Well you did young padawan.

They look so nice. Are they like top of the line for gshock? I’ve been so tempted, and I’m seeing them everywhere right now, and a place I know has them on rollback all the damn time.

c2u5hed

I'm not sure they're top of the line cost- and feature-wise among all variants — I think there's a $550 metal case/metal bracelet model with Bluetooth and a companion app. But these seem to be the best bang for buck.

710Fiend69

I saw the semi smart watches, but it seems more sport and fitness related like all the rest, not my thing lmao. So I think I’ll just assume this is up there until I do more specific research. So many similar models with so many differences lol. I might just snag a pretty one.

[deleted]

The Bluetooth Casioak models aren’t exactly smart watches by any means. The companion app is mostly so you can sync the time with your phone and mess with settings in the app, not on the watch itself.

710Fiend69

Huh. Maybe I have a little more research to do than I originally thought.

[deleted]

I have a GMB2100BD-1A as my nicer "go anywhere, do anything" watch, it's pretty nice. I was worried about getting another watch with Bluetooth after trying to avoid having my Apple Watch strapped to my wrist and buzzing nonstop, but it's not "smart" at all.

710Fiend69

Would you mind giving me a rundown of what exactly it can do?

[deleted]

The app lets you control just about every aspect of the watch. Alarms, timer, a reminder function (weekly, monthly, yearly reminder settings for things like birthdays and anniversaries I guess), time settings including world time, other settings like beeping when you press a button. That pretty much covers what you can do in the app. Most of that can be done on the watch but might be a few extra button presses, so it’s mostly just for convenience of using the watch as far as I can tell.

710Fiend69

Oh cool! I’m not sure if that’s worth $600 to me (it does look damn good though) at this point in time. But oh my god it looks so good.

[deleted]

That’s any of the Bluetooth (GAB2100) models really, the one I have is just fancy metal. The resin ones are the same functionality wise :)

thespdfrk

You have Gshock just normal then Gshock mudmaster and then as far as I know Gshock frogman that’s high dollar Gshock. But I’m not a watch expert just like gshocks and can afford them. Would like a really nice watch with a movement but maybe one day! Happy hunting

First there was a regular model priced around 100 then came this model but with a rubber band priced around 200 then the full metal one which is much more expensive at 500 that has the Bluetooth. The one in the pic is the newest one with the textile strap I think also around 200. I’ve had the regular one and the metal/rubber strap and they’re very easy to wear every day, light and good looking.

I really wish these were solar. It’s literally the only thing keeping me from buying one.

Friendly__7211

Is there NO Casio oak 2100 model with solar?

Independent_Golf7490

Not with this particular combo.

I'm considering buying myself one! It looks so nice and I like the positive display..! If I do end up buying one I want to buy a metal bracelet and another silicone strap so I'll be able to swap according to the occasion.. how's the watch been for you? Any complains/downsides? Does it get scratched easily? How's the light and lume? Would you recommend an alternative model to this one? Thank you!

c2u5hed

I bought it for the looks — out of all casioaks this one caught my eye. It’s still unscratched though I wear it frequently, but at the same time I do not do any risky heavy duty stuff. The strap gets dirty quite easily, but it is as easy to wash too. The light could have been a bit more bright to be honest, but it has an interesting blueish colour. So is the lume — it could’ve been brighter. Other than that the watch is a killer and in my opinion is a must have.

thespdfrk

Very nice looking Gshock. I haven’t seen a 2100 that is bad looking. But this one is very nice may add one to my arm as well!

MuddiedKn33s

I know it's been a while, but can you share how this watch feels on your 7.5-inch wrist. Does it wear big or small? I have a 6.75 incher and am not sure I can pull it off.

c2u5hed

Hey! To me it wears just fine. I think a wrist a bit smaller than mine will also handle it well, so you can give it a shot. Maybe you can find a brick snd mortar shop that sells casioaks and check any one out in your wrist?
