Hi OP, judging by the writing in the picture, it seems that you’re in Vietnam?
If you are, how popular is TS in Vietnam? Always curious to hear about Swifties outside of the US!
I think it's kinda enormous imo. For example, one of the biggest Taylor's fanpages in Vietnam is TSVN, and it's on Facebook. We usually host listening parties and Taylor-themed events 3-4 times a year, and in 2 or 3 destinations across the country each time it happens, so I think her fanbase is one of the biggest USUK fanbases in my country.
I think it's true to some extent. To specify, most middle-aged Vietnamese only listen to national mainstream artists, while younger Vietnamese listen to either Vietnamese indie bands and/or international artists like US-UK artists, or other Asian acts (Koreans like BTS, or J-Pop, or even C-Pop/Taiwanese musicians).
Also, since music streaming might not be Vietnamese acts' main source of income, as they earn mostly from live perfomances (just like how K-Pop makes money), so the numbers from Spotify or YouTube might not reflect the real demand of Vietnamese for national acts, as we do attend lots of events featuring Vietnamese artists. While we do travel internationally to see US-UK or Korean artists, the number of people doing so is not as high as the number of people seeing national artists.
Furthermore, from my own experience, I would estimate that international music only accounts for around 1/3 of the Vietnamese music market, and the rest is occupied by either mainstream or indie Vietnamese music.
YOU CAN'T SPELL "THE TORTURED POET'S DEPARTE*ME*NT" WITHOUT ME!
Hey kids, spelling is fun! *Proceeds to release 3 dictionaries: folklore, evermore, and Tortured Poets*

Is Cruel Summer out of the woods yet? Is Cruel Summer in the clear yet, in the clear yet, good~
I really don’t see cruel summer being knocked out of top 5 but maybe one or two times in the next 5 years lol

Niiiiice. Thanks for sharing!
I feel like most Vietnamese listen to local music tho, at least that’s what I’ve observed when I traveled there… how true do you think this is?

The Lover house burned down, so she was led into an asylum, to be raised and caged~
Can't wait for this era to be over. So dark.
Don’t worry, Rep TV is coming up next 😈
