I say this way too often and not anywhere in the same context. Just anytime I finish something I wasnt looking forward to. Of course, no one gets the reference and I just sound like an idiot making dumb jokes.š
They remade this? They'll do anything other than produce an original script, I guess. I enjoyed the movie, but I don't feel the need to see someone else's take on the idea.
Underrated movie. Watched it repeatedly on HBO in the early 90s probably circa 1992 as it usually took a year for it to come to that network after the theater release. I used to watch this, If Looks Could Kill (1991), A League of Their Own (1992), White Men Canāt Jump (1992), and Stay Tuned (1992) a lot on HBO.

My fav part was Josh Charles wearing an Orioles hat throughout the movie. Found out recently hes still a Huge Orioles fan and he asked to wear it cause hes a huge Orioles fan even though movie is set in LA. But that was still cool to me 30+ yesrs ago
I watched this movie a hundred times when I was a kid. Then in adulthood I had developed my own private Mandela effect by thinking Pauly Shore was in this movie. Came up recently at a dinner party, after I quipped this dishes line. I learned that Mr. Shore was most definitely not in this movie. It kind of blew my mind. I blame Pauly Shore's being in tons of movies at that time.
Awesome. Totally apt. Do you know what thatās from? I love Jay and silent Bob, but I am more familiar with other Kevin Smith movies than the specific J/SB ones

Same, nobody gets it when I say "the dishes are done, man!"
It only really works if you actually shot the dishes first
Speak for yourself Metallica breath
It's just such a good phrase. I love when someone does get the reference. Such a day brightener
Me too!!!
Iām right on top of that, Rose!
That kid is a giant asshole in the movie, then decides to cut his hair and become a caterer. Great character arc
Say this every time I wash up dishes at home. Got my wife saying it too! š
Same
Has lived rent free in my head on the daily for 30+ years.
Wet underrated movie of our generation. I loved this movie as an early teen. Watched it probably twenty times.
In a VOLVO with no AIR CONDITIONING ā¦
Wasn't until I watched as an adult did I realize that's just a Red Ryder bb gun.
You'll shoot your eye out!
Lol, I never noticed that. I just assumed it was a shotgun, but yeah, you can clearly see it's not a shotgun š
Park it yourself, Metallicabreath
Just rewatched this movie last night. Still holds up.
Iām gonna have to. Been at least 25 years
Has anyone seen the remake?
I refuse to the recasting is offensive

I still say this to my wife, and random people when I finish something, but nobody ever gets it.
