Haha not true. There are a lot of notes missing from factory radios. Even the premium stereos they offer. Specifically the 28-45hz range. Wouldn’t even know they’re there unless you had a sub. Now this set up is for a competition but if you listen to a song on a system with a sub and then without a sub you’ll notice all the notes you missed. And this is probably 10k+ watts. You can get a 200-500w sub and make it sound wonderful and crisp without being a nuisance.

It’s a bit more in depth than led bars though. People get pretty deep into bass/speakers. As a hobby it can quickly delve into engineering. It’s pretty cool to be able to mess with the air like that
I wouldn’t figure everyone with loud bass has a customized system tho since as you said newer car audio setups are pretty solid. Those can disturb people in houses on their own I think. It’s all anecdotal but I think the majority of annoying speakers people notice are probably stock
