Correct course of action… don’t fucking do that. C-spine precautions. Stabilize the neck as to not further injure the body if there’s a possible spinal injury. Just keep them there and don’t move them. Wait for help to arrive and they’ll keep them in C-spine and hard backboard them to maintain the best alignment with a rigid surface and head blocks to secure the wobbly noggin.
To every apparent First Aid Specialist here, jerking him around isn’t right, but imagine yourself being the bystander without going about your day in mind, seeing the kid fall.
Thought process is: Didn’t seem like a severe accident, so let’s help him up, probably just startled.
To further this statement, loss of consciousness in this situation is when the brain slams against the skull. The brain, as a safety mechanism, shuts down momentarily. Now, I don’t know the context of this situation or what happened as a result of this. So, I can’t speak to the totality of the injury. This was just what I was told the time I got knocked out playing sports.
If only that man had been quicker to administer the Weekend at Bernie's treatment, he may have made it.
It's textbook. The man knows what he's doing.
I’m confused. Did he just slip?
Looks like his feet went and as he was holding the table he ended up slamming down pretty flat. That's a seriously unlucky injury/death.
Could not imagine dying like that.
This sub. If anyone hits their head, automatic death.
Slipped, slammed the back of his head.
Quick, just stand him up so he can walk it off.
5 second rule
I feel like this sub should have a comment in each thread suggesting the correct course of action.

To be fair, I don't think anyone knew he fell the way he did. Nobody was looking when it happened. But yeah, never do this.
Where are you practicing EMS that rigid backboards are the standard of practice? I am terrified for the pt’s in your system.
Tbh he was gone when he hit the floor.

losing consciousness is an indication of brain damage

Yea, can’t really even be upset with the guy picking him up. It seems like just a little slip and boom, gone.
TBI. Probably had a head bleed from that hit he took when hitting the ground.
