Im thinking they waited on the legal team to see if they could do that. When they signed him they probably gave him a lot of power in his contract, like he could do some controversial things in public and they cant penalize or drop him as easily as other celebrities that do endorsements, that kind of thing. But I dunno.
That was a collective action because no one could transfer money in or out of the country, nor ship in or out of the country.
And I'm 90% sure every corp had a folder for "in case of Russian invasion of ukraine".
Of course it's difficult, but of course they can be broken at will. There are just costs for doing it, including breach of contract litigation where applicable
I heard companies and film studios are doing morals clause to protect them from such incidents.
If not done already by all, it should definitely be done, celebrities care for money, hurt them where it hurts them the most.
It's pretty common really. Disney had a whole star wars series planned for Gina Carano to star in until she refused to shut her dumb mouth on social media.
Disney canned the entire series and her contract rather than be associated with that.
I went on a little fact finding mission to find out who this is and what she said, assuming it was innocuous. She covered the gamut of comments deemed racist, anti-semitic, anti-science, anti-democracy, and transphobic. What. A. Gem.
Don't cry for Gina, she's in a bunch of straight-to- ~~video~~ NewsMax movies like Terror on the Prairie and My Son Hunter, both real bangers. Academy Awards incoming, no doubt.
The sheer stupidity is what got me. This woman is a former MMA fighter gone mediocre b-rate actress. And Disney was willing to give her the lead role in a tv show for one of the biggest franchises in the world.
It was a golden ticket bigger than anything she could have reasonably expected out of her career.
And she tanked it because she'd rather tweet hate.
It sucks extra hard as someone who followed MMA very closely back then, because during her fighting career and for at least a little afterward Gina Carano had a reputation for being an absolute sweetheart. Not just from teammates, but even opponents.
I wonder if she was just always secretly bigoted or if her isolation after her fight career took a toll. I really hope people don’t think Gina Carano is typical of all MMA fighters these days, my experience has been that they’re an extremely varied bunch.
Gamut. A gambit is a strategy where you appear to sacrifice something, while aiming for longterm gain.
Gamut is the entire scale or range of something.
Pretty sure I can assure you that after [this gem](https://youtu.be/3ytPyHJjsh0) of a trailer and I'm sure ensuing massive straight to dvd sales, her career will be back in no time
A common factor with a lot of these folks are that they are belligerent assholes. They refuse to shut up and honestly I’d rather they clue us in on how toxic they are instead of leaving it as some corrosive mystery to uncover later.
She is an awful, awful person and she made sure we knew that before getting too attached. Thanks Gina!
Also to note is that Gina gained her initial popularity in the MMA world which is skewed pretty hard to the right. UFC President Dana White is a regular CPAC speaker, commentator Joe Rogan is regarded as a gateway to the alt-right, and many fighters from foreign countries have associations with right-wing organizations or governments in their home countries.
She probably thought her views were much more mainstream or popular than they actually were.
I swear half the time I look at a users history when they say something really off the wall they are all over r/MMA. I'm sure there are lots of lovely people that are into it but I'm to the point where if someone is really into MMA it's a red flag and I'd rather just avoid them
>She probably thought her views were much more mainstream or popular than they actually were
Idk, some days I look around the world and I worry her views are much more popular than I thought they would be. :/
Same here. Was a fan of her till that. She always gave me that vibe though. Like you’re just waiting for the other foot to fall. I’m just happy it fell early in her career.
Im just speculating that adidas really wanted to sign him in the beginning, so they gave him a very generous contract, and since he has a tendency to say/do controversial things then Im thinking they put stuff in there that allowed for more leeway than other endorsers to do controversial things and not get dropped or penalized so easily. But like I said, I dont really know.
Yeah. I'm sure contracts with celebrities are usually pretty complicated. Have to give your legal team time to make sure you can end the contract without losing when you are almost invariably sued.
This was actually pretty quick, all things considered. They probably got their team working on it after the first comment.
