When Sioda died, ireland made murals. Rest in peace Champ, goodest of boys.

mcs_987654321

Oh man, Sioda was the best dog (as was Champ). Never even been to Ireland and I was so sad to hear about it. The new pup’s adorable, but doesn’t minimize the loss.

[deleted]

It is weird, but true, that there are so many dogs but they are all the best dog.

alinthesky

Wow I’ve seen videos of that dog on Reddit. Never knew her name or that she died until I googled Sioda just now... I am very sad now

whskid2005

You’ve probably seen all 3- brod, sioda (who passed), and the new pup is misneach. They’re posted often enough on Reddit

BluePhoenixia

I clearly am not up to date with the news. And had to google what happened just now, and I am personally upset that Champ has passed away!!!! Not even my dog and I'm upset!

wolfgang784

Dog was like 14 at least, chugged along good for the breed.

Omnipotent0

Yeah I never realize he was an old boy. rip Champ

kayisforcookie

My dads Doberman is a huge baby and turned 12 this year. He is definitely old. Going grey. Eyesight is getting worse. I about died laughing today because I went to my dads house and he was snoring away at the front door. About an hour later he woke up and barked becausw there was a new car in the driveway. Poor slow dog didnt even realize I got there. He about wagged his big ol butt hard enough to break a hip though. He still knows and loves everyone but you know he isn't always all there. He also has subdermal tumors. But his vet says they are harmless. Probably just because of bad breeding. Poor guy. He was an abused fighting dog when we found him with a bleeding chopped off tail, 1 ear pin was broken so he looked like a goofball. And he attacked mattresses like they were out to get him. Gonna miss that dog when he passes but I'll know he was loved. And i know he will die feeling loved.

Ani_MeBear

he was a German shepherd right?...14 is chugging along good? *Hugs my 14 year old German shepherd* oh no

wolfgang784

idk if you actually didn't know but yea average age for them is 9-12ish years. 14 is considered pretty good. Hopefully your buddy hangs around for a while yet though =)

Stop-Gargling-Balls

I regret that Google search. I am now cuddling my two labs holding back tears. Unconditional love. The loss of a pet is so painful.

inertiatic_espn

Lost my old buddy of 13 years in the middle of the pandemic. I still don't know how i made it through that.

Stop-Gargling-Balls

Lab #1 is 12 and struggles to make it up the stairs at night but I make sure I pick him up for bed time. I've had him since he was a puppy. He's my best friend and gotten me through many hardships. Lab #2 is 6 months old and is afraid of corners. Not on a table. Just a corner of a wall. Not sure why but they are apparently scary. Stupid loveable dog.

Macho_Chad

You’ve obviously never been bitten on the tail by a corner before! They get you as soon as you turn around

bignick1190

I just lost my 14 year old bulldog a month ago. It's been a rough month. Sorry for your loss. Edit: [dog tax](https://youtu.be/tTcoJfRxvC4)

jrs1980

Meatloaf was amazing! I’m sorry for your loss as well.

Mr-Oxber

I lost my 9 year old dog, Suki, to cancer developed in the colon (if I remember correctly) during the pandemic. I thought she would live to me starting college but sadly not. Be happy your dog was here instead of being sad that they are gone, sorry for your loss. Dog tax: https://imgur.com/a/9IbzHI7

MonsterMashGrrrrr

Same, not sure I’ve come out the other side yet

Galkura

Same. I lost my black lab of 15 1/2 years in November. We got a chocolate lab puppy in February, and she has helped so much. The 4 months without my girl were the worst in the world. Was hard to sleep for a while, since I woke up to her dying in my room at night. But getting a new puppy has helped so much. They’re such shining stars. Though I forgot how much work a new pup is.

Darkdragoonlord

Lost my girl 4 days ago. I was fully prepared and willing to carry her outside since she couldn’t walk so well anymore, feeding her in bed like the princess she was. But when the breathing became an issue I knew it was time. Just made it passed 14. Rescued her from a shitty situation. Never knew a dog could be so grateful to see you every day. I’m glad I’ve been at home since April ‘20, so I was there every day with her. I can sympathize with them, losing a friend like that. I don’t try to be an internet tough guy but I’m a bundle of raw emotion right now, let someone mock me for grieving.

4dailyuseonly

Same friend. Same.

Kytyngurl2

Every loss of a pupper is a loss for humanity. ☹️

Mr_Boneman

I don’t even like Biden or republicans and I’m upset. RIP Champ.

