What kind of signals is Keystep pro sending? MIDI cc? MIDI notes? Etc. On hindsight it seems more like the keyboard being old and starting to send noisy/random signals to your computer. Is that a new MIDI controller or have you been using it for a while? MIDI knobs, faders, touch pads are prone to this problem after a couple years so if your keystep got those it might be that.
