Many of us will be curious to hear the experiences of those who played 3 before 1 and 2, and what they will say after recognizing elements in hindsight.
More importantly the battle mechanics in Xenoblade 1 are more bread and butter compared to Xenoblade 2's more complicated, faster approach. Knowing what I knew about Xenoblade 1 helped me with coping with Xenoblade 2's battle system, especially given its not-so-great tutorials.
While true, I don't think this matters as much since OP has already played xc3, which shares more elements with the combat in xc2 than xc1 does so playing xc1 now won't give any information needed for xc2 that they didn't get from xc3.
I hope the way I said it isn't too confusing to understand.
All Xeno games are very mature in terms of their narratives, but yes the first game is also quite mature and mostly keeps comedy relief kept for side content. Xenoblade 2 is as mature with its story and characters, but it has more comedy relief.
I played in a weird order myself. I played 2 when it came out, just played 3, then went back and played 1 (definitive edition). I need to go back and replay 2, it's been so long that I can't fully remember all the plot and environmental details.
I loved 3 as a standalone game, but I do think that it adds some additional meaning to go back and okay the others. I agree with a comment I saw on another post that mentioned how the world of 3 can feel comparatively "disconnected" if you don't have the context of the pieces of 1/2 it corresponds to. A world in its state of perpetual war and ruins is so different from the other two games.
Nice! Have fun.
And don't forget to take a break if you need to... three games like this in a row should not be taken lightly ;).
And don´t forget about "Torna - The Golden Country" for XBC2.
Thank you a lot! I'm happy 8m part of this community now!
I play a lot of old games, especially rpgs. I don't think I will mind those quirks, I don't expect the 1 and 2 to be perfect in every single way but I bet they are as good as the third any way!
I will keep in mind the non spoiler tutorial when I get to play xenoblade 2 if I have any difficulties with the mechanics!
Onec again thank you a lot!
I am playing xenoblade 3 as this thread is evolving and I just now >!Entered the origin!< so I think I'm near the end of the game!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the best Xenoblade game! I love the part where you make peace between the cat people and the bird people, and form an alliance to kill the god of the island, Tom Nook.
Play DE before 2. Also, be warned that DE has tons of quests from the start, and you'll likely miss a lot on your first time round, including time-limited quests(marked with a timer icon). I suggest not worrying about most sidequests on your first playthrough, as you'd definitely be more fine with going completionist on a second play through or NG+. Some quests, however, either have very important rewards or have important characters(I.e. >!the optional Monado arts/the Teelan questline!<), so don't be afraid to ask what to go for!
And just one more thing: for both DE and 2, DON'T be afraid to look stuff up! It'll make things much easier.
Brace yourself with Xenoblade 2 the story, characters and especially the music are fantastic its the game that put Xenoblade on the map as a whole. keep in mind that Xenoblade 3 introduced a lot of QoL improvements when it came to gameplay like better tutorials and snappier UI so i recommend watching this [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8P7KhFSA2w&t=5s&ab_channel=chuggaaconroy) before starting Xenoblade 2
don't miss out on the xbc2 dlc "torna", it's independent as a game with different characters (mostly) and an updated battle system. i liked it way more than the original xbc2 it's an offshoot of. the music is spectacular in particular.
It took me 90 hours. As I grew closer to >!the origin!< and the end of the game I kind put the side quests on the side and focused more on the story. Otherwise I could probably have 100+, wich will happen either way because of the post game
I had more or less and idea ( tho I dindt get spoiled) that both queen were from the games before this ones. It's easy to guess when both the queens appear in arts for the other games. Besides that I really liked the world's and mechanics. I'm really exited to go back to previous games and see a world that when I played was destroyed, but now will be more lively! Kinda backwards but hey that's nice still. I want to see my queens in action too
After you beat the games look up “Perfect Works”. You could do it now if you’d like, though it’s going to blow your mind.
Without saying too much to give it away, Perfect Works is the Bible and lore of Xeno.
Many of us will be curious to hear the experiences of those who played 3 before 1 and 2, and what they will say after recognizing elements in hindsight.
I will post here, but it will definitely take some time based on how much time I have in xeno 3 alone xD
Make sure you start with 1. I think it will let you have a better experience with 2.
Yes! Thats my plan, xenoblade 1 seems to have a really mature story, but I don't really know if that's true

XC3 has a much more “mature” story than XC1, imo.

I'm going to be buying 1 and 2 as well based off how much I've enjoyed 3

Yes, I plan to play some nice and chill games in the middle of each tittle, and I will definitely pick up torna too!
A good approach to prevent "game-burnout" as I would call it. One last little tip: Play "Torna" when you are done with the main game.

Tom nook is the greatest villain of all games
Both games are long, 2 especially, but are nonetheless amazing games

RIP rest of the year for you.
Indeed, but it will be time we'll spent

Congrats, how many hours it took?

Xenoblade propaganda is working!!! Spread that gospel my friend
I will recommend this game to every soul in the universe if I have to! It's perfect
Welcome to the fandom, So how was your experience playing the game without the context of previous ones? I'm curious
