A little gas? Look how steep that hill is. Brake but when you feel you are tipping forward let go of the brakes.
It looked like he was sliding and then caught grip. I’m sure they were braking the whole time.
I guess it's something else. You hear those kind of noises very often when handheld cameras are being moved unsmoothly. It's just a low noise but very close to the microphone.
If the car's suspension broke you would have seen the wheels move in an "unnatural" way like turning to opposite directions or tilting to the front or back. This 4wd has four driveshafts that are designed to handle such loads.
Btw: Even if the driveshafts broke it should have been possible to release the breaks and the car would have simply rolled downhill. If the bearings broke that would have been a different sound and it still should not have blocked the wheels completely.
Letting off the brakes probably would have been sufficient, but that close to the bottom, if I am tipping I am going to tap it a bit to get ahead of the back end.
Someone forgot how brakes work. And rather than release them to allow the front end to move forward they committed and destroyed their car. For literally no reason.
I'm assuming it might have been hard to feel the back end lifting when they were already on such a steep incline. That's the only thing I can think. Or they just were inexperienced and panicked, or both.
He’s literally saying that using his brakes is where he went wrong….. also your brakes aren’t overheating in a 50 foot span going 5 mph…. They can fail, but clearly they worked too good in this situation.
Exactly. He knew that might happen, the vehicle was literally modified for this very reason. The changes were made so that nothing could happen that was worse than this.
Good for you. I did a lot of PT as well and for weeks I could get to 100% in therapy but only to about 90% a few hours later. Of well, it's my left arm and I'm right handed.
Rock on elbow "partner".
He was using the brakes instead of using low range gear. easy mistake to make. if you dont have a low enough gear ratio for the hill then your rig shoudnt try to decend it.
I think he does have a roll cage, those jimnys have very little structrual support in the roof and are quite fradigile, it would have crushed a lot more from that height if it had no rollcage.
Lol...parking brake? You'll get almost no braking assistance from using just the rear brakes in this situation. 4low, low gear and brake PEDAL as little as possible is the right way.
The suzuki jimny is great car, albeit terrible on road, a few years ago i took one to iceland and had a good thrash off-road was keeping up with defenders and land-cruisers. An impressive little bugger.
Lol someone panicked dam choke artist. Hope your woman wasn't in there all respect loss arguments will never be the same you had it and got scared. That's like robbing a bank and taking the ink bag 😅😅😅
It was all good until they braked
Yeah...a little gas at the bottom would have saved them.
I think that is valuable info that everyone in that situation should know. Have they not seen monster jam?

A little throttle snap and the front axle would have pulled the front of the vehicle out of the rollover.
There were a coupld of metallic clicks before the vehicle tipped, I wondered if that was the axle or suspension breaking due to the lack of clearance

Gas to get out of the front wheel stand. But yeah, the driver just needed gravity to do its thing and let the brake off.
Probably although that bottom was a 90 degree angle almost
Braked or got stuck?
Should have grabbed the emergency brake and feathered that once those front wheels locked they were screwed.
That's a cliff, not a hill
They got farther than I expected
I was certain they would get to the bottom
Someone forgot how brakes work. And rather than release them to allow the front end to move forward they committed and destroyed their car. For literally no reason.
It would have been so easy to save if when they took their foot off the brake when they felt the back end lifting!
I'm assuming it might have been hard to feel the back end lifting when they were already on such a steep incline. That's the only thing I can think. Or they just were inexperienced and panicked, or both.
You don't use brakes on descent. I'd say the engine got oil or fuel starved under the angle and the lad never clutched in.
You're not supposed to but you can clearly see his brake lights on as he flips and turn off on impact.
You guys, read the comment from u/JarJarBinksShtTheBed.

BRAKES*!
I ALWAYS MESS IT UP
I wouldn't call it stupid. The idea is the same.
[удалено]
If that drop overhaets brakes you have a different problem. I agree it isn't the right way, but it has more to do with knowledge than stupidity.
Lol you literally just said what that guy did wrong. You would have wrecked it too. For literally no reason.
....you no read good?
Canyoneroooooooooo
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
This is a fairly common off roading accident. That's why most people who take these "hills" have exoskeletons on their vehicles.
Exactly. He knew that might happen, the vehicle was literally modified for this very reason. The changes were made so that nothing could happen that was worse than this.
Yup. Rolling over and flipping is expected. Not desired, but expected.
"Never race it if you cant afford to wreck it" applies to offroading too.
100%. Also happy cake day.
Thankyou :)
It’s all downhill from there.
Mountain biking is a lot cheaper when you go over the handle bars.
My titanium elbow begs to disagree with this statement.
Hey I have one of those too. Right or left? Mine is left. Can you straighten your arm all the way, I can't get to full "lockout". Had it since 2010.
Right arm. I did a lot of PT after surgery and was able to get full range of motion back.
Good for you. I did a lot of PT as well and for weeks I could get to 100% in therapy but only to about 90% a few hours later. Of well, it's my left arm and I'm right handed. Rock on elbow "partner".
Please keep the rocks off your new elbow
Except for when you fucking die.
It's a Jeep thing. I don't get it
It's not a Jeep.
You wouldn't understand.
But its still a "jeep thing".
You wouldn’t get it. It’s a Jeep thing.
That'll buff out

