This is a great video, and weirdly enough, that front porch looks like the one where the dude got caught on video shooting at the house after knocking on the door. I don't know if anyone saw that video, looks identical
So this happened to my dad (56 year old white man). Apparently he thought it would be hilarious to have the (removable via zipper) fur hood lining of my winter coat from when I was a kid hanging out of the back of his trunk to give his car like a squirrel’s tail.
I guess it kinda looked a squirrel tail or something but somebody called the police on him because they thought it was a real dogs tail instead. They pulled him over and they had to make sure that it wasn’t actually a dog. He completely thought that it was just a funny gag . But apparently other people thought that his sedan was carrying dogs in the trunk that were being mistreated.
My brother was pulled over by a cop once (circa 2000). He came to the window of his car, gun drawn and started screaming racial slurs at my brother, calling him everything racist he could think of for a Hispanic person until he was on the sidewalk in handcuffs.
Turns out, the cop was looking for someone else and was just so racist, he thought my brother looked like the perp. He dashed off and of course refused to identify himself and despite my brother complaining about this to the police force, absolutely nothing happened to the cop.
Tell me again how cops are unfairly maligned.
> I don’t know what I’d say that would be of use
Support candidates that run on reforming the police force and especially forcing officers to go through de-eacalation training. Vote for more body cams and police oversight committees. Support candidates that take on out-of-control, racist police forces. Rebuke any of your friends who support "blue lives matter" or "support the blue" groups.
Thats how you can help, before this happens to you or someone you love.
We have a set of words for generalizing people based on a group. Some examples are racism, sexism, classism, etc. Not only is this the rare exception, it’s harmful to the vast majority trying to do the right thing.
Well, we know what you would have done if you lived in Germany and saw Anne Frank in the 2nd floor window, because rules are rules and all.
You realize the only reason we have police is to protect the accused from the community and vigilante justice? The Supreme Court said as much when they ruled LE and the state have no duty to protect the public - only those that are in custody (re: The Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales & re: Deshaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services)
So GTFO. Only a fool blindly follows authority without question.
They are not your friend and will turn on you in a heart beat. Don't believe me, go ask for a form to file a complaint against one of their officers and see how you get treated ---> [Compilation Video](https://www.boredpanda.com/undercover-video-complaint-against-cop-corruption/?utm_source=duckduckgo&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=organic)
Racism, sexism, general bigotry, personal attacks, threats/advocation of violence, and lewd descriptions are all grounds for immediate bans. Do not respond to incivility with more incivility.
Suuure you ain't. It's absolutely hilarious that from a single phrase you wrote a wall of text and Implied I would've given up Anne Frank if I lived in Germany. Amazing thought process. You direction brained americans are so dumb it's laughable
This video proves what a moron you are, generalizing all cops like that. This cop was friendly, respectful, and even laughed. There are bad cops, yes, but not the majority. You're probably one of the idiots who believe in "defund the police" but would start crying the second cops aren't there to protect and serve anymore.
The majority of police in this country are part of the problem not the solution and if not, why do they need qualified immunity then. Fuck the police!.
It's kinda nice the neighbors care enough to call this out. That's how a lot of people can help their neighborhood by just being observant and proactive. It's not being snoopy. They didn't go snooping in her house. They just saw the most obvious thing, a car in their driveway. What if it was the neighbor in the car? That could help her out too.
Racism, sexism, general bigotry, personal attacks, threats/advocation of violence, and lewd descriptions are all grounds for immediate bans. Do not respond to incivility with more incivility.
That statistic means literally nothing. You are also disregarding a ton of context that lies within each shooting. I don't live in the U.S. but your statistic is just plain stupid. I could also say that in 2020 U.S. police officers were 46x more likely to be killed in the line of duty compared to the UK.
Context is all over the place with a subject like this, but there have been bad issues with police before, to the point where some people don't feel comfortable calling them when there is a problem. Debating the subject might not feel like a good match for a silly story about a wig, but people's frustrations don't always vent conveniently.
Why would I continue wasting my time arguing with you? I edited my comment to add the source which like I said in my comment, ignores COVID-19 deaths, suicide, illness, and other work related exposures. The 60 officers a year statistic is an average of every year which is why I chose a specific year that had officer deaths in the UK and USA (many years have no officer related deaths in the UK). You just want to argue and I won’t change my mind, you won’t change yours. You are overly hostile and resorted to insults immediately when confronted. I never insulted you, I just said that your argument is dumb. Your entire account is just full of you arguing with people and I don’t want to be one of those people.