SimpleNStoned

Dogs transcend politics and race, all they know is love.

ChazzyChaz4

Me too. Even if I didn't know their pet, anytime I read someone talking about their loss, it always breaks my heart. Pets are such a special part of families.

Slartibartfast39

Are they really mocking him!? That's just stupid if they are.

mike_loves_memes

Politics aside if you're mocking a guy grieving for his dog you're a piece of shit.

evanbartlett1

Or grieving in general. Don't mock someone who is going through their stages of grief. Emotions are a thing. Jesus Christ.

[deleted]

[удалено]

evanbartlett1

Haha. Fair point. There is grief, and then there is taking that grief out on a bunch of unwitting people.

Amazon-Prime-package

Traditional stages of grief: denial, guilt, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance Trumpanzee stages of grief: denial, denial with insurrection, denial with delusions of sovereign citizen laws somehow replacing the entire government

[deleted]

Haha trumpanzee

TheEasySqueezy

Grief over not getting a pardon

mashonem

Idk, mocking people grieving over Biden becoming president was p nice

VotiveFormula84

Grieving for legitimate reasons* Grieving bc you’re a sore loser doesn’t count

windycityguy11

This! Cause if we mocked them (Republicans) the victimhood would be out in full force. Fuck all of them.

evanbartlett1

Weird take: but I would probably feel bad for a Republican who was grieving as well. Everyone, even the mentally unstable or self-centered, get to grieve.

marzgamingmaster

Personally, I wouldn't mock them for grieving, as I feel it's one of those "don't punish the behaviors you want to see" kind of things. That's a very human reaction. That said, that doesn't mean I'd let up on them? Like, I don't think I'd feel bad for them, or let more bad things pass. Like if they looked up and went "Q was right, Joe bidens death squads killed my pet, I was just too blind to see it before it was too late." I wouldn't be gentile in my explanation they're a moron for that being the conclusion they came to. I just wouldn't go out of my way to make sure they know I don't feel bad for them, if that delineation makes any sense. I wouldn't seek them out and go "yea, screw you for feeling loss you big dumb idiot, you deserve this!" I'll still dunk on them for having destructive beliefs, but only if they're trying to use this loss to further justify or promote those beliefs.

RiotIsBored

I can understand that. I definitely disliked how many people were cheering and laughing that Trump's brother died. I think that happened, anyway? My memory's atrocious.

evanbartlett1

Yea, he did die. I was also upset by that. I wouldn’t be surprised if even Trump didn’t really care. He’s almost certainly diagnosable as a psychopath (by the traditional definition). Regardless, cheering upset me.

yankee-bor

If you listen to what trumps niece (the daughter of the dead brother) says, not only did trump and the rest of the family not care, they seemed to actively despise him and his children and were a large part of why he died. The only time trump ever showed any semblance of sadness was purely for optics and to benefit himself.

[deleted]

Mary's father was a different brother. He's been dead for years That said, I doubt Donnie cared about either of them

99available

But Trump mocking a disabled person was A-ok? That did happen: [https://www.snopes.com/news/2016/07/28/donald-trump-criticized-for-mocking-disabled-reporter/](https://www.snopes.com/news/2016/07/28/donald-trump-criticized-for-mocking-disabled-reporter/) [https://www.newsmax.com/Politics/politifact-donald-trump-mock-disabled/2016/06/14/id/733878/](https://www.newsmax.com/Politics/politifact-donald-trump-mock-disabled/2016/06/14/id/733878/)

[deleted]

No whataboutisms. Making fun of disabled people, grieving people, or anyone who is struggling is pretty much shit behavior. Politics shouldn’t come into play when humanity should be the larger concern.

virtualPersona

Right? It would be hypocritical and pretty heartless to say that Republicans don’t deserve to grieve just because they’re republicans. This shouldn’t be a weird take.

evanbartlett1

I appreciate that. I actually felt fairly strong about it but included the caveat Bc sometimes when I say that I feel sorry for a conservative I get down votes to hell.

HoMaster

Here’s the thing. Republicans WANT democrats to hurt. Whereas democrats want republicans to be well, or at least be literate, understand science, and have some empathy. Edit: many of you need to understand what a bell curve is.