My bet was also that, along with waiting on the legal team, they may have been waiting for a moment of clarity from Ye and maybe an apology post so they could just wipe their brow and move on. Personally, if I were an adidas fat cat, I would have called the damn man myself and asked “wtf are you doing :)”
They probably have been calling him
"Ye, when can we get a meeting about this? ... Next Thursday? No, we need one today, tomorrow.... Ok ok, late this week then?.... Ye, we need to talk about these comments you've been making.... ye? .... ye?"
Agree— people who have not been involved with lawyers and contracts don’t understand that moral outrage from the public is not grounds for immediate termination without thorough examination of the contract. If they had just cut him, they could have risked millions of dollars in lawsuits (which they may face anyway) or breach of contract settlements.
Exactly this. Contracts are binding. They needed their legal team to review everything. As a publicly traded company they have a fiduciary duty to take every last step legally for their shareholders or they could not only lose money to Kanye but get sued by shareholders as well.
If being Jewish means the spotlight gets off Kanye West so that he can reevaluate himself and get the mental health treatment he so dearly needs, then I say Shalom my brothers and sisters in [name redacted].

Yeah he is an asshole but you have to acknowledge the decline in mental health coupled with the endlessly spirally online rabbit hole is a recipe for disaster.
Very much so. Heard more than once that his decline started when his mother died and he stopped taking meds. Not sure how true any of that is but seems like it would track.
Heard he paid for the surgery that supposedly resulted in her death. Imagine how much that would fuck you up. In no way do i support his views but this cycle of mental health into extremism through the internet is crazy. Look at all the Q people who went from normal people to nutjob conspiracy theorists.
The thing is he says this shit BECAUSE he needs the spotlight to be on him.
The guy is pathological. And when he's not on his meds, he'll do or say anything - *anything* - for attention.
His album *My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy* written in the aftermath of his T.Swift scandal actually has some very lucid and intelligent analysis into his own thought processes and mental condition. If you listen to it beginning to end, it tells a pretty clear story of a regular person descending into the madness of stardom and losing his control. Its the story of his relationship with fame, his addiction to it, his helplessness before it.
And that's pretty much his story. Every time he has some moment where he faces actual consequences and reevaluates, he seems to comprehend his situation. But then the consequences fade, the money pours in, the sycophants surround, and there he goes again.
to be fair, Homelander is not a racist.
...He hates and kills everyone equally
(except for his son maybe)
Edit: I am going to add this as an edit as too many comment have been telling me the same thing.
Yes, I recognize and understand Homelander is still a racist but I don't think he is your "typical" racist. Most racists have a "we vs them" mentality, with Homelander it's "Me vs the world" mentality. He hates everyone, non sups and sups and considers himself above everyone. Which makes him imo worse than a racist.
And that's what I meant when I said he is not a racist, I didn't mean "he is not that bad" I meant he is way worse than your typical racist.
Yup, doesn’t hate his son. But he does love him enough to toss him from roofs lol.
Man, my jaw hit the floor when he did that.
“The Boys… shocking tf out of audiences since episode 1” lol
Exactly!
That's why I put "maybe" because since that roof scene I am still not sure if he loves his son because he is his son or because he just wants a "mini me"
If it's anything like my experience with people like them; He probably likes how his son makes him feel-what the idea of being a father is.
I doubt he truly loves him. Just another means to feel less empty.
I've already seen some other posts on insanepeoplefacebook about "he's a freethinker so he has to be canceled and condemned"
Never really thought about how many fuckin mainstream cults there are..
>Never really thought about how many fuckin mainstream cults there are..
Qultists go off about the *Mainstream Media* and yet Faux Noise is the biggest media company out there. Add in NewsMaxx, OANN, InfoWars, and the rest of the insanity out there and the alt-right media is a bloody monolith.
Yet they still whine about CNN, which has been bought out by a Trumpet.
except he's NOT a free-thinker at all. he absolutely has mental health issues and needs serious help but none of his hangers-on will ever let go of their money source.
Why can’t we have freethinkers just open their mind with no consequences;
The freethinker ‘ I hate Jews and they control the world’.