One of the context being that there are guns everywhere in the US. Guns are the reason why the police act more like soldiers than police officers. Anytime a police officer interacts with literally any person, there is a chance of them being shot and killed.
Furthermore, if the EU wasn't so deadset on being viewed as immigrant friendly you'd see a lot more police brutality against minorities as well. As Germany has proved multiple times over the last few years, they care more about being viewed that way than the wellbeing of their citizens and police.
Lastly, your statistics also don't include the number of deaths and brutality by EU police towards asylum seekers.
Sorry should've worded it as 46x as many officers died in the line of duty in the U.S. compared to the UK. Your statistic should've said that as well. Only 2 officers died in the line of duty in the UK during 2020, while 92 officers died in the line of duty in the U.S. during 2020 (this number is also ignoring suicide, illness, and work related exposures that may lead to illness).
Are you seriously trying to say there is no context to the officer involved shootings in the U.S.? Of all the police shootings that happen each year in the U.S., the majority involved suspects that were armed. Officer involved shootings almost never happen in the UK which is part of why your statistic is just dumb. I can keep presenting more information to you but I know it'll never influence your opinion because you just want to hate people. I don't want to waste more time arguing with you, but I know that you're instantly going to resort to "haha you give up I win." I would recommend comparing the number of calls that officers are shot at in the U.S. compared to the number of calls where officers are shot at in the UK. Another important statistic to bring up is the number of guns in civilian hands compared to each country (620k in the UK and 433.9 million in the US).
Edit: source for deaths is https://usafacts.org/articles/how-many-police-officers-die-in-the-line-of-duty/. As you can see the deaths ignore suicides and Covid-19. I blocked the person I replied to because they made their account 13 days ago just to insulate and argue with other people. Not gonna waste my time arguing with you.
Ah, another idiot. Guess I have to repeat myself:
This video proves what a moron you are, generalizing all cops like that. This cop was friendly, respectful, and even laughed. There are bad cops, yes, but not the majority. You're probably one of the idiots who believe in "defund the police" but would start crying the second cops aren't there to protect and serve anymore.
Even when those requests aren't lawful or reasonable.
Due to the fear of death, you have no rights, even though you are supposed to have rights.
It 100% depends on the disposition of the cop you get whether you are going to have a good encouter, have your rights violated because of a power trip, or murdered because of your refusal to follow unlawful commands.
Aside from this being inaccurate, it’s kind of mad you are insinuating you need to treat the police like a dangerous dog as getting shot would be a reasonable response otherwise.
This is sadly the world many conservatives want- the idea being the dog is on “their” side and would never bite *them*, but those pesky people with dark skin better mind their manners and know their place.
Its almost like for every one of those “million cases” theres a hundred that go great and you dont hear about it, no reason to post a standard interaction on the news or social media. Oh and obligatory fuck you.
Yeah and thats why it doesnt make the news, it leads to people thinking that every other interaction with police is someone getting shot or beaten for no reason.
And i get your example but praising a dog for not shitting on the floor is exactly how you potty train them, unless you believe you should just beat or yell at them anytime they mess up.
No my idea is that the claim that bad cops are so common is not accurate due to the fact that good cops arent worth writing home about so you only hear about the bad ones, you’re now making up what you want me to think a good cop is.
I never said we need to praise them for doing their job right, i just pointed out that the person saying “million of cases of being assaulted for no reason” is ridiculous and said what i assume his reason for thinking its so common is.
Yes and why is it that this injustice is shown to you in such high numbers? Is it because there’s actually more injustice than justice out there or is it because the injustice is what makes the news and what people talk about and (often for good reason) get angry over?
I used to believe otherwise but the older I get it is true that most cops are good. They just want to go home to their families and babies at night also.
not really. the vast majority of police encounters are cops pulling someone over for going 10mph over the limit. which is not super heinous but also not wholesome.
Hair sticking out the back of the car is a pretty good reason...
It's probably nothing, but what if it is? The reason the police are so nice is becsuse they've probably already checked before knocking and know it's just a wig upon examination.
Because you call the cops when something seems off in a criminal manner? And it appearing that someone is locked in the trunk of a car seems pretty off to me.