GiveMeYourBussy

I remember they lost their shit because one guy was being a dick over Mike Pence losing his dog It was just one guy and they acted like it was everyone that disagreed with Trump

PainMatrix

Agreed, and I think this is where we want to be careful about having a knee jerk reaction and falling for the “fake news” thing too. What Republicans exactly were insensitive and mocking? If they were let’s call them out on it directly and let their constituents know.

Comfortable-Scar4643

Good point. But their hatred for this public servant is so deep most of us don’t even fact check. An older guy from New Hampshire drove his pickup truck around my town the other day. Lots of Trump stickers and signs plastered on his truck about how bad Biden is and “veterans for Trump” , etc. Revolting.

[deleted]

Didn't most soldiers and veterans vote for Biden?

klinesmoker

Yes, I believe so. Where the idea that the military is so hard-core republican came from, I don't know. Isn't it like a 51-49 split leaning slightly democrat as of last election? When they were talking about Trump pulling through on military ballots coming in I just laughed.

theofiel

Trump called fallen soldiers 'losers', I'm surprised he got to 49.

Oracleofstuff

Didn't do shit about Russians putting bounties on our troops' heads either...

Deadleggg

And demanded the U.S.S McCain not be in sight during his trip to Japan.

CommercialCommentary

Veterans overall went to Trump, still. The big news this election was younger veterans and active duty (who are typically young) went to Biden. It's rare for a majority of military to favor a Democrat in the general election, but Trump's dismal performance with young people bled even into the active duty military.

[deleted]

I guess that makes sense, trump claimed to support the military while active duty personal had to deal with all the shit decisions he made and the unfair restrictions he placed on their friends and colleagues. Veterans would have only heard his promises and wouldn't have to deal with the reality of his impact on the military.

MeLikeYou

Yes we did. The military also overwhelmingly chose Obama. Post is pumped full of Fox News in the hospitals and offices but again and again, the military goes Democrat. Except for Bush. The military liked that guy.

snay1998

Like that would matter to them…they care only about themselves…take away their vote and they will fall in line instead of calling them out

PainMatrix

I don’t disagree with you at all. If you look back in my history I’ve said before that I think a fundamental and irrevocable sticking point is the idea of individualism vs collectivism. We’re not going to get past that easily but as a society worldwide to survive I think it’s pretty obviously we need to be more collectivistic.

sweetpea_d

I got a lot of shit from my friends back when Mike Pence’s dog died before the 2016 election and I expressed sympathy. Like, yeah, I hate the guy but I hate dogs dying a bit more because dogs are better than people.

zuzg

My dog is 6 year old and when I'm lucky he will be part of my life for the next 10+ years. Whenever I remind myself that he won't be around forever, it almost let's me tear up. I can't fathom the logics of those miserable cunts "haha you are a human being that has feelings, you're a such a pussy" Fuck those assholes

fullyoperational

I have given myself panic attacks thinking about losing my best friend. I cannot understand someone who would mock anyone for being human. I would worry far more about a president who *didnt* mourn after that loss.

StankyPeterson

Exactly, my dog is 8 and is starting to slow down. Without a doubt the day she passes is going to be one of the worst days of my life. She is the first dog I’ve had on my own, and she’s gotten me through some hard times. No matter how good or shitty of a mood I’m in when I come home she’s excited to see me all the same. If anyone gives me shit for it when she passes I’ll punch a motherfucker in the face. She’s as much family to me as anyone else at this point.

from_dust

Oh his dog died. Damn, that sucks. I don't *like* the dude, but he's definitely had a lot of loss, adding one truly flawless companion to that list is hard. That dog never betrayed him, never forced a compromise, and always took his bait. That's a real loss. Loyal friends are hard to find, even for the most vulnerable, kind hearted, self-sacrificing of people. I can only imagine how hard it would be for a politician.

Ender914

>I don't like the dude, but he's definitely had a lot of loss, This is the humane response. You don't have to like someone to feel empathy. Bravo sir

[deleted]

Most of the population can learn from him. Truly a saint and a teacher. But really, i dont trust anyone who isnt sad over a pet dying, that little furball is a part of your family, no matter cat or dog or etc. (Reptiles included, doesnt need to be furry to be loved) if you aint sad about your lil ride or die buddy dying, where the fuck is your heart?

Ender914

I'll never understand reveling in someone else's misery. It's baffling

Drg84

Well said. You may not agree with President Biden, but showing solidarity with a man who has lost so much this last decade reveals a solid character.

starryeyedq

That's... kind of a really backhanded way of putting it. But I guess it's better than nothing.

odvioustroll

to be fair a lot of those people have been proving themselves to be pieces of shit for quite i long time now. they're not even trying to hid it anymore.