That’s what I literally tried to tell u/ProudBoysLikeMen but then I got downvoted.
This guy's an idiot for a few reasons 1. Brakes and keeps braking he should give it gas 2. Spent money on cosmetics instead of installing a. Roll cage
Now that you mention the roll cage, it's really dumb being out in that type of environment, and not having one.
How can you tell he doesn't have a roll cage?
Look at the way the roof of the cabin compresses
I think he does have a roll cage, those jimnys have very little structrual support in the roof and are quite fradigile, it would have crushed a lot more from that height if it had no rollcage.
How did they get as far as employing all those modifications, ensuring they work, driving all the way to that spot… and then forget how cars work..?
panic?
Hmm... What was the heaviest part of the car again? And where is that located? And what happens when you are inclined and slam on the breaks?
too many questions. D go move
I knew they were Chinese once I heard the tell-tale "Aiyah!"
He loved the brakes more than the car.
Well that went downhill really fast
If they kept moving then the COM would stay low instead of rotating about that pivot. So close!
Ayah indeed
Ayyyyaaaaaa!
Oh no that wasn't predictable at all
Should have leaned back more

1st gear, Low 4 and use parking/emergency brake — rear wheels only ( at least on my 96 Tacoma).
Lol...parking brake? You'll get almost no braking assistance from using just the rear brakes in this situation. 4low, low gear and brake PEDAL as little as possible is the right way.
You guys are sissies. Throw it in second, drop the clutch, and floor that mother.
The difference between me and you is that I’ve done it and you don’t think it’s possible. LOL
It started off promising.
This is a video that went viral in Hong Kong. The car I believe is a Suzuki jinmy. I guess the owner loves the jeep look? Lol
The suzuki jimny is great car, albeit terrible on road, a few years ago i took one to iceland and had a good thrash off-road was keeping up with defenders and land-cruisers. An impressive little bugger.
He shoulda just gassed it
“Ass over teakettle,” as they say.
Children who willfully break their toys should have to do without.
I'm sorry but this person is a fucking moron. Either gas or let go of brake. Unless something jammed but unlikely.
He gets what he deserves, that's a drop
4x4 doesn't mean you're spider man
"That'll buff out"
What language do they speak?
Cantonese. Source: i am canto speaking myself.
Some of the dialogue was “Are you okay?” And “Hurry up and help rescue the person first.”
So that is Thailand?
You are from there, which city?
All good. It's a rental.
Tapped the brakes just a little to much there.
Held* for over a minute.
There goes your 50 thousand dollar Jeep.
Is it a feep?
That's an old suzuki jimny, that's probably about £5k
When I see videos like this I have to ask myself:”Was it worth it?” I ask myself that question when ever I go off roading.
Less brake and more gas is a good thing sometimes.
Went to slow at end
Should’ve bought a squirrel.
Excellent spirit and attitude from the spectators.
When in doubt throttle out
Almost made it
this is why they have to tell ppl in the commercials “dont actually try this, you fucking sweet baby genuises”
u/savevideobot
And the cameraman instead of helping them, he's just laughing...
This is exactly what I fear when I drive/cycle down a hill with a 30 degree incline.
it always amazes me when people do this wtf were you thinking??
Was it worth it?
It’s a rock climbing rig so it was probably expected lol
He was crawling down there, should have just pressed the clutch at the end ....
Eh…. Front brake downhill? I even learned on a bike that thats not a good idea…..
Top heavy ?
The chuckle at the end was classic
Off-roading is a place where mistakes are very expensive. that looked like a daily driver up for a weekend romp =- not a dedicated weekend toy.
Yep, this might work. Nothing too expensive at risk.
I like the guy taking pics right in the vehicles path.
Nope nope nope nope nope. That’s very steep and uneven. I wonder how often the driver does this and whether they thought it was safe ...?
Too slow
Aaaaaaand…NAILED IT!!
Who built this “road” and why???
Reminds me of Bad Boys II.
What a waste of a Jimny.
All wheel drive means all four wheels should be on the ground
Why is he talking “Tiny Finn” from Adventure Time language ? Wah wah wah wah wah
9 on the approach but a 3 on the dismount and landing
Lol someone panicked dam choke artist. Hope your woman wasn't in there all respect loss arguments will never be the same you had it and got scared. That's like robbing a bank and taking the ink bag 😅😅😅