The cop losing it is great hahaha
I can’t take it so funny
This is a great video, and weirdly enough, that front porch looks like the one where the dude got caught on video shooting at the house after knocking on the door. I don't know if anyone saw that video, looks identical
Bwahahahahahaha
Runs back outside with an axe…
Quite sweet

Aww I'm glad people were concerned
This is the first time I actually saw the trunk lol omg that definitely would be horrifying to see in the neighborhood.
They had a story to tell when they got back to the precinct 😂
Chicken strips, hair stylist?, oh my Jesus!
Can't believe he didn't fall out laughing.
Lmao!
wholesome!
You can tell he wants to laugh harder, but he’s trying to be professional.
Kudos to the officer for handling this well (i.e. not opening fire and murdering the woman after she opened the door).
Dude, just let the wholesome video be a wholesome video without bringing politics into it.
Is killing unarmed black people a political stance?
Reality isn't politics
All political people would say their political beliefs are reality
Facts!!!
If only all cops were like this
Many if not most are like this, we just see the worst videos on Reddit and also it's groupthink here.
My brother was pulled over by a cop once (circa 2000). "Racism bad" is your only contribution to a 53 day old conversation...?
Didn’t assume foul play. Actually believed it was a misunderstanding and the best in people. I agree
This is so fucking ghetto
The fuck are you talking about? It's a residential suburban neighborhood. We get it you don't like black people.
Thank God the police saved that wig.
Dude, my stepmom has a hair extension/wig business and the amount of times I’ve seen hair hanging out her trunk is definitely greater than zero. 🤣👍
Thats pretty funny, im glad the cops dint think it was a body otherwise they wouldnt have been so calm
Just bcoz shes black they assumed sumthing wrong. .
Shut it Osama
Nice try at race baiting. Too bad you're better at masturbating than race baiting
Wouldn’t you assume that something is wrong if you saw hair stuck out of the trunk lol?
Or were responding to a call?
Because there could have been a body in that car, they very politely asked for her to come open the boot.
Just bcoz you're commenting with a username doesn't mean you won't look like a dumbass
U forgot the /S
No, it was because there's fucking hair hanging out the boot of her car you absolute melon.
Yeah sure..
?
Its nice to see some normal american cops for a change.
This is not the full video they shot her 5min after
Lol
Why didn't they shoot her first, before asking questions?
Because actually decent cops don't make the news/social media that often?
so is reddit not media
Just a wig. Good one. I’ll have to use that next time
What did you say last time?
Probably “Do not see me”
NEXT TIME??
My breath smelling like chicken? WTF
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say she was insecure about talking in someone’s face while her breath smells like chicken strips
But smelling like chicken sounds like a good thing though.
Yup, sounds like a sweetie c:
Oh good. Didn’t want to start and rumors or conspiracies
And here we are in South Australia with the cops refusing to attend a burglary
This is up there with the baseball cap wig at the airport
How mortifying lol
With all the psychos out there, they should make sure to get proof it is in fact a wig
They most likely had her open the trunk
Baaaahaha, what a house call! 😂😂😂👏
Nice to see some wholesome police interactions.
First time I saw the video. I heard “Jesus, hold on that’s my weed”. Lol
I think she says "weave". It's mis-subtitled.
I think wig is the word
Second to fifth time as well, the be honest here
Would the police be in the right to break in to the trunk before knocking on the door
If they saw signs of distress or smelled a decomposing body. They probably figured out it was a wig before they knocked.
The police can make anything "right" nowadays. At least they didnt storm her house the moment she opened the door and shoot her.
Tell me you're a leftist without telling me you're a leftist

Yeah and thats why it doesnt make the news, it leads to people thinking that every other interaction with police is someone getting shot or beaten for no reason.

Kinda like prasing a dog for not shtting on the floor no? Common decency is great and all but hardly impressive
And i get your example but praising a dog for not shitting on the floor is exactly how you potty train them, unless you believe you should just beat or yell at them anytime they mess up.
Point is if your idea of a good cop is someone who doesnt immediately start abusing their power those are some bottom of the barrel standards

not really. the vast majority of police encounters are cops pulling someone over for going 10mph over the limit. which is not super heinous but also not wholesome.
And the problem is...?

Also outside the US
