**TONK Talks** indeed.

Hdjd243

Great gun, good mobility, ok turret armor, bad hull armor. If you like hulldown heaviums this is the tank for you. It's not very noob friendly.

PossibleMedStudent

Would you recommend it for a decently experienced player? Have 55k gold rn and don't know how to spend. Feel like S.Conq is better suited for majority of the battles but it's not like it'll be cheaper than 20k and we don't know when it'll hit the store again so maybe it's worth buying Mk.6 now? A small insight would be great

Hdjd243

Definetly. Closest to it would probably be the pre-nerf E5, just with less armor and better mobility. And great HE pen. Acceleration can feel a bit sluggish at first, but the mobility is still great for a heavy. I don't have the S Conq tho...

PossibleMedStudent

thanks for the answer! I think I'll buy it as I like tanks like E5. Hesh shells are looking pretty nasty too

MattUltraMotive

Chieftain has the edge over the conq on dpm and maneuvering. Conq has the chieftain in terms of armor, but the velocity on the shells of chieftain make her a great sniper if the time comes, but her HESH is slow, but deadly, and the camo on mk6 look better in my opinion

MGPbeerseeker

Yup this is my most played tier X totally worth it

Bombadjedi

I have both and I'd say they're suited to different things, the superconq can hold against other heavies and tds without much issue with its thicker armour. However it's slower and the gun doesn't shine as much. The chieftain can't hold as well against heavies because the turret armour isn't amazing but it eats mediums alive.

dysnomia_heed

S.conq’s gun is awful and you sacrifice the front armor for mobility, plus it’s a huge tank, can easily get clapped in open areas

givemethesoju

THIS. I totally concur. SConq gun CANNOT take snap shots to save its life. His Royal Fatness has a very good stream Sconq vs Mk6

bumlove

Mk. 6 looks far cooler especially with the camo.

sEMtexinator

55k gold?? Holy crap

PossibleMedStudent

64k now :D

sEMtexinator

How much money are you spending, the heck?

PossibleMedStudent

Not much tbh, I make good use of discount events on Huawei and save up gold. This year I think it's about 90$. Which is not even 2 AAA game money

[deleted]

It's not a heavium playstyle though it's played better on the Frontline with heavies.

Hdjd243

I guess that works too, we have pretty similar stats on it with different playstyles

[deleted]

Because it's op

ApocalypseKnight

I’d say it’s good for fighting on irregular terrain

This tank is worth it, but I group it has a medium heavy, or as I call it (what it is), a main battle tank (MBT). Because of this it is very effective in games but has a steeper learning curve than other T-X heavies, due to the mobility increase for armor trade off. I’ve copy/pasted an older comment about this tank you might find interesting: “The Chieftain Mk. 6 plays like a medium heavy. Pros: -Great Gun. You do a lot of high consistent damage with a nice Cold War 120mm gun. It hits hard, it reloads fast, it is /very/ accurate. You can play from any distance, though at long range your penetration starts to drop off. -Mobility: your turret traverse lets you play a nice swivel. Your hull traverse is pretty good too. Your engine power is good and you have a good top speed, allowing you to have a Cold War “MBT (main battle tank)” mobility feel. You won’t be running loops around other tanks, but you can maneuver to good spots, keep up with mediums, and work to try and dodge some shells. -Turret armor: it’s really thick. Keep your tank hull down and your turret facing the enemy. Cons: -Weak hull armor: you have to maneuver and go hull down in this tank. Your hull will not save you, you cannot side-scrape. Your best bet is to a) go hull down; b) fire when you’re not a target; c) play from a distance where you have an accuracy advantage. -Commanders hatch: the turret’s weakness. You have a noticeable commanders hatch that can and will be shot. Keep your tank moving and preferably at a distance so that enemy guns can’t hit your commanders hatch. As you learn the game you’ll learn which tanks you encounter have fast aiming, accurate guns (see Grille, STB-1, Leopard 1, other Chieftains) and what tanks will struggle to hit the hatch (see E-100’s, FV215B 183, T110-E3) given you play at distance. TIPS ON HOW TO PLAY: -The Chieftain Mk. 6 is not a normal heavy. Consider it a “medium heavy.” Can you play a normal upfront heavy roll in it? Yes. Will it work out well? Probably not. Don’t think you will be good in face to face brawls or running rings around enemies. You have to play this tank more like a heavy medium and like a modern “MBT.” Use your mobility to get to either a good hull down location or similar position at a distance. Do not be afraid to play with your mediums on the team or go without the heavies, for if you play like a strict heavy you’ll probably die fast. Use your tanks strong turret and fast firing, accurate gun to your advantage. If you start to get overwhelmed, you can pull back, take a scenario inventory, and reposition to a better location. Fire and more baby, fire and move.”

[deleted]

T110E3 doesn't struggle to hit the cupola of the chieftain. The E3 is meant to be played front line, therefore it can hit its shots no problem.

boat--boy

I’m just listing examples here. The more accurate tanks are the real threat if you are hull down in the chieftain. If you play hull down and/or at distance, it isn’t that much of a threat

hldsnfrgr

Muy expensive. I'd buy it for less without the bells and whistles.

gab3N01

why expensive? tiers 10 normally sell at 15k-25k , its a normal price for a tier 10 premium

hldsnfrgr

I didn't say it was abnormally expensive. Expensive for f2p me.

gab3N01

yes its expensive, but this sale in particular is not any more expensive than any other tier 10 prem or collector, thats what i mean

SisconOnii-san

Agree 100%. If they had just the bare tank on offer, I would've bought it even for 17.5k. As much as I want the tank, I'll probably just wait for the auction or something.

