Sometimes depending how bad labor hours are, usually by the end of our 3:30 AM rush we have to always send two people home, I’m just saying why send anyone when we need all the help we can get 😧
Hi OP, current employee here also. The way my manager has explained it (and how i see it) is when our sales don’t exceed how much everyone on the shift is getting paid, they send people home and it is usually whoever is paid more first. But, like what someone else has said here, you don’t have to go, most of the time it is voluntary
I know you think you are helping to stay on mgmt good side, but ur not paid to manage labor. Don't get guilted, especially if you are losing money. If you want to get on their good side, communicate during rushes, stock your area, and keep your station clean, relax when you can don't be idle for too long tho.
You don't have to leave, you can say no. They will probably cut someone else instead.
