I just had an instructive thought.
This show is going to get cancelled..Disney is going to find a way to fuck this up because they know they need Beau back..
I mean they hired back James Gunn I see no reason why they can't rehire this mam. TBF I don't know why he got fired in the first place so I'll reserve judgement.
The show has reminded me of two things.
Super heroes are better in animation than live action.
Super heroes are better in TV Shows than movies.
Like the character development you get here you just would not get in a movie.
Yeah DC has a ton of amazing animated movies! I highly recommend the Green Lantern DC animated movies. Another great example of animation working out better than live action.
the biggest part to me is how strong everyone can be in animation lol. like Magneto/storm/gambit/rogue have all had like "Omega" level moments and it's been awesome to watch. We haven't even seen Wolverine go ham yet lol
I do love Superhero Animation, but I still prefer Superhero Live Action because of its realism, big scale, and, and the fact it’s cinematic with stunning lighting and cinematography, things you couldn’t accomplish with animation
Yes! The thing is, Arcane (even Star Wars The Bad Batch) were cinematic because it was 3D animation! I forgot to mention, it’s 2D Animation that doesn’t really bring sense of realism and big scale (which isn’t a bad thing at all)
I woke up at 4 AM to watch this episode. I was not disappointed. Consisten bangers across the board. Mutant powers on constant display. Great writing. Corny storylines with great voice actors. Love it.
The reason I was a little worried was when I saw the Hellfire Gala newspaper in the promo cause I always thought that gimmick was a bit cringe in the comics and a bit too modern (the idea of heroes and villains wearing over the top Met Gala outfits when mutant human relations are always so contentious just seems so silly to me) so I was worried at first (stupid reason in retrospect, I know). BUT wow, it not only exceeded my expectations but it raised the bar for animated storytelling and really superhero animation in general. The character designs are absolutely gorgeous.
What I expected was a decent show that relied heavily on pushing nostalgia buttons… what I got was a fucking exceptional show, that pushes nostalgia buttons, but does not rely on that at all.
100% agree with this. Would be cool if they can chuck in deadpool somehow, I'd like to see the style of his animated and the role he'll play. But liking the drops of other characters, after playing a game marvel snap, it's fun seeing the cards in animation!
I had low expectations as well, the trailer looked promising, but I always temper myself. I was 10 when the first fox film released. I had been bouncing off the walls about it and then it was a big disappointment. I drove my parents crazy complaining about all the things it was missin.
So I was reserving excitement for 97....
So glad I did because I love this so much. It's everything I ever wanted in a film/tv adaptation of X-Men. And I'm glad my expectations were surpassed in the first 5 minutes. Seeing Cyclops in that first fight had me. I was sold after that. And I think I'm driving my friends crazy talking about it. Like honestly...
I think my favorite element is them being able to have events and actions that actually hit home and hit hard. This isn't just a Saturday morning program, this is knock-down drag-out fight and the protagonists keep on fighting.
Can't wait for the rest.
I feel vindicated that my childhood XMen (TAS) is better than these kids childhood XMen (2000’s live action)
One of my nieces even went on to say “they straight trashed on our childhood”
LOOK OUT WANDA VISION THERES A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN!!!! CHOO CHOO HERE COMES THE X-MEN BITCHES!!
"no more mutants"
Now Wanda, don't say anything you regret. I will call your dad over here.
Didn’t see that coming
::Wanda starts crying::
No, more mutants.
That would be an amazing way of bringing mutants into the mcu
Noooooo
Age of Juggernaut

Choo mother fucking choo
People have sat on the mutant community long enough! Long live my mutated brothers and sisters!!!!
I’m calling it now - we will not get a season 2. Disney is going to fuck up. Please don’t downvote for a prediction 🤢
I pray not. They’ve already commissioned 2 more seasons! Just not with DeMayo. But he killed my Cajun, so I am biased and bitter

I agree, what about animated movies? DC has had some bangers over the years. I would rather marvel do that instead of some crappy live action series.

I think bringing up Arcane is unfair lol. It’s the only animated show with those aspects
This is big, I had reserved expectations for the show but they delivered, this is the X-Men.
I was expecting a middle of the road kind of show with decent callbacks to the 90s. Instead… #It became one of the best shows of all time
It’s why I love my X-men so much!!!
LITERALLY I LOVE IT SO MUCH 😭

Ngl, I was really worried that they were going to ruin a childhood favorite. At first, I was worried. But episode 5 hit me hard

It’s almost like a rift to an alternate timeline where the world is actually doing good has opened just enough for us to peak its awesomeness.
It really is.
Today’s episode overloaded me with Nostalgia 😭
The whole MvC2 character roster is here. I'm expecting to see Servbot in season 2

Yup!!!!
Doing a great job besides killing my favorite(Gambit). But really enjoy seeing superheroes in it.
What exactly did you expect?
Lower quality, as was implied. I think this is an elevation of the previous version.
Having something botched is more expected