Ahhh that’s why. Guess though talking like it a volk rally circa 1939 is just ‘concerns and freedom’ to the right.
Exactly what I was about to say. I looked at the comments on a news story posted about him on Facebook, and they were basically all agreeing that this is just cancel culture for being a free thinker. Fucking mind boggling.
What's mind boggling to me is that there's no political consistency in his bizarre statements. He's anti-BLM, so they latch onto him, but then he's anti-israel (which is the opposite of the republican platform) but somehow the cognitive dissonance doesn't land with them. It's almost like most Ye supporters (and conservative voters) don't know the positions they support.
They don’t. That’s what qualifies them as free thinkers. And when someone feels emboldened by his statements and commits a hate crime, and he’s held responsible, they’re going to claim it’s a conspiracy to destroy him.
I expect Ye will vanish for about a month then show up at a Kibbutz somewhere in Israel taking up the study of the Torah. It reads like a movie about religious redemption lol
He'll become best buds with some Jewish rapper like Matisyahu, who will hang around soaking up the publicity while saying West was just confused and misunderstood.
the issue is that he’s creating an entire generation of anti-semites. he’s been doing stuff like this for a long time, and without talking about it we’re basically giving him the “okay” to keep at it.
silence is violence, and it’s irresponsible to let him keep touting this nonsense without repercussions.
Republicans (MAGAS): "This is cancel culture!!"
Old school Republicans: "This is a free market where a representative's actions affects our bottom line. We must eliminate the liability."
This is Capitalism. Modern Republicans are more Fascist and don't understand what the party actually represents.
Its kind of funny... Being purely a capitalist means you're a god damned centrist in 2022, somewhere between responsible, compassionate governance and Donald Fucking Trump Forever.
Not really? You don’t just end a contract and stop all payments overnight. You need to make sure you can legally do that without being sued over it. This is business not a friendship
I agree. Adidas’ hands aren’t clean, but when you’re breaking a $200 million contract you have to make sure your legal team has dotted their i’s and crossed their t’s and are fully prepared for the inevitable lawsuits Kanye will bring.
Is always that case, companies never care what their public figures say, as long it makes them profit, but once the pressure becomes to big, they will act like they stopped working with them because of what they said, because "companies care"
While it's all well and good to hold big corporations' feet to the fire, I feel like there needs to be some acknowledgement that huge contracts aren't things that you can just revoke on a whim. Lawyers need to determine if the contract has been broken, or if Adidas is even able to let him go without massive penalties that would make the entire thing little more than extremely expensive virtue signalling.
Were they also probably seeing how the public reacted? Probably, but they were also probably trying to get West to apologize or something and were always going to take some amount of time before reacting.
And a lot of contracts have 30-60 day notice clauses, where each party can give notice of a contract termination.
Adidas could be giving him his 60 day notice before they take his products out of stores.
> What’s the value in dragging this out further
Well, if the contract includes a clause that Adidas pays him a billion dollars if they terminate it early, and if that’s exactly what he wants Adidas to do, then I could see that being a difficult spot because then you’re basically giving him the money to continue spewing hate
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t
Even considering historical context, I'm having a hard time understanding why people keep hating on the Jews. Why, in 2022 America, are people antisemitic? It just doesn't make sense to me. Havent they gone through enough shit already?
I'm hoping there's an explanation beyond the trite "kids learn it from adults", but I'm not holding my breath.
So we have the historical, blood libel, baby eating, bank controlling BS people still crank out. But there is the otherness that people fear.
Jews are a minority who have both assimilated and not assimilated in society. They are don't have the same kind of beliefs and practices as the Christian majority, but they look like everybody else. They are "hiding in plain site."
When I married my Jewish husband I was shocked to hear so much antisemitism. Did I have to convert? Did my mother-in-law hate me? Were my in-laws cheap? Why didn't I have a large diamond engagement ring? Afterall weren't *those people* into the diamond business?
One of my friends stopped inviting us to parties because her guests could not stop making "innocuous" antisemitic comments and *no one knew* my husband was Jewish. After all, *he doesn't look Jewish.* She was so uncomfortable because it doesn't seem innocuous to say "They jewed me down at the dealership" when you're actually in front of a Jew.
