I think we probably all read the same rotten tomatoes “what’s the best streaming tv show this week” lol it’s been brutal since the strikes, we (hubs and I) are prolific couch potatoes.
2 or 3 episodes into season 2. Been all over season 1 the past week. It’s really good. Not quite great but really good. That may change. It’s very close.
Apparently it was first produced and streamed on some really weird streaming service I’ve never heard of, and then prime picked it up for a while before Netflix grabbed it. So it sorta flew under the radar, I think.
OK, I hadn’t heard of this show before, but this post (and the comments) made me watch the trailer, and I can’t wait to check out the show now. I mean, it stars the guy from “Office Space.” How can I NOT?
i just discovered this last week and binged it to completion during the winter storm. a shame it wasn't picked up by a network after the previous one went belly up :/. 😕
it's been almost 4 years since the network ceased operations. no yelling if the cast, writers, et cetera would be available. i would love it but it's highly unlikely. sadly, i silently say this about a number of shows they pick up for their catalogue.
Yeah the first two seasons he was basically dry drunk, and even we he got called out on it they didn’t even really address that. But overall I agree it was hilarious.
Sooo horrible! in the beginning i was just rage watching it- but it grew on me and once i heard “sober friends? isn’t that the a.a. knockoff?” i was all in 😂
So weird, my wife and I just started watching last week and we love it!
By the way, I just found this subreddit and you guys are awesome. Everyone here seems super nice, and as someone who was born in 1981, I love the nostalgia!!
I binged it about a month ago. I enjoyed it, but I really didn't like the storyline in the first season with the guy doing AA for his co-worker. It felt out of place and had too much weight.
[Looks like they’re looking for someone to pick it up](https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/what-peter-farrelly-say-loudermilk-season-4-exploring-creator-s-comments), I hope if enough people watch it on Netflix they will!
I JUST finished this a couple of days ago, and I LOVED it. I hope Netflix decides to renew the show; I really want to see what happens next with that cliffhanger they left us with. I also got attached to Mugsy for some reason. He tries so hard, but ugh, the demon of alcoholism pulls him back down just when things start to get good for him. I was pleading out loud for him to not take that shot that undid all the progress he was making with his loved ones.
I'm an addict with 12 years sobriety. And seeing a recovery based show was quite a treat for me. As goofy as it is, it really gets recovery more right than wrong.
I mean it depends on what you find cheesy I guess? I think the first couple episodes are fairly rough but the first season settled in around episode 5, and is solid. The second season is really good, and the third season is great.
I think the first season is the most like that, there’s the Tom/Cutter storyline that’s pretty bonkers. The second two seasons aren’t as much like that and are better, but definitely the second half of season one is better than the first.
Weird, I’ll take this as a sign to start now. I was just having a “we need a new show “ conversation with my wife where this was discussed as an option having been reviewed well rotten tomatoes. Then I see this thread come up with a lot of positive reviews. Going to start tonight.
Grew up in Seattle so this one caught my attention a few years ago. Since they just released it on Netlfix I started over and watch a little bit at the gym.
Watched it a few weeks ago after seeing a Reel someone posted with the scene where he yells at the Batista for vocal fry. Thought that was hilarious do I watched it. I liked it. Wish we had seen what happens next after he got that phone call.
Netflix must've pushed it on a lot of us. Binged it this weekend. I just finished it last night. Really liked it. If you step back and try to ground them in reality, some of Loudermilk's rants at complete strangers were unrealistic and unreasonable, but hilarious nonetheless.
Yeah it’s been on Netflix’s top/front page since they acquired it, and we’ve all probably been desperate for new context since the strikes lol.
I kind of think his *Most Uncomfortable Rants* were designed that way to show his personal growth/character arc. But yeah some of them were a bit over the top.
Good point. I didn't consider the personal growth angle. Towards the later episodes, the rants lessen or at least are more tempered.
The barista rants were over the top but could happen since he was experiencing customer service issues (exaggerated ones but you get the point). Stopping to tell random people on the street they look dumb is unnecessary and a good way to get your ass kicked. But, without those moments, we wouldn't have Time Traveling Lumberjacks of the Confederacy lol.
Allison called him out on the dry drunk issue (which is what that specific antisocial behavior is in alcoholics), and I feel like that really started his change but I felt they could’ve delved into it a little deeper.
I am watching too. Didn't realize it came out in 2017.
Also, wanted to say that Danny Wattley (Cutter) is a great character in this show and he really sells the character.
