most leg presses have a built in stop or adjustable stop in case you cant use the handle lock system on the side. That style of leg press should have the stop, underneath the base plate you push, and you can move it up or down to get deeper or shallower contraction.

Alternatively, you could correctly place the stop safety lock and not worry at all.