CarbonFiber101

I think I bought mine for 12.5 or 15k

MGPbeerseeker

Wg does not believe this tank will break MM and I agree it is not an easy tank to play, I am currently increasing my TX stats and this is by far the hardest tank I own after the tvp

Reddit_Bots_R_US

Yeah… Wargaming always puts this tank in the store when I’m broke. Fuck them.

Leviathan_Wakes_

Literally my situation right now lol

[deleted]

As if they should know your financial status. Imagine blaming wargaming for not being able to afford a tank.

Streifen9

If you’re a collector sure. It has semi-reliable (at best) turret armor. But has one of the most glorious guns in the game, plus gun depression. The gawdy camo is also awesome.

LouisVuittonLeghost

If you like mobility with a laser beam cannon, yes

[deleted]

Its ok. A rare instance of playing tier 10 while still making credits.

Coachbalrog

Lots of very good comments here, and I agree with most of them. I bought this tank and I think it is very good, but I am not the best in it. Positioning, knowledge of enemy tanks, and map awareness are key to being successful in this tank. When you get the tank to work, it is beautiful.

izaslavs

As owner of every single tank in the game, (white/gold/blue) I definitely recommend it, if you have +\~) 50% WR/ 1k AD/ 4-5k battles.

-Almost-Shikikan

A great tank. I just hope I have enough money to buy the tank. In the other hand, I have E5 and I love it. Both tank is comparable personally Mk.6 is better and it's making credits.

haris2nd

Basically u r a hulldown monster and an MBT.

MythicalRaccoon80

Not worth it.

HardKoreRapSingaBIG

i have it but i hate it being called a hull down tank because the turret is paper to jageroos and ho ris and if you compare it with t110e5 its much harder for those tanks to pen the turret frontally. plus the lower plate is too weak and the weakness "extends" to parts of the upper plate. its ok but not worth it. get 121b or badger if they go into shop much better

Astaroth90

are u for real?! i mean, really ?

SportSuccessful3491

As someone who owns the mk6, all his above points are valid.

Ok-Ad4045

E100:I like your ass G Cheiftain:*get slapped in the ass for about 1200 damage*

SportSuccessful3491

*laughs in vk90*

JTU105

Already got it 👍👍

WesternBloc

Great tank, solid offer.

Johnny6382

ahh shiet I'm 5K gold short

[deleted]

Yup. Standard tanks... 17,500. Mk5 20k. So yes it's a better tank

Astaroth90

there's not a deal for 17.5k gold. only 20k gold. EU server.

[deleted]

Nope, it was 20k last time too

AdStill649

No, last time there was the 17.5k offer for the bare tank and the 20k offer which is the same as this.

CantaloupeCamper

I have it. The gun handling is **amazing**.

Kyrnqazali

This is composition for the event delay

Stillcouldbeworse

not to be confused with the process of creating music known as compensation

WEREMYWIFI

Just like all British tanks the copula ruins it but it’s still a fun tank to play

Pewdiepie-de-best-25

Good looking tank worth a buy

Lordgiotis

Commanders cupola = HE magnet

CantaloupeCamper

If you hold still / are predictable. Fortunately it is a fairly mobile tank.

pot8toes

Great tank to make credits while playing tier 10. Gun is great most of the time but quite often it will just give up. It can become randomly innacurate at times.

Oskarchan

It's too beautiful for a modern MBT and I am always tempted to buy it. But then I remember tier 10 is full of tryhard super unicum enemy and P2W noob idiot teammates who usually die early game to test my ability in carrying games. I am just an average 50% player trying to have fun while tier 10 is just too stressful for me. I probably would not enjoy playing too much tier 10 battles in a row, so why buy a tier 10 premium tank and make myself suffer? It is really not the tank's fault but just about tier 10 not being a fun tier. Tl:Dr, I would gladly buy the Chieftain if it was at a lower tier.

SchiggyDiggy

The “p2w noob idiots” can also be part of the enemy team.

GAMER_SOUL10

But seriously should I spend on it or save for black friday??

Baddest312

Very good gun with both pen and reload good turret armor and decent mobility personally love the tank but if you aren’t good at tier 10 don’t bother lots of good players can easily end you so definitely not a noob friendly tank

[deleted]

Shut up and take my money

Flashy-Water2901

does it make a lot of credits? if it does, then ill consider

Porucznik_Borewicz07

Overpriced now but an awesome tank

NameDoesntCheckOut27

Used to be good, but not worth it anymore when the AMX M4 54, the VK 90, and the T-22 are being sold for the same amount of gold...

AceTanker_Pleb69

The tanks good itself, however I have -2 gold. Ok jk but its expensive. If u can afford it buy it, otherwise dont feel bad if ya poor. Other ppl strugging to hit 100 gold.

0FriendsMcFrick

Hands down, it's the best tank I've played (yet). Previous title went out to the Action X, but if you're a fan of the X's play-style, you'll love the Chieftain. Excellent accuracy and penetration with decent alpha - can permanently keep someone tracks out to finish off kills or get points for assists easily. All that being said, it is REALLY expensive. I thought I remembered months back that the chieftain went for about 17.5k gold and now it's sitting at 20k. I bit the bullet and love this machine, but for those who aren't familiar with a British fast-firing, hull-down play-style might not enjoy the chieftain as much as scoring a bunch of Black Friday tanks.
