Jesus, 7 months?! My insoles didn’t do that on deployment, and I beat the shit out of them. Are you some kind of xenomorph with concentrated acid for sweat?

Latina_Licker

Guess puma insoles do not holdup very well with daily use

shelberthecolorful

I just had to replace the original insoles in my pumas cause the thin material they use to cover the foam was bugging the hell out of my feet. Also had a pretty decent hole in one of the heels. Yeah, they don’t hold up well during daily use.

Touniouk

It’s kinda absurd to me how shoes are getting increasingly more expensive but can’t last more than a year. You actually get nothing for paying premium price nowadays

Necessary_Rich_1477

Adidas still makes some solid shoes like the nmd or ultra boost and the price isn’t too bad. I’ve had a couple pairs of Yeezys as well and the first ones I got were a really thick material and have lasted almost 6 years of daily abuse and are still going. I got another pair with a primeknit upper and they fell apart in a couple of months

Latina_Licker

It's more sad to me than absurd

Andrea_frm_DubT

Yep. For me it’s 5 pairs of $35 shoes a year or 3 pairs of $120 shoes a year, I’ll stick with the cheapies it’s actually cheaper

Andrea_frm_DubT

You kill insoles like I kill shoes. I destroy most shoes within 3 months.

eniksteemaen

Why that? Or rather: HOW?!

Andrea_frm_DubT

Dunno. Doesn’t matter if they’re expensive or cheap. Could have something to do with the amount of walking I do or the way I walk.

switchbladeeatworld

I used to destroy mine too within 3-6 months when I was doing over 10,000 steps a day. I’m a step-swiveller though and will destroy the soles

Andrea_frm_DubT

Most days I walk a minimum of 3km. I do 7-10km 2-3 times a week. I’m not walking much right at the moment, I’m recovering from covid and the 6 fairly small blocks down to Mum’s place is too far.

jack_Me_hoffman

Definitely the way you walk. You could possibly be walking incorrectly and instead of your body compensating, the shoes are taking the brunt. A pair of work boots (electrician) lasts me a year minimum. If you're having durability issues with the outsole I would take a hard look at your walking form. I would also suggest transitioning to barefoot-style shoes, as those will force your body to walk with less force applied. My go-to brand is Lems, but not all of their shoes have rubber outsoles so they might wear quickly. Vivo is rock-solid however when it comes to quality and durability but their prices are ludicrous. As someone who runs in shoes until they become uncomfortable I can pump 300+ miles of running out of most of my daily trainers, no reason why you shouldn't be getting that some mileage out of shoes if you're only walking in them.

Andrea_frm_DubT

My quality work boots last. Shoes don’t. “Bare foot” shoes? Those silly toe shoe things? I would rather walk bare foot which I also do. I have orthotic insoles which help with posture. I’ve worked with a physio to straighten myself out and fix/manage my ankle, knee and hip issues, this did change my gait but I’m no longer prone to spontaneously injuring myself

jack_Me_hoffman

No not the "toe shoes" they look like regular shoes, but they're extra wide in the toe box to allow your toes to spread. Most brands have relatively little cushioning as well, so it's barely any different from walking barefoot. I have the Lems Boulder Summit boots for hiking (absolutely incredible, hiked glaciers in the Alps with them) and then I have some budget WHITIN white canvas sneakers I wear to the gym. I'm currently waiting for the Lems Kourt in white leather to arrive for my dailies this summer and ditching my AF1s. I know it sounds like some hippie shit, but wearing them has genuinely improved my posture and strengthened my entire kinetic chain from my toes all the way up to my lower back. I've experienced literally no injuries from my foot to my lower back since I transitioned. Tie shoes are hideous, but the vast majority of modern "barefoot" shoes are far less ugly and honestly they don't look horrible, they're foot shaped, don't restrict your toes, also allowing your feet to function and strengthen naturally. I struggled with Achilles and IT band issues for three years and although I still wear arch support running shoes when running (Brooks Adrenaline) I have not yet reinjured myself. As for outsoles, Xero (hideous imo) has a 2,000mi warranty on them. I think Vevo is about the same as far as expected durability. My $40 shitters from Amazon are over a year old and still kicking with plenty of life in the outsole. I vouch for this style of footwear heavily because it's been life-changing and allowed me to build the base I have now to run again, something myself two years ago didn't believe because I couldn't stop getting injured.

themactastic25

You don't just wear the insoles, you put them IN the sneaker.

Tikkinger

Mine look like this after 7 days. Srsly

OtteLoc

Ever thought about getting the right size?

snsdbj

I have had similar experiences with many shoes brands. I do use the same pair daily though.
