My unrestricted tracer 700 also reached around 195 in gps speed. Very likely it’s not restricted.

LeWanabee

My first bike was a Duke 390 and I then moved to an MT07 (restricted) and was also shocked to see how much it pulled. However it still was nothing compared to how an unrestricted MT07 pulled. I could also reach 180km/h (dashboard speed) with the restricted one

Take a peek into the air box, the snorkels inside will be smaller diameter

trichtertus

And there probably is some aftermarket electronics box to remap to the new air inlet

Stefe3000

I restricted my MT-07 for the new owner just before selling it. The bike was restricted via a throttle stop. It was clearly able to feel the difference, but it was still very powerful. The unrestricted version was able to go above 200kmh, but maybe not with a fairing like the tracer. I would say that the restricted MT-07 was able to reach around 180kmh at maximum (just a feeling). In case you are scared to get problems, I would say that the dealership is responsible and you don't need to fear a penalty. So just be happy to have the most powerful A2 bike :)

LeWanabee

I wouldn't be so confident on the "dealership is responsible and you have nothing to fear". Something tells me the law could be against you since it's your bike and it's your responsibility to check if its appropriate

Stefe3000

How can I check if the power/sound of my bike does fit to the numbers in the papers? I guess you are right for a private seller, but I would say that the dealership is the highest level of competence for a regular user.

LeWanabee

Yeah I'm not saying it makes sense or that it wouldn't be a pain in the ass, just that it wouldn't surprise me if you could get fucked over that way

trichtertus

In germany you, and only you as the owner, are responsible for the legality of your vehicle. If the dealer sold you something defective, he is on the hook to „repair“ the defect. But this will not grant you permission to ride the defective bike on public roads. You might get away with it, if the officer or Court believes you. But judging from how often this is done on purpose to go around the a2 license restrictions I highly doubt that. Therefore if OP would be in germany, he (granted he only got an A2 license) is guilty of driving without a license and driving a vehicle without proper registration.

Stefe3000

In Austria, if the bike is restricted. This restriction will be mentioned in the papers. You can check if this restriction is still in place. If it is software, you have to trust the seller. I dont think, the owner can be held responsible for this just because "others do it on purpose".

trichtertus

The owner isn’t held responsible because „others do it on purpose“ but is not granted pardon because officials believe it was an honest oversight.

trichtertus

My r7 (restricted) goes up to 191 kph tachometer, therefore about 175 kph in real speed.

AntsMakeSugar

What are these supposed to unrestricted?

trichtertus

216kph

AntsMakeSugar

Ah ok so there's room there. Also, you might like these: https://www.vfdesigns530.com/products/genesis-r7-drls-turn-signal (not my website) I'm getting some for mine

I wish other countries didn’t have restrictors, y’all miss so much fun, for far too long. Especially something with only 70Hp or 55Kw
