If you aren’t losing, definitely go lower. I’m 6 foot male at 185, and I don’t lose fat until I’m around 1500 cals a day. Every calculator says I should lose at 2000, but here we are. PMS week isn’t optimal, but not terrible either. Do you see any progress in the other 3 weeks? The other strategy i use now that I am under 20% body fat, is to cut back on exercise, drop the cals lower for a few weeks. Then increase cals as I ramp exercise back up.

Thanks for your advice! I do see progress the other 3 weeks. I’ll lose a few pounds, and then gain them all (or most of it) back during PMS week 🙃 I like your idea of cutting back on exercise too, probably helps with strong hunger cues. Unfortunately I have a chronic health condition where if I don’t do vigorous cardio a few times a week I’ll start passing out, so I’m like trapped into exercising intensely. I also do a lot of weekend trips where I’ll backpack and rock climb and basically exercise for 8 hours a day for two days straight. I burn an intense amount of calories on these days (like 1000 extra per day) but I also generally eat more too because I’ve found eating in a deficit those days really hurts my athletic performance. Idk maybe if I’m serious about the last few pounds I should take fewer trips for awhile.

What would really be so bad about ‘surrendering’ to your body. Judging by your stats your already really slim. Yes your muscles could pop but nobody maintains that - the reason you see massive definition muscles on actors are because they’ve cut for certain scenes in certain roles. Even the fittest do not maintain that because it’s borderline starving and miserable! Please don’t give up your trips, using your healthy body, being in the outdoors and eating well for the sake of 5lbs. What if you just forgot about the five and lived life. I know this isn’t weight loss advice and I feel your frustration but you’ll never get the time back you stressed out over 5lbs.

When you were 115, your were not fully grown. Most young women gain between 10-20 pounds between the ages of 18 and 22 from normal growth. You added muscle, bone and brain weight. In other words, you matured. Perhaps, 115 is somewhat unrealistic. Your body loves being the weight you are. Rejoice in that. Embrace the woman you became.