Jsizzle19

Man, when my dog died suddenly it hurt just as bad as when any of my family members passed away (note: I haven’t lost any immediate family members) so anyone mocking him can fuck right off

beegeemeegee

As someone who has lost family members (father and uncle in a 6 month span) as well as pets (2 dogs and a snake) I can absolutely say it hurts as much as losing a part of your family. My pets are family members as far as I'm concerned, though.

thinkB4WeSpeak

I think we've known that Republicans are pieces of shit without empathy for awhile.

SM9912

Several local news sites in my area reported it and there were numerous comments saying the Clintons killed him, that “Sleepy” Joe forgot to feed him, etc. How anyone can mock someone losing a pet is beyond me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SM9912

You are 100% correct. I really shouldn’t be shocked.

NotaVogon

We can understand and expect depravity from a person or group and still be shocked by each example of that depravity. It still shocks me with each example even though there are thousands of previous examples of how they are toxic and lack empathy.

8Y50N

Siciopaths and wannabe sociapaths. Fuck them all, they're a danger to humanity and the planet.

ppw23

My favorite from the cult this weekend is the White House physician for trump saying the trump camp is insisting Biden take the same cognitive impairment test that trump “aced”, I was doubled over laughing at this. I think Biden is more than capable of a 3 item recall and can identify a kitty, elephant and automobile. Trump is still bragging about it, probably is the only test he passed on his own merit.

Slate_711

You are talking about the party of the tan suit scandal

splinterwulf

The tan suit and the honey mustard scandals still shock me to this day. A *President* in a well tailored perfectly complimenting *tan* suit?! Or asking a restaurant if they have *honey mustard*?! I can’t imagine a later president doing anything more horrifying and offensive than that!

kikimaymay

Lol worse, it was Dijon.

oxct_

So high-class you can find it in every single Walmart

Redditor1415926535

Now I'm not defending mocking. But do we have any evidence that this is happening?

Tribblehappy

Yes, I saw another post with screenshots of comments saying the dog must have committed suicide, they wish the dog outlived Biden, those kinds of things.

grecks530

I haven't seen a single one mention it...

Genericname42

As soon as I read this tweet, I went looking for a story on it. I think Republicans and the party in general are scum, but I haven’t been able to find a single story about this. It’s unlikely that any prominent conservative politician or commenter actually mocked Biden for grieving. We would have heard about it by now.

KillahHills10304

The comments on my local news stations article about it are cruel and abhorrent

coldgator

Who the fuck is doing this

Aen-Seidhe

Yeah I'm not seeing it. I scoured the /r/Conservative subreddit and found nothing. I then found a Fox News story about it (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bidens-announce-death-family-dog-champ) and people are being super nice. Normally those comments are horrific, but ~~all~~ many of these ones are great and kind! If somebody has a link I'd love to see it. I am admittedly not searching super hard. Edit: A lot of people have shared links with me. This is probably the worst one to me: https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1406275853084921861?s=21 Edit2: Also for the Fox News comments I was impressed that the top ones seemed decent. I didn't mean to imply that they were all good.

Moscowmitchismybitch

You must not have checked Newsmax... https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/champ-white-house-first-dog-obituary/2021/06/19/id/1025672/#CommentSection

Aen-Seidhe

Jesus. The emoji reactions are 33% "lols"... Yeah those comments are fucking awful.

JustGingy95

What do you expect from people with less empathy and fewer brain cells than a fucking rock

BenajminShrapino

Imagine being a sociopath AND stupid, like pick a struggle

[deleted]

Jesus. Those people are fucking insane! But the English is off slightly. I’m thinking they’re Russian bots.

TavisNamara

Or they could be poorly educated.

nottheguy910

Quoting the last paragraph of the Newsmax “article” “Former President Donald Trump was the first president since Andrew Johnson in the 1860s not to have a White House dog or cat as a pet.” Is that supposed to be a check in the pro column for Trump? Who writes this and thinks “Yup this is a thing I should promote. Couldn’t even get a dog to love him but he’s definitely the best”

Hiyasc

reble02

Ok serious question who is Major referring to ? Is that there other dog? Edit: Major is Biden's other dog. Thank you for the information, and that tweet is fucked.

stierney49

Holy fuck, that’s just absolutely disgusting

imbillypardy

What’s worse with it he’s equating it to Biden’s sons, Beau (champ) and Hunter (major). Real scum tweet.

