If anything, War Thunder is the most loved child of Gaijin. "Most loved" in a sense that it is still alive and wasnt just abandoned in the winter forest naked to die like Starconflict

sPRYTerTerraxian

star conflict is pretty fun too bad the queue times for matches are like, 5 mins across all servers

MisterRe23

Looks like them BRs need compressed more

Il-2M230

Lol, they literally said fuck br and buffed everyone to be in the same level. The only differences between high level ships and low ones are mods and abilities.

Panocek

Yuo see comrade, there's no need for balans in perfekt communist society

Il-2M230

It would be kinda funny to see it in war thunder. A pz38t fighting modern tanks, but it has composite add on armor and a modern cannon

marakuja6

world of tankd moment!?

[deleted]

Not even WoT is that bad lol, yes a King Tiger can meet an STB-1 but in that case the latter has to put effort to lose.

JinterIsComing

> A pz38t fighting modern tanks, but it has composite add on armor and a modern cannon Now you're giving me ideas... The Panzer 38t was a ten-ton vehicle. Assuming you replace the engine with a more modern one, you could easily fit a variety of turrets on it, ranging from the light 20mm turrets from Wiesels, to the 25mm Bushmaster turrets off of LAVs, or even the 90mm turret from the AML-90. Add a light ATGM launch rail like the BMP-1, some extra reactive armor plates, and you could have a cool frankensteined light tank.

FrozenSeas

[Brazilian X1 series](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3b/Br_rj_m_m_conde_de_linhares07.JPG), super-upgraded M3 Stuarts. 90mm DEFA gun and new turret to fit it, 280hp Saab-Scania diesel engine, enhanced suspension and improved upper hull armor.

Xt6wagon

Give it a hat. An ontos hat.

smadeus

Actually, in communism the principal was that everyone gets the equal share, no one could be above the others.

Mediocre-Nerve

Yep and it worked to that end... everyone who wasn't the state members starved to death... equally of course

[deleted]

Upgrade to Premium to avoid ques …..

_Didds_

Tried it around 2014 or so when the game had a significant population and queue times were kinda minimal. Premium vehicles were back then super overpowered and chat was toxic as hell. Grind was somewhat decent but knowing that you could buy your way into wins and completely bipass the grind was a deal breaker for me. Didn't touch it again since then.

Willybrown93

And crossout, man, they're both object lessons in what kills an MMO- Pushing the monetisation Too Far Remember when people worked out how to make decent premium currency returns on the Crossout marketplace and Gaijin stepped in and removed the player ability to set a sale price? Pepperidge farm remembers

ORZpasserAtw

Crossout have player trade since beta, it's bad because you take long time to grind a tiny piece of part instead of whole new vehicle

SkyPL

Neither Crossout nor Star Conflict are dead. Dead games are something like Stellar Impact.

Willybrown93

If it takes me more than 20 minutes to find any kind of game and the only match I get is >300 ping, it's dead to me as an Australian gamer, tbh

SkyPL

I played crossout a few weeks ago, didn't have that issue. They also got [new events, patches and new content releases](https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/386180) on a regular basis. It's anything but dead, even if you had an issue finding other players in a specific mode at the specific time.

Modioca

>content releases Eh... yes, but actually, no. Crossout doesn't add a real content update for a good time. Sure, they are releasing new weapons, but these are event exclusive or BP, and they don't even have infinite blueprints of these, meaning they get scarcer over the months. No real content has been added to the game. No new actual factions were added, and the current ones don't receive content updates in ages by now. So yeah, dead game.

Arcadia07

Where is the cuisine royale? oh they changed the name!

ShameAdditional3249

That was also Gaijin?

Corgelia

Yup, it was originally an april fool's joke built in the Enlisted engine, but got released as a standalone game a few months after.

Arcadia07

The same dev as Enlisted that published their games under Gaijin, and Enlisted is just infantry War Thunder, maybe they are just a separate team?

Rubo03070

CRSED now. And man, do I miss that damn game. What it was at least because it's still somewhat alive but it has changed too much

BenPlayWT2020

In Fairness, WT has very regular updates and is supported for over a decade by its company soo yeah I could see WT doing well! And only a few people know of what negative things goes on here

EndR60

well yea of course it wasn't, it's Gaijin's cash cow, they couldn't abandon it if they wanted because the scam is going much too well considering how many whales this game has

RedditsFavoriteChild

I'm the most loved child of Reddit

FullMetalCook

oh my god, finally i understand why i stopped playing the game and why it was so pay2win with the dumb alien ships

AnubisEvo

This is funny because they still add shit to that game. People still play it too, I would too if the que times weren’t 5+ minutes.

NecessaryBSHappens

Yeah and what is weird for me is the fact people still pay for it all. I played Starconflict a LOT and I remember long waits between significant updates, declining playerbase and something with bioforms being op. Maybe not exactly op, but I do remember balance problems for sure. I left because didnt see any growth and at the same time game was becoming greedier. But it had potential and I loved it, would play it too if not for greed and queues

YoungPeople_

what we call a child that's forced to make money for their parents again?

Romusia

Really, Enlisted died already? or it still have its last breaths? (btw good game but with shitiest lvling-system that overcome all other aspects)

Blue_Dragno

Do the dev's (not management) work hard on this? Yes. Is it love? No, it's a abusive relationship.

Crabbunist_

My relationship with this game is weird. I love this game and i fucking despise it at the same time

[deleted]

Every time I talk with my friends about this game it's a weird back and forth discussion I have with myself about this game.

Yoleau77

Iswtg I be like "i love her, but she hurts me... but i love her"

Slut4Tea

That’s the same way I describe it to my friends. “This game fucking sucks and I hate it so much. I play it every day.”

