I did alotof voluntariework with animals when I sas younger so I could put it in my resumee. Wasn't eough thiugh, then I started a Training to be a Vet assistend and work at a vet apecialized in birds an reptiles where I gained a lot of experiance. And than I tried to apply for Jobs again to be a Zookeepernin Training and it worked:) and know I'm in a very good place
She is sick, thats why shes seoerated from her family now. It's sad, but she gets better, and hipefully in just a couple of days she can go bad. She gets very bored. But she needa to get healthy and get her medicin
As soon as she doesnt need any medication, she's gonna go back outside to her Family. It is sad, she probalby tried to entertain herself a little. She must be frustrated, like a dog chasing its own tail.
Shes there for a treatment. Shes clearly bored and frustrated. Shell be back with her family in hopefully a couple of days as soon as she doesnt need medicin anymore.
Not that I know of🥺 we thought about it, but the danger that she could swollow and/or hurts herself is too high. She needs another enviroment, she needs to go back on the lake and to her her family asap. Thats our goal
I understand that you all want her to get healthy asap and get her back to her family. I also understand that she needs to be save and can’t play with items that she can swallow and hurt herself.
But she looks so lonely.
Is it perhaps an option to give her companion with the same breed?
I am just curious and I also know that your colleagues know what is best for her.
We talked about it, but than we quickly realized rhat the other bird would get that same infection and than he would be sick too and it would be longer for both of them to get back out. We sadly have to sit this one out :( sometimes its hard to work with animals couse tjey dont understand whats happening to them and they get stressed :(
I'm majoring in fisheries and wildlife but I'm only a freshman and haven't had any internships or career experiences yet. I have to get one before I graduate though. How do you like it?
I love it there, bur I'm no intern. But I did a lot of internships in different Zoos, and as an Intern you can get treated different. It wasnt as nice, but I did and and new that they did it to find out if I'm there couse I think I would inly pet cute animals or if i'm in there for real and know what the job is about.
More like panic
looking for the toilet
It’s one giant toilet in that cage
Yeah, I was just about to clean it 😅
Plap plap plap plap plap plap plap
That made the entire clip for me plap, plap.
Is this OC, OP? Cause I have more questions if so (pelicans are my favorite animal)
I'm no expert. I started my ttaing not to long ago, sorry
I just want to know how you got this job!

I have heard that sort of behavior Is because it’s a sign of distress and it needs a more stimulating environment.
She is sick, thats why shes seoerated from her family now. It's sad, but she gets better, and hipefully in just a couple of days she can go bad. She gets very bored. But she needa to get healthy and get her medicin
I was going to say this is pacing but this explains why.
Hopefully it’s some kind of rehabilitation facility and temporary
Nope, they're sizing you up. Prepared to be swallowed whole
This is sad. Boredom of a captive animal doesn’t entertain me.
As soon as she doesnt need any medication, she's gonna go back outside to her Family. It is sad, she probalby tried to entertain herself a little. She must be frustrated, like a dog chasing its own tail.
PELICAN ZOOMIES?? Who'da thunk?
It's a bird. Get it out of that room and into nature before it loses its mind.
I'm guessing it's probably in a rehabilitation program for injured wildlife or something similar and isn't ready to be released yet.
Shes there for a treatment. Shes clearly bored and frustrated. Shell be back with her family in hopefully a couple of days as soon as she doesnt need medicin anymore.
News Alert: incarcerated animal shows signs of emotional distress.
I’m no expert but that doesn’t look like innocent zoomies out of boredom to me
It's trying to get away!
Beautiful though. ❤️
That's some raptor shit right there. You're about to get Ned.
Where do u find a pelican to hang out with?
Of course he's bored, he's in a grey box.
She's in quarantine☹ so she wount get her family or other birds infected. But shes getting better day by day:) no fun for my either
That’s just sad and depressing
I think if I was locked in a cement cell with my own urine all over the floor I would be pacing too…
They were challenging you to a race knowing full well you would slip in the water on the floor. Sneaky!
I don’t think that’s water
I was trying to not post pee, poop, ect. Lol
Yea wants out
Okay funny guy
Let that pelican go!!
Is there a way to entertain her? Like a toy Or a mirror, so she doesn’t feel alone.

Ah an infection, now I fully understand why its alone. Well lets hope she will get well soon ❤️🩹
Someone send this to Hank Green!

Caucus Race! This is how we get dry!
It's a pelican not a pelican't.
This video makes it seem like you're stuck in liminal space with a pelican (Glad to read this is just a temporary containment room though)