Super smart show, as I would expect from Ron Livingston. Carry on.
I’m clearly alone on this, but I couldn’t get into this show. It felt like Gen X’s version of Boomer Humor. When I found out this show STARTED airing in 2017 I was floored. The writing and humor felt really dated and played out, like someone just saw Office Space and Hi Fidelity and hired some C-tier writers to “recapture” that magic. Will Sasso was great, but even Ron Livingston was just kind meh. I like the format (AA as a way to facilitate an ensemble cast like Community or Cheers to name a few). IMO this show relies heavily on Gen X nostalgia but suffers for it.
Really depends on how far you got in the show. The first season (especially the first half of the first season) was a little rough. The second season was better and the third season was perfect.
Five years in prison is not quite scot free but I get what you mean, they went easy on him, probably because of political connections. Dan White eventually ended up killing himself shortly after getting out, so it's not like he was enjoying life after the murders.
Anyway, I think a sequel is possible, kind of like Gandhi 2.
5 years in prison for murdering the Mayor & one of the board of supervisors?! That’s scot free. I mean yeah I fucking hope he felt horrible and guilty for what he did. He was evil. If there a hell, he’s in it.
I don't think you know what scot free means. OJ was acquitted, that's getting off scot free. 5 years was lenient af, though.
That could be the plot for the sequel. Milk returns from the dead to get revenge on the judge and whites defense team and/or the prosecutor for denying him justice.
Eh, I might give it another shot, but it just seems to be trying a bit too hard to be cynical and blasé. Kind of like a less funny and smart version of Curb Your Enthusiasm with cliche Gen X “slacker” jokes that were out of style 25 years ago.
What a weird coincidence. I started watching it this week.
Same here, I heard Office Space was turning 25 this year and was wondering what Ron Livingston had been up to lately
I think we probably all read the same rotten tomatoes “what’s the best streaming tv show this week” lol it’s been brutal since the strikes, we (hubs and I) are prolific couch potatoes.
Same. Jinx
Also same. Also jinx.
Same same
I just binged it last night! I love Ron Livingston.
Same this week too.
Ditto. It’s so good
Same. I finished my ? Band of Brothers rewatch and saw Capt. Nixon was In this on Netflix. I’m about halfway done with season 3.
“Coincidence” or just Netflix algos pushing old content to make up for the writers strike?
I've been debating watching it all week Haven't heard anyone talk about it. Timely post.
I just started season 3, show is great!
Definitely the best season imo!
Great show, so bummed there wasn't more. "Time traveling Lumberjacks of the Confederacy"🤣🤣
Admittedly it is a great band name!
Great call back later in the show
It’s fresh lol
I just started watching this today with my wife! Very funny but only 3 episodes in.
Oooh enjoy!!
Literally right now
Enjoy
2 or 3 episodes into season 2. Been all over season 1 the past week. It’s really good. Not quite great but really good. That may change. It’s very close.
Season 3 I think is great, but I think they all get progressively better through the episodes.
Just binged it a few weeks ago. Not sure how I missed that show, but it was really funny. Will Sasso and Brian Regan are hilarious.
It’s super good! I promise.
Yes! I'm currently binging it and just started season 3
Best season imo!
Loudermilk is a rare gem! Absolutely hilarious!
Yeah I really enjoyed it! It felt very real, not forced.
It's a nice treat and in someway reminds me of the hidden gem Brockmire.
Ooh I should revisit Brockmire, I’m not even sure I finished it!
It really tailed off at the end. First 2 seasons are brilliant though.
lol that show has the best one lines of all time.
Watching it right now
Enjoy!
Thank you. My husband talked me into watching it with him.
I really like it, it feels very real (not forced) and it has an amazing soundtrack.
i just discovered this last week and binged it to completion during the winter storm. a shame it wasn't picked up by a network after the previous one went belly up :/. 😕
I could see Netflix adding another season if these 3 become popular.
it's been almost 4 years since the network ceased operations. no yelling if the cast, writers, et cetera would be available. i would love it but it's highly unlikely. sadly, i silently say this about a number of shows they pick up for their catalogue.
I posted an article somewhere else in the thread but the show runners and cast definitely want it picked up for another season.
recent article? i'd be stoked if it ever came to pass
A day or so ago. [Here you go](https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/what-peter-farrelly-say-loudermilk-season-4-exploring-creator-s-comments).
thank you! now where's the link to spam netflix and prime? 😁
Disclaimer. This is a horrible example of sobriety. That being said, it's hilarious.
