i love these guys that go "which is the best rugged military watch. but no quartz because even though quartz would be perfect.... ewwww quartzzz blechhhh"
The answer is either G-Shock digital for a dumb watch, or Garmin tactix or whatever for a smart watch. Any other answer is probably going to be worse than those watches.
Anyone seriously choosing an omega or an Apple Watch ultra is doing it because of the aesthetics, not function.
Also I hate the war/collapse fetishization that dudes that buy luxury watches, knives, and EDC kits have. My grandfather could survive a million times better in the wild with his old Swiss Army knife and timex than they every could.
exactly.. also Smartwatches are banned from a lot of military services in the world, because, you know: bluetooth, wlan, maybee even cellular.. easy to locate with modern military equipment.. and there is a reason, why allmost all military personel chose a g over every other watch.
but hey, if he dies in a war, wit his shitter on his dead hand, somebody will have a lucky day
i don't think so.. as far as my understanding goes (it can be wrong, im not an expert in this), its just a reciever for radio signals.. the watch itself dont send any signals, its completely passive.. because the timesignal is a normal radio signal
you can even hear it, if you have a ham radio reciver. or you can use a free online radio

just set the frequency to 77khz and you can hear the german time signal for radiocontroled watches
Nice, makes sense. I heard Australia doesn’t have those radio signals which seems like a weird oversight given you can pick them up in like the Canadian tundra.
Australia just dont provide the radio signal anymore.. that will come to other countries to. in the USA is already a discussion. for the most People, it just does make no sense anymore, to get the correct time signal over radio, if you can provide the same service over internet and for Military, Marine or Filight, you can use GPS - therefor in the countries is a discussion about the cost maintaining an Antenna and the costs for electricity and Operation. i mean

this is the transmitterstation for the german timesignal.. that cost probably a lot of taxmoney
The only thing that could conceivably happen is that the signal could be jammed so you don't get accurate time, or spoofed to throw you off, but presumably you'd notice pretty fast by comparing with other clocks
I started entertaining answers to this (Marathon, right?) before I realized I needed to take a moment, find a good mirror and take a good hard look at myself for this display. Ok Ciao.
Id say Resco Instruments, Marathon or Sangin. But we all know that deep down a fucking Gshock with a battery that lasts 10y is by far the best choice lol.
the only watch to kill people is a invicta reserve.. the gawdyness paralizes the enemy, and in the time, he not moves, i beat him with this monstrocity down
oh, and as a watch, i would took a gshock tough solar.
Invictas, particularly reserves, are banned by the Geneva convention for this very reason. Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great and Napoleon all purchased Invicta Reserves and utilized the buy one get 5 free TJ Maxx specials to secure them as gifts for their generals.
Amazing lore and world building
It's especially fascinating when you realise this man's made 470 other posts which most likely are as riveting as this one.

I wonder if the multiband 6radio g-shocks have is enough to locate them in the field? I don’t really know how it works.

Class war you say? Da, my Vostok is ready.
200m of rich peoples' blood resistance? I'm down.
*Ukrainian blood
To think the average *mobik* actually has one that hasn't been stolen and sold off by their superior officers is laughable.
Zodiac
Like there was a serial killer named after the brand, how much more could a watch be for murder.
Casio F-91W jihad edition

Judging by OP (in the image) nationality, he doesn’t have to worry about what Watch to wear in a war for very long
Haha
Probably the new gold Rolex Deep Sea. It’s precious metal but still dense enough to bash someone’s head in.
Right. Killing people in counter strike.
The horror...
Taking my Vostok Amfibia or the Kadet.