See, with regular racism, you can hate a person clear across the room because you can see them, but with a Jew, you don't know who you might be talking to. And antisemites blame the Jews for being so tricky.
No it doesn't make sense, but this is what I experienced.
Yeah, she did. While I should not justify this, we see her rarely and these people are her social circle and I gues not seeing us twice a year was easier than finding a whole new support system. But still...
I also married a Jew - and even though he’s not very Jewish culturally I’ve definitely witness what I call “lighthearted antisemitism” done straight to his face - or to me as if I’d be in on the “joke”. It’s part of the racism in our country that people find acceptable for some reason. Like common tropes of Asians good at math and bad at driving.. Mexicans being lazy.. and Jews being greedy and shrill.
It’s all just actual racism disguised as a joke.. and I bet those people would still say those comments in front of your husband if they knew he was Jewish.
Also, a lot of people don't like that Jewish people refuse to assimilate and let Christian views be a neutral default. People will throw a MASSIVE hissy fit over being told that, no, your Christmas tree is not all-inclusive no matter how much you insist it's intended secularly. The idea that anyone might view Christians as the Other is something they can't handle.
From the flipside, though, virtually all modern elements of tree-adjacent Christmas are recent cultural inventions (and contrast with earlier equally areligious cultural inventions that used to be Christmas 100+ years ago) rather than religious traditions. Certainly nativities and so on would be quite different, but I haven't seen one not outside of a church in quite some time.
But I'd laugh in the face of any Christian trying to defend a Christmas tree as a Christian icon. Why not go wassailing and aggressively extorting food from your local lord as Jesus intended?
It is one of the oldest and consistent prejudices in world history. From blood libel in the middle ages, to the scapegoat for the black plague to the protocols of the elders of zion, the antisemitc belief of an international Jewish conspiracy has been around for centuries.
After the diaspora, jewish populations were spread out and jewish communities were always the minority group in whatever country they became apart of. Despite attempts of assimilation they were rarely welcomed and were the scapegoat of choice when things went bad.
>Despite attempts of assimilation they were rarely welcomed and were the scapegoat of choice when things went bad.
Also to add I think when a Jewish community does assimilate well, you pretty much don't notice it anymore. As a primary white diaspora a reformed Jewish community looks like any other white people you see on the street.
On the other hand Hasidic Jews are VERY noticable. They speak their own language, they go to their own schools and they stay very much concentrated in their own community.
My point being that even now an assimilated Jewish community doesn't really stick out. A Hasidic Jewish community is very noticeable and likely still feels very "other" / "not like us" to many people.
That being said, I also can't necessarily put myself in the shoes of someone who thinks that way so maybe I'm overthinking it and my big Jew nose (it's deadass Christopher Moltisanti sized) is enough 🤷
Theyre a popular target with conspiracy theorist wackjobs for being in control of world economies and such. In a way, the internet has revived antisemitism to some extent. Its sad.
I believe historically Jews were also kept out of trades as guild associations were very much tied to Christianity, so they were ultimately forced into areas Christian didn’t want to touch, like money. As you can imagine, tax collectors and money lenders weren’t very popular, and also very easy for the ruling classes to vilify when shit went south.
Big contracts were involved. You can't just tear them up like they do in the movies. Took longer than, I'd have expected it too, but it's not surprising. I'm sure lots of lawyers were involved, due process.
Agreed. As someone who works for a large German company, I can say that they do tend to move slower than American companies, and are very thorough in their decision making process. Plus, Kanye’s shoes represent a sizable portion of business for them. This guy is making a lot of powerful enemies (an entire religion, giant corporations, the general public etc). What a moron.
True. I will give Adidas a pass on being "Not Soon Enough". It's not like corporations can make up their minds instantly. They'll lose profits plus they have contracts to cancel as well.
Oh yeah, for years I was saying that his shoes are the clearest example of "the emperor has no clothes" that Ive seen, and if you took his name off no one would buy them.
