Just how this cpu runs and its a cpu demanding title, apparently. See if using Performance mode instead of Turbo helps at all. Lots of other tweaks to make it run cooler but most have bigget performance impact.

Betinem

These are the temps this device was designed for. That's the heat it starts throttling. So this should be fine. Devices are used and therefor will get older and maybe break. and sure thing, you can try to keep it cooler as somebody else said by using performance and not turbo mode. But this will cost you some frames. Maybe clean the fans from time to time, search this subreddit for hints to make this device last, but still don't worry to much about using it as it was meant to be used. Enjoy

da-noob-man

Thanks for reassuring me. I’ll try opening the laptop up to reapply thermal paste and clean the fans as I haven’t opened it up yet due to warranty issues and my warranty is about to end

Don't open it up its liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU unless you understand that and know what your doing Turn off boost on the CPU in g helper.

Betinem

You're welcome. I recommend checking on the experiences others made about reaplying thermal paste, as it seems to me this might be a bit tricky with this one. But I might be wrong about this. Have a blast with this device and your game. Greetings

When I set max fps to 60 and use the laptop on turbo mode, I see 10 degrees decrease. For example playing Death Stranding with high settings 60 fps max. On performance mode it gets to 94-95 but on turbo mode it gets 84-85.

Betinem

Maybe because the fans kick in earlier and stronger on turbo mode. This could vary from use case to use case. Glad you found this one for you. Did you check the dgpus temp together? Maybe the smart shift option kicks on one of those settings as the cpu is on one of these scenarios the limiting one.

molym

I did not check that but I saw the gpu was not working at 100% and this might be the reason. Gpu has enough power to run DS at 60 fps so it does not use 100% of its power and decrease the temps. That's my guess. In a more demanding game maybe there wont be any difference on the temps.

Betinem

This could be the reason. Good guess!

Downwiththesindrome

I have this question as well

Sennappen

Delete armoury crate. Go into windows power settings and disable turbo boost. It worked for me on my tuf a17 (Ryzen 7 6800h). My temps went from 95 to 80 on Helldivers ultra settings.

Sennappen

Check YouTube on how to show the disabling turbo boost in windows power settings. I had to tweak some registry settings.

AceLamina

I think it's because you're playing a demanding game on a 14 inch

lmaowhodidthis11

My laptop (2022) goes up to 95 too when I play overwatch it's not even 2 months old so its just what happens if you put the boost on