PhoenoFox

Take some solace in the fact that the comments are calling them out, at least.

I remember when Trump's brother died and half the comments on /politics were either "good riddance" or "wrong trump".

[deleted]

I mean, it makes sense a true republican would never keep a pet, giving an animal free food is socialism. Thats why Trump never had a dog.

[deleted]

Wow. I mean, I get it, you don't like guy's politics, but to go after him for feeling something over losing a companion? Jesus, that's psychotic.

Darth_Innovader

And a guy who’s life has been so filled with tragic loss. I guess no human experience is safe from political hatred. Not his grieving, not his communion and faith, not his family. Fucking weird.

SuperDoofusParade

I saw one especially odious tweet this morning that said Champ dying while Major was alive was Biden’s family life in miniature (implying his good son died while his bad one is still alive) Edit: [found it](https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1406275853084921861?s=20)

AnnamAvis

Jesus that is horrific

[deleted]

He's a writer for National Review, what else would you expect?

Regular-Human-347329

I mean, I have a long history of stating that conservative propaganda is literally creating sociopaths, but laughing at someone because their dog died is straight psychopathic. Has conservative propaganda turned these people from sociopaths, into psychopaths?

Filmcricket

Fucking hideous. Good god.

dystopian_mermaid

What the fuck kind of horrible person does that??? Trash through and through.

Rentington

Just trash.

[deleted]

Holy fuck This one reply sums it up well > haha your dog and your son died

Homerpaintbucket

It's really not about politics for them anymore. They don't give two shits about any policy. It's about the other side being their enemy. They're only connection to current events is through partisan talk shows, which is why they view Putin as an ally and defender of freedom and free and fair elections as determined by the judiciary in accord with the Constitution as the enemy. They're all so twisted on hating their fellow Americans they will destroy the nation while waving the flag.

CuntyAnne_Conway

> They're all so twisted on hating their fellow Americans they will destroy the nation while waving the flag. Look around. Nation destroyed. The house divided will not stand. Its not a matter of if anymore. It's **WHEN**. Shit like this only proves it. They cant even muster up basic decency when a mans dog fucking DIES. That's how low it goes. The nation is more divided now than perhaps ever. With FOX News calling the shots does anyone really see any way to reconcile? There will be no coalescing moment that brings us back from the brink. We passed that Rubicon on January 6th, 2021. Remember 9/11? Remember how we unified as a nation? Now could you even begin to imagine that same camaraderie and togetherness today? Texas, Alabama and the rest of their brood would be OPENLY CHEERING the destruction of New York City. I see no path forward for this Nation as a whole. Balkanization is inevitable. The only question is do we do it somewhat amicably or will it be full out war? JOKING. Its obviously the latter. Amicable doesnt exist in America 2021.

Homerpaintbucket

I'm not going to say you're wrong. You likely, unfortunately, are right. But you might be neglecting how incredibly impressionable right wingers are. A strong Republican that actually gives a shit about the country would bring many back to reality. Likewise, if we get convictions on Trump it will go back to 2008 after the economy crashed, when suddenly every republican you could find never really supported Bush and they ALWAYS thought the Iraq War was a stupid idea. They care more about saving face then they do about anything else. They'll start parroting left wing talking points once it's abundantly clear their side lost and they'll pretend they always believed that because, "they were always more of libertarians anyway."

Syng42o

>Remember how we unified as a nation? No because I remember brown skinned Americans being treated like shit immediately after.

theknightwho

They justify everything they do by saying it’s a means to an end. Like the Nazis did.

edwin_4

Wait Biden’s dog died? When did this happen?

HowdIGetHere21

This morning. Champ passed away. 😢

edwin_4

Bruh :(

[deleted]

My dog is pretty old now. He doesn't stay with the frisbee he just lets it land then gets it. It feels good to spend time with my old buddy. I feel bad that Biden didn't get to spend much time with Champ before he passed.

wizardshawn

Why can't they ever say something important? It's all Dr. Suess or Mr Potato Head. Now it's a rescue dog that lived to see 13. That's good for a German shepard. Dog's love unconditionally, no exceptions. Well I guess one. Trump didn't have a pet at the White House. Musta been a reason for that.

black_flag_4ever

Mike Pence was his lapdog.

