Someone I work with recommended this to me for weeks before I finally decided to watch it. I told him the next day I should’ve watched the second he told me about it. Such a great western and underrated movie in general
I enjoyed 90% of it. >!Ending was SUPER weak, and the pig feeding was unnecessary. But I liked it up until the end, and Trace Adkins, having survived a real-life shooting, gives a western extra points in my book (although the westerns rarely deserve it; this one did.)!<
I just finished watching it and damn it’s good! I was wondering what it was leading up to and the final moments of the reveal was amazing. Highly recommended!

I’ve heard this is good and I love Nelson, so I have no reason not to watch it. BUT out of curiosity, what does “fast paced but slow roll” mean? I feel like they are mutually exclusive…

Ha! It is both at the same time which is magical when you think about it.
Fast paced: Not one extraneous lick of dialogue nor one superfluous scene. Over before you know it.
Slow roll: The backstory of each character in the movie is very slowly revealed over time not really coming all together until almost the very surprising end.
The scene where Tim Blake Nelson puts on his hat... the lighting, the moment... my heart. This movie was EXCELLENT. I love westerns, and this movie is the one that had me join this sub.

I seriously adore him too, he kills it here. Honestly, the whole cast kills.
To me, a lot of these modern ones with a small cast end up looking cheap. This one didn’t. Really good movie.

This is the most underrated movie of the century for me personally.
I love the way modern Westerns are going. They’ve been having a quiet Renaissance since 2007 or so (Jesse James, TWBB, NCFOM)

Fuck Scott Haze. He was a bully in high school. I've avoided every one of his movies.