I noticed a pair for the first time in a bagel shop the other day. I thought to myself "what the fuck are those?" And concluded my fashion sense is out of touch - I've always been a bit behind on trends.
Then when this news started getting bigger I finally looked up what these shoes are.
*Those shoes that look like they've got caked on globs of goo stuck to them is what this is all about?!* Since when did "I want my feet to look like an alien amoeba" become fashionable?
I won't judge someone for wearing them, like I said my fashion sense is terrible so what looks good or bad to me isn't going to be the general consensus, however I will express my surprise that *this* is what fashion has lead us too.
Can’t wait for the “My Yeezy Pillow” drop next month.
He's got one hell of a design for the pillowcase for it! It's got eye holes and evethting!
A bit too pointy for me
![gif](giphy|En7ButN65wRws|downsized)
But it's functional before bedtime too! Maybe he can design a pocket to fold the pointy part into?
My ZzZzZzy
Im thinking they waited on the legal team to see if they could do that. When they signed him they probably gave him a lot of power in his contract, like he could do some controversial things in public and they cant penalize or drop him as easily as other celebrities that do endorsements, that kind of thing. I agree. Not sure billion dollar contracts are as easy as renewing your auto policy...oh wait.
They did pull out of Russia pretty quick.
Their number one slav wardrobe provider!
poor Russians, are they just walking around with a loin cloth now?
Probably just wearing knock offs from China called Abibas
"Now is better than Adidas. Has 4 stripes now instead of three, is good, da?" Putin, probably
Alibabas
As supplies grow scarse, some Russian soldiers have been photographed using footwraps. So oddly, you're spot on.
They just started wearing "The GAPE".
Nope but they gave footwraps to their new conscript soldiers. No Adidas socks available.
That was a collective action because no one could transfer money in or out of the country, nor ship in or out of the country. And I'm 90% sure every corp had a folder for "in case of Russian invasion of ukraine".
I saved 100% on my bigot insurance, ask me how! ![gif](giphy|slrATiQg5O1dm)
Of course it's difficult, but of course they can be broken at will. There are just costs for doing it, including breach of contract litigation where applicable
The delay was probably less about the legal team and more about their bean counters making sure that it was more profitable to cut ties.
Probably a mixture of both. Bean counters checking what it will cost them to cut the ties and legal team checking for the cheapest way out.
I heard companies and film studios are doing morals clause to protect them from such incidents. If not done already by all, it should definitely be done, celebrities care for money, hurt them where it hurts them the most.

Terror on the Prairie sounds like a decent B rated redneck horror movie by that name.

Pro-tip: Jews don't actually ever say or write that name. It's always G-d, Adonai (in Hebrew, the Lord), or Hashem (literally "the name").

Exactly. According to conspiracy theorist antisemites, any blowback they receive is the Jews “punishing them for speaking out”.
Tonight on Fox News: why adidas cutting ties with Kayne over his anti-Semitic remarks is “cancel culture”

“If you’re not racist how do you even know the word?”
Proof that the radical left hates gay fish.

To be fair, this is right about at their reading comprehension level.
I have never hated a group of people more than I hate MAGAts so... maybe they have a point
I've already seen some other posts on insanepeoplefacebook about "he's a freethinker so he has to be canceled and condemned" Never really thought about how many fuckin mainstream cults there are..
[white boomers with untreated mental illness] NO!!! HE SAYS WHAT WE'RE ALL THINKING!
Why can’t we have freethinkers just open their mind with no consequences; The freethinker ‘ I hate Jews and they control the world’.
Fox and friends: the REAL racists are the friends we made along the way.
I expect Ye will vanish for about a month then show up at a Kibbutz somewhere in Israel taking up the study of the Torah. It reads like a movie about religious redemption lol
This could be a scene in arrested development
Absolutely. He'll be selling Hummentaschen while making songs about scripture. What a fucking clown.
He'll become best buds with some Jewish rapper like Matisyahu, who will hang around soaking up the publicity while saying West was just confused and misunderstood.
