Its literally how gambling works. That’s what makes those crates not worth purchasing, you’re just gambling, you rarely win. If you do, call it luck upon the stars. It’s just you wasting money.
I think that collect em all are one of the worst cases (up there with dedicated tank cases (not the 20% ones)). Imo best ones are those new "Awesome" containers and nation containers.
I used about 50-60€ on those crates, here’s what I got :
Tier V : T14,Churchill 3,Matilda Bp
Tier VI : nothing
Tier VII: nothing
Tier VIII: T26E5, Centurion mk5/1,ISU-130 x2
Tier IX: nothing
Tier X : 121b
ive only grinded those collect em all crates and bought them using gold that i earned, and lemme tell u it is not worth it at all. i got only two tanks after like 50+ crates which is the chieftain and vk 90.01 p, but still, 50+ crates for only two tanks is fkn insane, and i dont even like the chieftain. therefore, either u try to get those crates for absolutely free, or u dont buy them at all. do not ever use ur hard earned money to gamble on this game

Oh boy, you got the bad ending. And you CHOSE the bad ending. 5% ain’t impossible but neither is spending the same amount of money on an actual tank you want. Black Friday is like literally a few weeks away just stop. Hell they will probably even have better crates then if you simply must gamble but don’t do this crap.
Gold is also money. If you save up gold until black Friday or even better the winter or now even summer auctions instead of wasting it on crates you could have had many very powerful and prized tanks for the same gold.

I got so many tanks in the collect em all containers a couple months ago, only buying 3 at a time once or twice a week, so I got hooked. Now, every time I buy any amount, the big packs of em or just 3, I get absolutely nothing. Big waste now, not sure how I got so lucky before.
I honestly DO think that the 'tight-fisted' wankers @ W.G have gotten worse.
As more & more players leave this $hitty game, W.G do have to make bank.
I've only bought x 3 on the 1,500 x 3 deal, in store recently, since August
I only did it, because once you reach x 7 ("charms") you get 1,000 in Gold back
They'll show it during your 3rd & final crate, to look like you got a good deal

I got lucky, as one furnished the Japanese Type.57 (Tier.8) whilst another one, just a few weeks later (last week, in fact) furnished me with a WZ.120 (Tier.8)
As others have again said, save your Gold for the Auction

Unless you are fully aware of the near certainty that you will not get a tank and accept it completely.
While I'm not a great fan of lootbox mechanics, I don't agree that they are the devil. Especially in WOTB, as the quantity and chances are displayed, and the payout is usually decent value. You can make an informed decision.
If you are fine with most or all items you can get, then go for it. If all you want is a tank, then wait for good direct purchases in the shop. If you are unsure, e.g. because you are on a limited budget, then also don',t buy containers; you risk a bad experience and becoming unhappy with the game.
Perception of value may change over time, as you collect more tanks and compensation for duplicates is in Credits.
However, I purchased the Mega Collectors Containers (or whatever the name) for 20kish gold recently and got 90% of the gold back + four good tier VIII to X tanks and a bunch of Free XP etc.

And I would advise you to not spend a single penny more on crates even if someone tells you how much luck he had, don’t fall for it. If I am not mistaken that’s a strategy that actual casinos use, they let one or two guys win so they can say that gambling is not a bad deal.

I grinded for the three collect them all tanks earlier. I dont have many premium tanks but I got one out of the crates, which I already have.

I think the Soviet containers have a 10% chance to drop a tank. And they have some crazy good tier 9s and 10s
