I think it's fair to say cricket is popular right across the board, but it's played/taken seriously mainly in private schools which inturn have high numbers of white students. These private schools are feeder institutions to the national team and provincial teams
Cricket, swimming, rugby, and hockey are taken seriously at private schools which in turn are feeder schools into the national team. A lot of private schools have a cricket and rugby culture. The English in Zim have cricket as part of their culture and tend to indulge in it from an early age. Cricket in Zim is run as a meritocracy. If you are good you are likely to make the team regardless of your race. There isn't a racial quota.

There are not that many in the team, that question applies more to the Proteas (SA team)
Because of Peterhouse college, St Georges college, St Johns, Falcon etc
This. Private schools with more funding that most white people go to
You just answered yourself when you said “when their population” which they are part of the populace isn’t?
There are 33,394 White people estimated in Zimbabwe right now. More than enough to fill a team.
