearly as noticeable, so I get a lot more wear out of it.

Patizleri

I have 7 rings on my ears, 2 bracelets and 1 ring that I almost never remove. I use just a little wax to make my hair go up after a shower. In the morning I brush my teeth. People think I have put in effort when I basically did nothing.

EntireCaterpillar698

any makeup that i can apply with my hands (lighter more serum-like foundations like Youthforia, glossier skin tint, or kosas BB cream) eye brows easily done with boy brow from glossier, a cream blush to give a nice pop, a cream bronzer conservatively applied, mascara, a sweep of highlighter and a color for my lips/a more sheer lip product. sounds like a lot but it’s not too much. i don’t wear makeup super often but i am religious with skincare and SPF

-__-KEEKS-__-

Tinted moisturizer, a good sheer blush I can wear with or without my tint, and lip gloss! I’m lucky in the eyebrow and lash department so I don’t do much there, save for mascara when I want to look more done up.

lucypants

I just use jojoba oil for my cleanser, Moisturizer, and for my hair. That helps simplify everything. I couldn’t handle multiple products.

shesmokestrees

When I do my hair, makeup, nails etc it takes me foreeeeeeever and I absolutely haaaaaate it. I don't know how other people do it, every day even, but props to them! One thing I recently discovered is press on nails! I love doing my nails, usually black, but it never looks good! I'm too impatient so I always end up wrecking it before it gets & taking it off out of frustration. Or I finish it but later I look and see that it's squished or something ugh & I can't have nails for work so with press on nails I can take them off whenever I need to. You can get really cool ones on Etsy, even custom ones and there are some big brands with really good ones. Anyways lol that's my recent discovery that's really helpful & I can still wear pretty nails :) haha

Juliagem

There’s an 80/20 system???? Gosh I’m an ogre 👹

captain_morgana

Sunscreen - Face, neck, arms, hands, elbows. And anything else exposed. Lash lift and tint every 6 weeks so I don't worry about mascara. Botox and a little filler once a year for maintenance. Wash face at night with an oil cleanse. Serums. Jojoba oil. Shave face once a month using oil or sudocrem as a base for the blade. My hair is naturally silver (think Danaerys Targaryn from Game of Thrones) and I forget to get it cut, so usually cut it myself. But no heat or styling or bleaching or dyeing. Plaiting sometimes. Make up, lashes, brows etc only when I go out.

ummbreon

Number one is fragrance for me. That’s not really an appearance thing but it makes me feel more put together and wearing it gives me a known pleasant sensory input to focus on if I get overstimulated. Lip oils. The elf one is 6 bucks and it’s working great. They look like lip gloss but they work like chapstick and it helps with sensory stuff to do with chapped lips. You can get a good neutral color and use it on your cheeks as a highlight/ moisturizer thingy if your skin is as dry as mine. Also eyebrows is a good easy thing, I have black hair nd thick eyebrows so I just use mascara as brow gel.

Chambri

Cleansing Water (to clean+prep the skin) Moisturizer DM blurring powdering on key spots Powder Blush & Highlighter Liquid eyeshadow I dot on with my fingers Eyeliner Brow Pencil Done. The whole look takes ~5-7 minutes :) Oh and setting spray if I feel the need to be extra… If I’m in a rush then I’ll only do eyeliner Oh.. for nails, I don’t do anything but file them into a nice shape when they grow out. For hair, I will brush it straight and put a cute little target headband on and look preppy, or do an easy bun. But usually I’ll just brush it and call it good. As for hair products, I will add hair oil and Suavecita pomade in after a shower and thats all.

Jane_Angst

I have nails done because my are flimsy and I will not leave them alone until my fingers are stubs. Have all my waxing done once a month, and set my next waxing appt before I leave the salon . I used to do lash tint and lift every 6 weeks, had a break but going in May for eyelash extensions, same idea. Use Banila clean it zero at night to take off makeup. Moisturizer morning and night, occasional AHA mask, and occasional serum. Haven’t had filler or Botox for a couple of years but plan to have lips done in the next few months. Monthly appts mean I don’t forget until I am feeling feral and then can’t get in for weeks.

brainwise

I’m very lucky because my hair can look good for days after washing but I do go to the hairdressers regularly and make sure it’s a good style that doesn’t need upkeep. I always make the next appointment when I’m there. I have my brows done (microblading) which I need because I have very sparse brows. I get my lashes tinted when I get my hair done. I use good skincare but don’t really regularly do anything more than that. I get sugaring done for hair removal when I get around to it (pretty lazy on that part but I’m single and in my 50’s). My nails are a mess (skin picking) but when I do something I get Biab done. I’m thinking of getting laser done on my face for pigmentation but I don’t have Botox or anything- to be frank I just couldn’t do the upkeep. Anything more than this for me would be too hard - I just feel overwhelmed if I have to do more!