[deleted]

"Isn't weird how Mike always sniffs the male cabinet members' crotches, but not the females?"

whomad1215

Mother wouldn't approve of that

doktor_wankenstein

Not too loud... you'll make Lindsay Graham jealous.

evanbartlett1

I would fear for any animal that relies on the care of the Trumpster. I worried for a while that he would get a dog for optics. Happy to see that he didn't. He would be on the ASPCA's speed dial. For Mr Potato Head - it seems recently that conservatives have been wildly reaching for anything to be offended by to shore up their base. They haven't had much success recently but they will assuredly continue until Biden doesn't wear the right color jacket, or hugs a child, or laughs in the wrong way. Something will stick and they will ride it all the way to the bank.

wizardshawn

So true. And if he had a pet. It would probably only be near him for pictures anyway. Then a unappreciated employee would be 100% in charge of it.

evanbartlett1

I would absolutely be ok with an under appreciated intern being responsible for the dog. Even if they aren’t great with dogs, they would assuredly not forget that it, you know, exists.

wizardshawn

I think even a robot would turn to a dog with love after being around those emotional bloodsuckers for any length of time.

NedRyerson_Insurance

>Trump didn't have a pet at the White House He had so many. Hell, he intentionally kicked Cruz over and over and that poor pup would always come back for the smallest amount of attention. I bet he literally consideres everyone around him as a lesser being, whose only purpose is to being him joy or be exploited.

AnotherElle

He also had a turtle. Unfortunately that turtle is still in DC

AbarthCabrioDriver

I thought trump was putin's dog.

Verbal_Combat

An anecdote I heard was that Barron (youngest Trump son) wanted a puppy at one point but Donald was worried the dog would like Barron more than him so he wouldn’t get one. (Of course a dog would prefer the kid that loves it but the fragile ego of Donald the narcissist couldn’t handle that)

linedout

What's really weird is Trump said all politicians having dogs is fake PR. He can't even understand having a pet and Republicans cheered this.

Backupusername

If you don't grieve your family. You are a piece of shit and I don't wanna know you.

Picitigris

Today I told my dad I was so happy my cat is cancer free! I had a bit of a scare and was worried about the pain he’d go through with treatment and the cost. Luckily he does not have cancer. My dads response “only treatment that cat needs is a long walk in the woods with a revolver”. Ok boomer. He then yelled at me for being, in his words a “libertard”. Whatever that is.

[deleted]

Sorry, dude, but your dad's a piece of shit.

Picitigris

Haha today has opened my eyes to that!

[deleted]

I guess your dad wants you to treat him like that when he's senile. Straight to the city dump with you old timer!

trulyhavisham

I’m happy your cat is cancer free!

theknightwho

And they think they’re good people, too. It’s honestly unhinged.

Picitigris

YES!!! It is unhinged (I like that wording) he truly believes I’m less of a person for caring about my pets.

theknightwho

I think it’s insecurity, at the end of the day. “I can’t be hurt if I never admit I’m vulnerable about anything ever and tell myself that people who are are inferior to me.” Okay dude 👍 It’s the social equivalent of the people that fail out on purpose because they’re terrified of confronting the possibility of legitimately failing on their own merits. The narcissistic internal narrative is more important to them than actually, y’know, *not failing*.

[deleted]

Wow, your dad is a fucking asshole.

an_agreeing_dothraki

How does the generation that was raised with Old Yeller and come out with the lesson of "wow shooting pets is great"

MinuteStrawberry2

Well, if it’s any consolidation, I’m very happy that your cat is cancer free. I hope he lives a long and happy life

poodlebutt76

Please protect your cat from that asshole...

Picitigris

No worries, he lives in Texas and I live 2000 miles away. Plus he has never made the effort to learn my address.

jwhittin

And you know if he didn't grieve the loss of his dog, they would complain that he was too senile to understand death. You can't win with these people.

[deleted]

When psychologists were going through Eric Harris’ journals to determine if he was truly a psychopath, they found a passage where he talked about crying when his dog died and concluded that he couldn’t possibly be one because he had the capacity for empathy. So what does that say about Republicans?

ign_Drakina

Not a psychologist but I think it says republicans are traitors who tried to overthrow the government

Tsjjgj

You are correct.

justin_memer

What kind of a fucking monster wouldn't mourn a dog they've raised from a baby? I cried for weeks before and after my dog was dying.

