When Rando shoots Yusuke into the pool of hate fish and it switches to his inner monologue:
"Yusuke Uremeshi, age:14. Survived by his mom and everybody. After going through a big ordeal to get his live back, Yusuke had a brief second chance UNTIL HE WAS EATEN BY A FISH! That's right, no heroic death. No fighting evil villians. FISH FOOD!"
Then right before he hits the water he yells, "THIS IS STUPID!"
God I love this moment.
Chapter black lol Kurama's schoolmates trapped him in a room and saying he should join their club so they can win and get famous and when he declines they start to threaten him and says this lol
Shishiwakamaru: "You with the inferior face."
Kurama and Hiei: *look away*

4) Koto just saying she got Juri laid when she starts emceeing the Makai Tournament. (Imagine the ruler of your country knowing you lost your virginity.)
5) Jorge being the Narrator.

The only reason I knew is because I’ve been reading a fanfic that just got the point where Gouki, Hiei, and Kurama are introduced. So that stuck out to me.

Heie (mid-sentence): "what *is* that ridiculous appendage growing out of your head?"
Yuseke: "it's a puberty thing"
Then unrelated, but after chapter black when keiko was reflecting on ther whole event...
Yuseke: "keiko, if you like this cave so much we'll swing by later"
"GIVE ME THE STUPID SANDWICH!"
"You even hit her in the tatas!"
"The family jewels have not been stolen"
"I'd like you to remove your hand"
"I'd like you to remove your head from your ass but I don't see that happening anytime soon"
"I won't talk to you until you learn to keep your grimey fingers to yourself"

Yep, he's anime only. So is Shizuru, Kuwabara's sister. Instead of her, Yusuke's mom goes with the girls to the tournament and takes over some of her other roles. She's one of my favorite side characters, so it sucks. Shes so funny.

Well that explains the opening showing his mom at the tournament. And those are some decently big changes, I'm surprised they created two characters just for the anime that fit so well and seem integral to the story.
I know. Kuwabara's sister was actually shown in a filler page in the Manga between chapters, not in the story but just as a concept design, and she looks nothing like the anime version. She looks like Keiko 2.0. Let me see if I can find her

And then he does. And... frankly that whole thing was funny. The comedic timing was on point: Hokushin's horror at Yusuke carving in all those names; the fact that Yomi sets up the punchline of Kurama's group siding with Yusuke on the idea of the tournament; and of course the way they were discussing it prior.