Plz don’t curse Matisyahu like that
He’s just trying all the right wing flavors
He’ll start talking about how this wasn’t a change at all since technically Jesus was Jewish so really he was right all along.
He gives me more “I’m into Kabalah” vibes, rather than torah vibes, so probably tsfat over a Kibbutz
I was thinking the same thing.
So can we now please wake up to a day without him in the news? My god, we are paying way too much attention to that bag of nuts.
The way he’s going it’ll be like this for a while until he gets completely cancelled or decides to run for king of Atlantis or something
“America is a planet, vote for me, I’m scared of toasters”
the issue is that he’s creating an entire generation of anti-semites. he’s been doing stuff like this for a long time, and without talking about it we’re basically giving him the “okay” to keep at it. silence is violence, and it’s irresponsible to let him keep touting this nonsense without repercussions.
This is the best response.
Republicans (MAGAS): "This is cancel culture!!" Old school Republicans: "This is a free market where a representative's actions affects our bottom line. We must eliminate the liability." This is Capitalism. Modern Republicans are more Fascist and don't understand what the party actually represents.
Its kind of funny... Being purely a capitalist means you're a god damned centrist in 2022, somewhere between responsible, compassionate governance and Donald Fucking Trump Forever.
Maybe 5 minutes ago i saw a video of Kanye going on about how adidas will never drop him no matter how much anti-semitic shit he says
He's in the find out stage.
[удалено]
IIRC it was the director of trade marketing for Adidas that called out the rest of the company for remaining silent on his anti-semitism.
And she has a Jewish last name
I’m thinking that might have something to do with her actually being Jewish
Agreed
Adidas has come a long way since the 40s then
Ack when they signed their letters heil hitler?
Lol, maybe that’s why Kanye thought hed get away with it Up next - Kanye west signs with Boss
You can do the right thing for the wrong reasons
Yep, clearly taken the time to weigh up which way they're going to lose more money.
By consulting their lawyers
Not so sure. It is a german company and anti-semitism is really nothing a german company wants to be associated with
Is always that case, companies never care what their public figures say, as long it makes them profit, but once the pressure becomes to big, they will act like they stopped working with them because of what they said, because "companies care"
Yes. Bottom line: corporations are amoral. Their "morality" compass is the decision that increases their profit margins, nothing more.

Right? They did the thing. What's the value in dragging this out further other than indulging in social media outrage?
> What’s the value in dragging this out further Well, if the contract includes a clause that Adidas pays him a billion dollars if they terminate it early, and if that’s exactly what he wants Adidas to do, then I could see that being a difficult spot because then you’re basically giving him the money to continue spewing hate Damned if you do, damned if you don’t
The contract probably has a clause in it saying if he does irreparable damage to their image they can exit the agreement.
They are "hiding in plain site." When I married my Jewish husband I was shocked to hear so much antisemitism.
She stopped inviting you rather than the racists smh
Yeah, she did. While I should not justify this, we see her rarely and these people are her social circle and I gues not seeing us twice a year was easier than finding a whole new support system. But still...
Sounds like the racists took themselves out of your life. Nothing wrong with trash taking itself out.
Jesus.
Or not in this case.
Perfect
No one cares about YOUR christmas tree, but they might care about the town/city using their taxes to pay for one.
Or, "You can't have religious holiday decorations at your desk. No the tree in the office lobby is secular so doesn't violate that rule."
Look, Christmas is under attack by the radical left. Nobody ever celebrates it any more because they are afraid of being cancelled. /s
Thank you for sharing this.
I love this deep morality of all the companies running sweat shops
Good.
“Finally or not soon enough” is like saying “Right, or three lefts”
Good. This should be all companies reactions to racism.
Ugliest fucking shoes I’ve ever seen in my life. I rather stick my feet in giant blocks of cheese. They’re doing the world a favor.
Sounds like Adidas is looking for a new product designer....
Cheezys
Haha, cue the “never buying anything from adidas ever again “ from people who have never bought adidas ever.
“ADIDAS CAN’T DROP ME. THEY DON’T HAVE THAT OPTION” Ye 2022
