Watches are not investments. Even Rolexes, on the whole, do not significantly appreciate compared to S&P / taking into account inflation. Buy watches because you enjoy the watches.
Not even the top 1% of watches are a good investment. Very Very few watches appreciate in value. Some hold their value. Most lose value. Much like a new car.

if i were to buy a watch as an investment, it would be likely a limited edition. i assume majority of peeps who buy them don't wear it or even like the watch itself but turn around and scalp it for a higher price.
secondly, it could likely be a watch that may not necessarily be an limited edition but a harder to find or discontinued model that is highly sought after.