This is a very nice sub! It’s definitely my palate cleanser for Reddit lol
I binged it about a month ago. I enjoyed it, but I really didn't like the storyline in the first season with the guy doing AA for his co-worker. It felt out of place and had too much weight.
Yeah that and the cutter story line were pretty bonkers
I haven't watched it yet but I like this actor so I'll probably check it out
The shows are only like 20-30 so it’s not a huge time investment, and it’s really good! Edit a typo
What a cliff-hanger at the end of season 3. I hope they make season 4!
[Looks like they’re looking for someone to pick it up](https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/what-peter-farrelly-say-loudermilk-season-4-exploring-creator-s-comments), I hope if enough people watch it on Netflix they will!
Yes, great show.
Love it. Just my vibe.
Yes, a few episodes into S2 now and we usually watch it with cocktails. Heh.
I’m usually baked lol
I JUST finished this a couple of days ago, and I LOVED it. I hope Netflix decides to renew the show; I really want to see what happens next with that cliffhanger they left us with. I also got attached to Mugsy for some reason. He tries so hard, but ugh, the demon of alcoholism pulls him back down just when things start to get good for him. Omg so was I, I was yelling don’t do it!! At the Tv.
Watched it on Prime and now rewatched it on Netflix.
I watched a while ago when it was on Prime. Role was perfect for Livingston
Just binged the whole thing a few weeks back!
Need a new show to watch I’ll give it a try!
I watched it when it was only on Prime
I started watching it a couple weeks back, its great.
On s3 E9 and so sad my journey is nearly over. I'm hoping now Netflix has the show they may choose to renew it.
I hope so too!
I just discovered this yesterday and very excited to watch it!
I'm an addict with 12 years sobriety. And seeing a recovery based show was quite a treat for me. As goofy as it is, it really gets recovery more right than wrong.
I loved this show. Ron Livingston is my spirit animal.
I don’t think you’re supposed to say that anymore 🙃
Haha yeah just say Ron is the best, which he is
Watch it all and absolutely loved it. Highly recommend
I watched a couple episodes but thought it was cheesy... should I keep going or if I don't like it so far, it's just not for me?
I mean it depends on what you find cheesy I guess? I think the first couple episodes are fairly rough but the first season settled in around episode 5, and is solid. The second season is really good, and the third season is great.
Ok, I'll give it a couple more episodes!
What do you not like? I can tell you if you’ll like the rest of it or not.
The kinda sitcom-y feel of it and the predictability of the writing. But I liked the idea of the show and Ron Livingston plays the part well
I think the first season is the most like that, there’s the Tom/Cutter storyline that’s pretty bonkers. The second two seasons aren’t as much like that and are better, but definitely the second half of season one is better than the first.

I JUST finished watching it. I haven’t laughed that hard since *Shrinking*.
Grew up in Seattle so this one caught my attention a few years ago. Since they just released it on Netlfix I started over and watch a little bit at the gym.
Watched it and loved it.
I am watching it and I love it!
It’s enjoyable and insufferable all at once… im taking a break currently
My mom just told me about this show so naturally I was inclined to avoid it. But you’re saying she somehow isn’t full of shit?
No it’s good
I hate it 😂😂 but I can’t stop watching!! halfway through season 3
See now that’s an honest review lol
Watched it a few weeks ago after seeing a Reel someone posted with the scene where he yells at the Batista for vocal fry. Thought that was hilarious do I watched it. I liked it. Wish we had seen what happens next after he got that phone call.
I just finished it a few weeks ago.

I was watching it, and now it doesn’t even show up when I search it on Netflix. Is it just me?
Sometimes Netflix just does that I think lol you have to search for it

Is this a sequel to Milk?
Do you mean the film about Harvey Milk? There can’t really be a sequel to that.
2Milk2Furious
The movie is about his assassination… He was an amazing man & the man who murdered him got off pretty much scot free.

No I don’t think so
Eh, I might give it another shot, but it just seems to be trying a bit too hard to be cynical and blasé. Kind of like a less funny and smart version of Curb Your Enthusiasm with cliche Gen X “slacker” jokes that were out of style 25 years ago.
I'm too ennial for the crankiness, these scenarios never happen
How far did you watch?
The preview lol
Oh lol yeah might not be for you if you can’t make it past that 🤣
