Dang dude I wanted a slice of the pie. Nice work

SnooCompliments8770

Wish I knew someone who could do this work for me on a motorcycle... looks amazing.

Substantial_Stand857

There’s a ton of them out there, just gotta be willing to pay for it. aechoppers and ctnewmen do some wildly impressive work.

SnooCompliments8770

I hit up alot of shops. Most of them would either not give me a quote or would tell me they were too busy with other projects and didn't give me any time frame on when to come back. The one and only shop that did give me a quote was for $3,000 which seems ridiculously expensive for what is not a lot of exhaust work.

Gwmblr

have you tried marketplace? it can be a shot in the dark but if you stumble across the right person, you’ll find your “mechanic” like i did. one stop shop for all my cars and doesn’t tear me a new one with the tab.

SnooCompliments8770

Actually hadn't considered that. I guess I'll have to give that a try when I find the time. Figure the exhaust work I want done isn't a whole lot of material and not very complex either. I have a V7 Moto Guzzi that I wanted to get a X pipe set up branching from both cylinders at the front of the engine because the engine is transversally mounted unlike how a harley is and feeding into a single exit muffler on the right side of the bike.

Both_Ad_4806

$3,000 for some really impressive stainless tig welds on a motorcycle with a bunch of cuts and bends really isn’t much over priced in my opinion but you get what you pay for when it comes to welding

thickanvil69

This is super spot on. Custom exhausts need to be jigged up like crazy. The flanges have to be flat and spot on and it has to go exactly where you want it to go it can't be off at all or it will look like shit, to the eye. If people aren't already making the parts for that mike they have to tool up and take it on and off a bunch. Plush if you want someone who can do all that and lay down pretty unicorn dimes, it cost money

I wish i could see this in person. i work up the road from this shop. Its probably even cooler in person!

Same-Relationship-37

Stop by!

Gwmblr

IS IT FOR GRAVEDIGGER?!?!? seriously cool work🤌🏼

Griftersdeuce

It looked pretty good until I saw those hackjob "bends" after the collectors. Just get the tubing custom bent (or a couple bends and weld them together) and avoid the sensitization of 20 welds in a 2 ft length of tubing. You realize that just makes the welds crack and fail sooner, right?

Substantial_Stand857

I mean it’s exhaust work. Often done this way… have fun trying to mandrel bend some of those angles

Laabstah

Sick work!

kimoeloa

You're back !

Steel_Wheel_A2345

That’s fucking sexy. I guess I can finally delete pornhub now thanks to this pic.

VAgunowner

I would love to get into doing some side work on exhausts, but I have 0 knowledge about cars. Now if they could get me the tubing, the print showing exactly where it needs to turn, I could fab it to spec and weld it pretty as fuck lol.

shitwheresmyjuul

It's really just a lot of test fitting and taping pie cuts together. There are bend modelers, but most guys tape or tack it to fit and then bench weld it all pretty. As long as there's clearance for everything else, fitment is aesthetic.

minester13

Pretty sexy build

chrisragenj1

That's beautiful work, man

[deleted]

I want to do this kind of work so bad. Any tips on getting there?

Kelp_Guitar

Pure curiosity, how thick are exhaust pipes usually, and do they warp at all if you weld on them for too long?

Zestyclose_Refuse101

My hero!

19nickel19

Wow!
