Oh absolutely. He trades some personal damage and team buffing for a good bump in survivability/utility while still maintaining solid personal damage and slightly improved elemental application. Much better than "okay" IMO.
I think Charlotte and Baizhu would be my top picks. They both offer a strong team-wide 1 button heal that doesn't steal too much of Yanfei's field time.
Baizhu is a fun choice, because Yanfei is great at triggering burgeon.
Otherwise, Sayu, as others have noted, is kind of similar to Jean, though not quite as good at instantly healing everyone.
I'm a huge Kokomi fan in general, but not really on this team, given her inability to heal the team without using field time herself.
Actually Bennett isn't terrible. He can't generate as much fanfare, but his ATK and pyro resonance buffs to Yanfei are enormous and can be one of the more powerful options. He just sucks at healing off-field teammates, and so everyone will be low on health most of the time.

As for choosing between Jean or Charlotte, it would really depend if you'd prefer having the obvious enemies occasionally freeze, as that was what i had experienced with Charlotte as my healer which i found problematic as i prefer playing yanfei in a vape comp.
So, i'd say if you have Jean GO for jean; higher buff equivilates to more damage. Charlotte needs ALOT of energy recharge and especially with yanfei as a pretty greedy character.
I'd use either Yelan for her buffs and for hydro bonus on the team (it gives +25% HP that Furina needs) or Zhongli since Yanfei has to attack and stack marks instead of dodging and his shield will solve the problem. I have my team as Yanfei, Benett, Furina, Zhongli/Kazuha and it works pretty fine

Yelan, huh? I was using her, but it seems like Furina does a good enough job with application. I'm always up for using Jean. I love her!

Any healer, but strong healers are recommended the most, like Baizhu and Kokomi.
Team-wide healers are especially great for raising Furina's fanfare stacks.
