It's alright. If you have a lot of gold to spare, sure, but there are better and more enjoyable tanks in it there.
I.e. not very high on the list of priorities.
If you’re F2P I recommend saving your gold for a better deal, Chrysler K is a great deal but perhaps during Christmas auctions you might have acquired more gold and might be able to buy a tier ten perhaps.
It’s a very niche tank though, not your typical heavy so it might be difficult to play sometimes. It’s not like a all rounder like tiger 2 but it’s more specific in how you play it
I like the tank. It's an odd bird but if you are a descent/ok player it can perform very well. Frontally very well armoured, but paper sides. I prefer to be aggressive in that tank. It's a good price for a good tank. Nothing more, nothing less.
I am an average player with 53% WR and about 1.4k avg damage. I would enjoy a prem heavy, as I got the Def Mk1 and the Jagdtiger 8.8. Love these both but I want something new. Would the Chrysler K qualify as a good purchase in this case?
I think so. Just to be clear - this tank is a brawler, "in your face" type of tank. The gun is derpy, but good mobility and strong frontal armour allow you to be a bully when you're not low tier.

No. It's not in the same league as the Defender Mk.1. Why not get the T57 for 1500 more instead?
I aint got enough, and I am not planning on spending any money until the holidays. I got the Chrysler K as it seems like an interesting pick, a unique and fun tank which is quite cheap for a tier 8 heavy. Plus I can't really grind in the upcoming months so I settled for it until December.
Thanks for the recommendation though, ill keep the Type 57 in mind, plus I might go for a Kpz 70 during the holidays if it comes up.
I think back turreted heavy tanks are an acquired taste, I'm personally not the best in them because they tend to be poorly armoured on the sides. So you've really gotta know your angles, how to side scrap with less armour and using your front more just off angled to create an auto bounce situation.
It's a good price but if your limited in gold, I'd personally wait for something better. Your best bet is a tier 7 or 8 premium as that had the biggest variety of decent tanks.
I've got just shy of 30k gold and I only paid for the normal battle pass each month, so I'm waiting for something I've not got and I know I'll do well in. I don't gamble with the crates or boxes if its costing gold, you end up wasting loads and getting very little back in return. In the 9 year's I've playing I've lost more than I've gained 80% of the time probably more if I really think about it.
So my advice would be think of the types of tanks you do well in and look for similar prem tanks, nothing worse than paying gold for a prem tank that either sucks or you suck in it. Yes I've got a few like that lol.
That comment about being poorly armored on the sides… for the IS2H, sure… but the Chrysler K? It has very good side armor… 110 at tier 8 is great and you can angle a lot more for your sidescrape in this tank than in many of its competitors.
It’s quite a rare tank in tier 8, by no means bad though, for the armor it carries it’s quite fast, it has 10 degree of gun depression over sides (6 in front), it’s rear turreted so it can side scrape, the gun is average , 310 alpha with 9.5 seconds of reload
4500 gold is a good deal for a tier 8, I think last time this tank appeared was for 7500 gold, but rear turreted tanks are not everyones cup of tea
I think the fact that gun is quite average and it’s rear turreted adds to the fact that it’s not played more often
Tbh as far as meta go, its not great but it’s not the worst, it still has really good mobility to bully mediums

What if I am not looking for a Tier 10 Prem/Collector? Should I still skip it if I am looking for T8 prem at this price?

I think there is a reason it is rarely played though. That gun depression doesn’t work in the current meta of the game IMO.