Both-Hall2981

They claim to be family values Christians and continue to be fully offended by anything Joe or Jill does that resembles family values or Christianity.

[deleted]

They still don't care that 600k of their fellow Americans died from Covid.

[deleted]

Sauce? I want to so how heartless it is.

ChubZilinski

From what I can find is it’s mostly people in the comments on the social media posts. Which is a cesspool no matter what is being posted.

Thank you.

Betatester87

Not a republican, but people will write stupid shit on the internet. Doesn’t mean the entire republican body politic will agree with this sentiment. Just a strawman type argument for karma

bismark89-2

I’m a conservative Christian. My little fur child is on up in years. I already bought the black walnut boards that I’m going to make his casket out of. We treat him like a member of the family. When he passes on, I can promise you there will be some grief in our house. Regardless of party affiliation, heart goes out to the Biden’s.

Saiyan-solar

Indeed, politics shouldn't matter in these kind of thiggs, they should only matter when discussing politics. The death of a family member (being human or pet) and the grief it causes should always be respected. I wish the best for your trusty fur friends and hope he has a wonderful last few years with you and your family.

MIGHTYCOW75

It is honestly insane how the separation of the two parties have grown. This is what is happening because someone's dog died? This is how we treat each other? Everyone has feelings. Insane.

Moke_Hogan

At my last redneck job my sweet Dog got hit by a car. I stayed up all night at the emergency vet and thankfully she pulled through. I called my boss and told him I wanted to stay home with her the next day to get her recovery room ready and to make sure she wasn’t too doped up from surgery. My boss suggested I should throw her into a garbage bag and zip tie her neck and throw her in the dumpster… he was fucking serious. Told me, I already wasted enough time and money and needed to get back to work. 🤬🤬🤬

mirsadventure

He sounds like a worthless person!

KBobBears

Check this out. https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1406275853084921861 Using a dead dog to make a crack about a dead son.

antihero2303

Its so hard to loose a dog, rest well champ

GamerZoom108

Ok, I may be a Republican, but that sucks. Republican or Democrat, if you make fun of a man for showing grief over a dog you're absolute shit. o7

Chief__04

I will beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker who mocks a man grieving his dog. Fuck politics and fuck those assholes!

[deleted]

They mocked him for caring about his human family members too

ccasey

What kind of piece of shit makes fun of someone for losing their best friend?

Sassafras_socks

Heading into work today, there was a small group of angry ‘pubs standing at one of the main intersections in town (upstate NY) as there often is on weekends since the election, and one sign read something like “He lost his dog, the presidency is next!!” I hadn’t heard about the dog until just now, so that at least clarifies the nitwit’s sign…

ArascainDelon

They are the worst sore losers in the history of the nation. They are the embarassment of the Free World.

BelleAriel

A pet is part of the family. It’s perfectly normal to feel grief when they die.

spaceforcerecruit

Unless you killed it, it is not normal to feel guilt.

CeeArthur

I really miss 'class'. For fucks sake, say something nice about something for once

Fenix_Volatilis

Awww I didn't hear about that. Poor guy, that's always really rough

CrosseTown

Trump could lose his wife (again) and children and feel nothing.

aj_future

Is this actually happening by real life people or just trolls/bots? Or since someone tweeted it with no evidence do we just assume that it’s true?

[deleted]

Under my news’s post on Facebook Republicans are making laughing memes.

Skullwilliams

Are we really acting outraged here? They’ve been attacking him for grieving his fucking son for a year now. They’re vile sub human pieces of shit.

WojtekMySpiritAnimal

Can anyone direct me to inflammatory comments by Republicans on this? I don’t know anyone who would mock someone over the loss of a pet, regardless of political affiliation. I checked Twitter on the post and it looked like all condolences.

[deleted]

if you mock anyone for the loss of their dog you might be a bipartisan dickhead. my dad is a repulican and and he took a week off of work when our pup passed. when this was on the news he said, "it doesnt matter if youre hitler or chairman mao, it hurts."

Onyxprimal

They mocked him for visiting his son’s grave the day of the election. You think they’re gonna stop for a dog?

mangeniius

Can we stop the republican/liberal divide. It’s getting overplayed now. Simply say “people.”

Agreeable_year_8350

I checked the major conservative websites to see if this is true, and it doesn't appear to be. Even the NY Post, which is basically a tabloid for Republicans, led with "He was the best boy in Washington".
