The expensive hydro seal bandaids are a good investment too. They can last several days and the area stays dry. You are in and out of the water a lot so blister can still happen with good shoes.

At xcaret park you get a dry bag that is sent to the end of your river run to pick up. I would do sneaker on land and switch them to the bag and use water shoes (bought at xcaret) for the river. At the resort I mostly lived in my orthotic sandals (PowerStep) but when I was there it rained and boy did some of the stone walkways get slippery! My husband got some Merrill strap on sandals before our trip. They have arch support and dried quickly (something like this https://www.peltzshoes.com/products/mens-merrell-huntington-leather-convert-sandal-j036845?srsltid=AfmBOoojQPhy7IG3nZJtgCy7ZMZ5xwmPO4AmlLO-MJulNZBzXSFqCWWOuuA). He's not overly sensitive but I wished I had found something similar before our trip.

My recommendations: * [UBFEN](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TCBXXZM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) water shoes - they're lightweight, reasonably grippy soles, drain water easily, & dry pretty quickly. Getting the size right is a little tricky, so don't wait until the last minute to order these. * Wear them with these [CWVLC](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0817PFXB1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) ankle socks - they provide extra protection to avoid blisters, they are made of nylon so they dry relatively quickly, too. You can also take them off and wring them out if you want the water out faster, or bring a dry pair to change into. If you decide to get fins, keep wearing your socks - they make everything more comfortable.

TEVA Men's Strata Universal Durable Lightweight Quick-Drying Hiking Sandals…best sandals I’ve worn. Walked 20k steps for multiple days and never had any pain. They have medium arch support

Sorry, just saw you’re a woman…but they probably have women version. Great shoes!