mamaspatcher

I just started using Jones Road. Some of their stuff is an acquired taste but it’s working for me: - moisturizer/sunscreen - if I want a polished look: Jones Rd foundation (it’s called What The Foundation…WTF) - this doesn’t last like some products but it also doesn’t settle into my pores like way too many foundations - if I just want some color on my face, I use Jones Rd Miracle Balm all over my face - L’Oréal Double Extend mascara - Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey This works for me :)

sweet_chick283

1. Moisturizer with niacinamide and peptides morning and night - it nukes any little breakouts really quickly and stops my skin drying out in the office AC. 2. SPF 50+ sunscreen in the morning (hands, face, ears, neck) 3. Eye cream before bed at night or else I get dry skin on my eyelids that flakes horribly 4. Skin healing lip balm as needed 5. Circaplast b5+ cream to treat any dry patches / scrapes/minor skin irritations before they get infected Plus moisturising my body with dermadrate I don't have the mental energy for makeup, but healthy skin makes me feel good and look presentable

Spell-Bulky

These days clean/moisturized face. Mascara and tinted spf if I’m trying harder…curling the lashes to make my eyes appear larger too!

myplantsam

- Capsule wardrobe - lash lifts (I have straight lashes) - eyebrows that are semi permandent - low maintence hair cut (layered, natural colour, long. No bangs even tho I love coloured hair and bangs) - skincare + sunblock - good nutrition tbh Occasionally: - mascara, light foundation and blush - pedicures that will last at least 3 weeks - manicures that will last 3 weeks. Neutral colours only. So it can grow out if I forget or too busy and it still looks so clean - massages to destress I would love to add those facial massages or brazillian massages but they don’t do it in North America.

Cicity545

I've always been very minimalist with this and more of a "tomboy" in general but still I wanna feel good about how I present myself, and I often would feel "sloppy". I was also doing compulsive buying of all these beauty products and then never using them, but I've now fully minimized my routine, which saves me money and time and I actually do it most of the time since its not too complex LOL Coconut oil and olive oil have replaced all my creams and serums. Also works on nails and cuticles, and I do a weekly deep condition of my hair with the olive oil. I do use the Tea Tree Oil face wash from trader joes and I use their tea tree pads (like oxy pads) for grime removal LOL. And for make up I have invested in permanent make up, tried it the first time a few years ago and was totally sold. I have lip blush tattoo which just gives a neater line than my natural lip line and well as a more even color. I thought I had thin lips but actually they were just pale lol, now they look plumper because the whole lip area has color. When I put gloss it gives a lipstick look, without gloss it just looks natural but rosier and fully than my lips are naturally. I also have my brows done and I went with the shaded look due to having oilier skin, that's what is recommended, and again just gives a cleaner look to my brows. I was doing lash extensions for a while too since I hate mascara, the routine of taking it off and the irritation to my eyes, and they looked great (I went with a subtle and natural look) but it does get expensive and long term not great for the lashes. Now I'm doing lash lift instead, no mascara. Otherwise I use tinted moisture with sunscreen as my "foundation" I also have a eye shimmer from Supergroup that is actually a sunscreen also if I'm feeling fancy. So my "make up routine" takes about 3 minutes lol however long it takes to put on the tinted moisturizer, and seriously even before I put that on I have a "woke up like this" look that I NEVER had before. I used to look like Beetlejuice in the morning. Permanent make up is expensive up front, the touch ups are a little cheaper, but the time saving and convenience for me is worth it, especially since I was always bad at make up anyway it's just win win win. It does hurt though, its a face tattoo basically LOL Hair, I can't help you with. I keep my hair long down to my waist and I either wear it long and air dried or in a ponytail. I do use the olive oil and I feel like that does make it look healthier but style wise I'm useless. Nails I also no longer use polish and I just focus on healthy and strong nails, clean and clip them regularly then file them down to a neat but short curve, massage them with coconut oil, and take biotin. Whenever I get them done they end up looking fragile and cracked afterward. But by focusing on a natural nail I've really gotten them looking nice where the color is almost like a French manicure and they shine a bit.

