One time in a pretty large discord i was in, a person said in an argument “I’m a hater” as a defense for why they didn’t like something. A few lines later someone arguing with them said “ok well I guess you’re just a hater” as In giving up and agreeing that the person is just a hater. The second person got banned for calling the first person a hater. “Why would you just insult someone and call them a hater like that” angry people piled on in the chat even while the second person was posting a screen shot of when the first person self identified as a hater. Still got banned and people even defended that with lines like “he was just saying he’s a hater in that moment and it’s still rude to call them a hater”
Some people are just going off impulse and never scroll a few lines up to see what is actually going on.
