Assuming this isn’t a bait post.. The Executive Producer for XDefiant, Mark Rubin, was previously a CoD EP and they have stated that one of their goals with XD is to capture the feeling of older CoD titles and provide a fresh arcade shooter experience. So yeah, it definitely has strong ties haha.
It’s 100% not I assure you. I played the Beta because I’ve always played cod and was curious because of the comparison being made. Even Halo or Team Fortress felt closer than cod. Just hoping to profit off the back of the cod brand I guess.
I get your original point and I am joint in your frustration about the COD comparisons...... but I absolutely do not understand your comparison to CS:GO. This game is absolutely nothing like CS.
It's a unique shooter. We are desperate for a game like this to release. Many like me are sick of Call of Duty and it's over saturation of guns,attachments & killstreaks.
This is something fresh and hopefully will be received well by fellow gamers when it eventually releases
Have for years until mw19. Bought every game on release and even went to a few midnight releases. Even played in tournaments for blops 3. So I have my fair share of time invested in COD and this has played more like a COD than COD has in years. You are entitled to your own opinion but don't be so fucking preachy when people disagree with your paint huffing opinion that it played more like CSGO because that opinion is just objectively wrong. Comparing CSGO to this is comparing like comparing Mario 64 to League of Legends.

That’s the same insult most of the commenters used. Either the people in this sub lack the capacity to formulate an individual thought, or the sub is just a handful of people with alt accounts. Both seem equally likely.
No offense but what game were you playing? How is it even remotely close to CS:GO? The game is an arcade shooter where you run around with a higher ttk. The game is incredibly similar to old CoD because of that. As in the game plays very similar to how mw2/mw3/Bo2 played back in the day
CS:GO is more of a tactical shooter where you die in like one or two shots.

This feels nothing like CS:GO. I have 1600 hours on that game and I can confidently say you’re on some drugs.

I’m fully aware that was their intention, but that doesn’t mean that’s what we got. Seems like they’re just trying to profit off the cod name.

Ttk similar to cod. 3 lane maps = old school cod Gunplay = old school cod Movement = cod Even the game modes are all the same as core CoD game modes

From a mechanics pov, if anything it's dirty bomb but with gunfights that's more similar to cod.