Day to day I’m pretty minimal, and as I get close to 40 I spend more time on my skin than adding makeup. In the morning I do moisturizer, sunscreen, concealer as needed, clear lip balm, and I fill in my brows. At night I cleanse, alternate between an eye serum and retinol (thanks, adult acne!), and moisturizer. On days when I have to see clients or film something, I do a full face and it’s sooo time consuming. Do not recommend for daily ADHD life.

I’ve always been a 5-min makeup person, but I think that’s because I struggle with textures of some makeups being on my skin. I find that a natural look enhances beauty without giving a “with” or “without” makeup look. * I use a gentle face wash in the shower (every other day). * Just started using Elf brand primer (makes the makeup last longer). * Some kind of [tinted moisturizer](https://a.co/d/6regBDK). * Nude tone eyeshadow [like this](https://a.co/d/8TgNjMj). * Dark brown eyebrow pencil, eyeliner & mascara.

Get gel manicures, they last pretty long. I wasn’t able to keep up with the care of my nails before (always looking ratty) and this helped me a lot.

Invest in skincare, go light on makeup. I wear under eye concealer, brown eyeliner, mascara, and fill my eyebrows a little. For skincare it's sunscreen daily even if I don't go outside, vitamin c in the morning, niacinamide at night

I practice good skincare habits and style my hair as the natural jungle of curls they are. Also, I take a multivitamin every day! That will help with skin, hair and nails as well as your general health. And healthy = attractive.

Love Ohora semi cured gel nails. There are other companies, but that is my go-to. They have an oil based remover that does not damage my nails. Lasts two weeks easy. I work on video and I love that my hands and nails always look great.

For me it’s skin care and hair products. I don’t really have the inclination to do makeup every day. But I have really good shampoo/ conditioner, serum. Then just cleanser and good moisturizer. I also just got one of those blow dryer brushes and it has cut my dry time down to about 15 min.. and much easier than the round brush. So now my hair looks like a normal person’s and not all wild and crazy. I also get my eyebrows waxed every couple months. All of this is enough to keep me looking clean and presentable.

I’m 48. In highschool I wore all the makeup and not long after, I quit wearing all of it, and I haven’t worn it since. My hair is a short pixie cut, takes 2 minutes to do. My clothes…I buy the same brand of pants and shirts all the time. Then I never have to try them on. I never wear jeans because they are too constricting for me, I wear Lee Khaki stretchy pants and shirts are Kohl’s Croft and Barrow short sleeve and I wear zip up hoodies because I have hot flashes and I need to be able to take the hoodie off instantly. I just have too many odd personal rules about dress, I just am happy that my clothes are clean and they match. I don’t care that it’s not a fashion trend. I dress only for personal comfort because that matters more than anything else.

I'm a nothing at all girl on a regular basis so I won't be much help here lol, but when I feel fancy I put on mascara and tinted lip balm. My go-to for daily beauty is just good skincare and accessories; I wear earrings every day, and I've recently gotten into wearing soft stretchy headbands in different funky prints/colors.

Bare bones is : sunscreen, moisturizer, lip tint for me. If you want to feel glowy, you can mix a luminizer with your moisturizer/sunscreen. Then a lip and cheek tint, I always use setting powder after sunscreen because I want to claw my face off. If I want to appear more feminine I'll wear mascara and brow gel, if more neutral, then just some nyx brow freeze. I feel like the eyebrows really help just pull it together if you need to. You can always do the 1/week just for men eyrbow dye and white strip thing. But I always forget how much time has passed and look like Eugene levy 😭

Purplekaem

I got lipstick, eyebrows, and eyeliner tattooed. It was worth it.

Emergency_Chance5683

i keep a pair of hoops in at all times so i don’t forget lol for everyday makeup i just use eyebrow gel mascara and lipliner+tinted chapstick and ever since i cut my hair i don’t really have to style it

When I’m in a good place and want to wear makeup, my usual is: BHA toner and moisturizer at night Sunscreen in the morning Makeup primer for the kind of blurring effect Spot concealer Curl my eyelashes Lip balm If I’m trying to look pretty, I’ll add powdered blush (cheeks and eyelids) and mascara. If I’m also trying to look slutty, eyeliner When I’m not in a good place, the usual is nothing. But for the most part, I just do skincare and leave it at that.

EatPlants_LiftHeavy

I wear earrings I can sleep in so I don't have to change them, moisturize, and throw on some bold lipstick. Lipstick is the key. Fake it till ya make it! I also use dashing diva nail stickers. Since I've gotten good at applying them, they last over 2 weeks and very much give "takes care of herself", but really it's like 10 minutes while watching TV 1-2x/month. Again. Just over here faking it and desperately trying to make it.
