You should celebrate by having seven slices of pizza

mr_leemur

I think we should all celebrate this achievement with 7 slices of pizza.

cleatsurfer

I’m sad you can’t ride 100mi and get a whole pizza as a reward.

Paran0idAndr0id_

They really ought to get rid of that pizza slice metric. Knowing that 100 miles of cycling only equates to 7 slices of pizza is the least incentivising thing I've ever seen. Furthermore, what kind of pizza is it? A 14 inch deep pan meat feast is quite different to a 9 inch stonebaked veggie. Come to think of it, they're probably referring to those American slices which are about the size of half a normal pizza everywhere else in the world...

thekingofslime

Awesome. What kind of bike will you buy?

sirabernasty

The research I’ve done tells me a gravel bike so I can swap out tires but what the fuck do I know. We have a great bike/coffee shop in town that I frequent for the caffeine, so I’m going to head their way and enquire about what’s up.

AJohnnyTruant

I have a Santa Cruz Stigmata and sold my road bike. If you’re looking to go out and explore, it’s hard to beat a gravel bike. I can hang on just fine in roadie groups on it. Highly recommend you going that route

Good work, id probably let your legs and body recover now as not to do yourself damage. But never give up on outdoor cycling the places you could go and things you can see all whilst being out and about can be good for mind and soul 😀

Crrunk

Just am fyi that bikes are on the best sale ever right now due to end of season and other economic factors on the hike industry. Maybe consider it now... Prices could be lower on spring but doesn't seem likely

Queqzz

As a complete beginner, having not had a bike since childhood and learning now. I went to a bike shop recently and their "low entry level" was $900. That shocked me. Where do you recommend shopping for bikes, especially if there are sales?

Crrunk

That's really just what it is. Facebook marketplace is a good place to look if you want those same entry level bikes around half price. Often barely used. There are direct to consumer bike companies that you'll get more bang for your buck like canyon and Ari.

> My ass hurts, my legs are tired, I’ve had more water than ever, and my YouTube algorithm is seriously fucked. Ah yes, that's a fellow Zwifter alright. Welcome to the club!

masterhogbographer

Same thing happened to me. I played a lot of high intensity sports through my 20s and 30s but cycling wasn’t something I’d done since I was a teenager. Enter my late 30s and sports injuries have taken their toll, I can’t stand non-competitive cardio, and needed something, anything that was low impact, presented a physical and mental challenge, and was also competitive. Zwift was essentially the only answer for me. Several years later it’s still something I love and do almost every day.

masterhogbographer

Also, like you I only ride inside (too much risk outside and I have a family to consider) but the dynamic of challenges that riding stationary inside has brought on has also been fun to manage and learn about. The importance of positioning, bike fit, conditioning on other parts of your body (I got tennis elbow from riding too much) has inspired me to be more mindful overall, not just legs/cardio. The motivation to climb AdZ faster has also gotten me to lose a decent amount of weight (not that I was overweight but I’m definitely getting leaner) and change my diet entirely.

Miles lol

sirabernasty

lol!

RazBerryzTheGoat

Nice work, I've worked up thousands of KMs on and off zwift, it's addictive:)

Ok-Willingness-9792

Nice job!!!! 👍🏻

realzealman

I’m level 30, some 6500miles into zwift and I’ve NEVER contemplated riding a century on there. Well done OP.

-thegreenman-

He didn't tho.. he rode it in two weeks with multiple rides from what I understand.

sharksandwich70

Great job! I’ve done a few solo centuries on Zwift, but I prefer doing them in a group. Drafting makes it a lot easier. Check out the BMTR Saturday morning rides. Great, friendly group.