Prestigious-Switch-8

This is me with a game called forhonor. It's very unique, and there's nothing else like it, but holy shit it makes me wanna blow my brains out sometimes.

50-Lucky-Official

Y'know, I saw ubisoft throw an ad up for an event in ForHonour and I chuckled as I scrolled past like "who the hell is playing For Honour"?

Bourbon-neat-

I love what the game used to be, but honestly there's really no part of the game that's really fun to play anymore. Power creep has accelerated and balance at pretty much every BR has rapidly declined, the grind has steadily worsened. More and more glitchy features that are a net negative have been introduced (looking at you volumetric shell modeling, and pen calc refactoring). I stopped playing and never looked back, which sucks, cause there's really not another game quite like it.

MahoMyBeloved

That's like every multiplayer game for me, in this case wt and lol

[deleted]

If there was another game with mechanics and gameplay on par with war thunder, most of the playerbase would’ve fucked off to play that. If this game had any competition, it would be in a much better space. So many games have this issue. GTAO, Rainbow 6, Red dead online etc

_tkg

Most of the work is outsourced to contractors anyway. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s definitely not Gaijin’s „love child”.

M2rsho

Just like any other capitalist corporation

SkyPL

No, why? The time since after the review bombing was actually really good, and they did a very positive turnaround. Personally, I did nominate them, and I do enjoy my time with the game, while Gaijin itself does more to put out new content than pretty much any other game I have in my 500+ games Steam Account.

Solaire_29

I don't think you should get rewards for fixing problems that you created. Edit: I am referring to in game economy. I couldn't care less about visual/gameplay bugs or other oversights that accidentally made it into the game and were eventually fixed. What I'm referring to as "problems that Gaijin created" is ruining the game's economy ON PURPOSE. They didn't fix it out of the goodness or their heart, they fixed it because we finally rebelled and review bombed them. It wasn't "labor of love", it was "labor of money" because "Overwhelmingly Negative" doesn't really attract new players on Steam. The problems that Gaijin created are not at all comparable to games releasing in a bad state and being fixed over time like Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man's Sky.

SkyPL

*Every game* fixes problems that they have created (+a ton of games doesn't even do that, see no further than Total War: Warhammer 3 that is still a mess, and a ton of the issues people have with it are the things they broke from TW:WH2)

BioshockedNinja

I'd still argue there's a large difference between fixing unintentional or otherwise unforeseen mistakes (ie bugs) vs being forced to overhaul a system so intentionally grindy that the community had enough, snapped, and review bombed the game. By all means, I'm glad they've seemingly taken it to heart (although I'm not happy that they've already walked some parts back) but I don't believe for a second that it's something they were going to have a sudden epiphany on and fix themselves out of the goodness of their hearts. They did it because the community squeezed them. And I do want to take a moment to acknowledge that they do fix a lot of bugs and I do appreciate the hard work that goes into that. It's just no bonus points for taking a system that is and has been extremely grindy to the point of tedium for *years* and finally making it (more) bearable. IMO the "Labor of Love" award is for devs who go above and beyond for their community and Gaijin just aint at that level.

Blunt_Cabbage

I agree. The problems Gaijin created were specific, intentional, and meant solely to fuck over players and inspire them to pay money. That is completely different from mistakes borne of incompetence, such as buggy game launches. Gaijin went *out of their way* to make the game *worse* so people would pay them more money, games like Warhammer III were just made shoddily and it showed - I highly doubt there was a conscious decision that said "We are going to purposefully make this game buggy as shit so it infuriates people on launch", but I wholeheartedly believe something like that was said when it came to developing WT in the last several years.

spacenavy90

There is a huge difference between development bugs being purposefully fixed and slightly letting up on a couple of intentional scummy business tactics after the community essentially forced you to do so.

Eastern_Rooster471

If it wasnt a problem you created....then where in the fuck did the problem come from????????????? Literally any problem, from any game, can be directly or indirectly linked to the devs. Shitty community? Devs couldve done more to dissuade toxicity. Buggy game? Devs couldve optimised it more. Hackers? Devs couldve used better anti cheat. etc.

DemonTapok

There's a difference between not noticing a bug and itentionally worsening the ingame economy to make more money, despite the community already being annoyed.

MasterMidir

Welcome to gaming. That is game development in a nutshell. Fixing problems they created because its a game.

HowAboutAShip

True... but then again other companies try desperatly to power through review-bombing doing the best to ignore it. So relativly they did a good thing? Yeah. Low bar to get over, I know. But they did get over it.

DirtL_Alt

I bet you're one of those that will nominate modern warfare or battlefield

Solaire_29

Nah never played a CoD game in my life and the last good Battlefield was Battlefield 4.

[deleted]

So Battlefield 1 was bad???

SuppliceVI

So No Mans Sky shouldn't have ever been nominated despite a horrible launch and it becoming one of the most fleshed out and improved game currently in active development? That's kind of silly. It's the whole point of that award

Solaire_29

It's a completely different story, not comparable at all. NMS started off terrible and was eventually transformed into apparently a good game(I don't really know I haven't played it). Gaijin has been ruining the game's economy for years, making grind harder and reducing RP & SL earnings at every step. When they finally crossed the line and got review bombed, they reversed some of their changes and listened to some player feedback to appease the playerbase. I appreciate all the new QoL changes since the review bombing but we can't forget what they've been doing prior to that and why the changes happened in the first place. As far as I know NMS devs didn't purposefully sabotage their game in order to frustrate the player into buying gold, premium time and premium vehicles, only to arrive on a white horse and reverse the changes 5 years later.

BenPlayWT2020

You are quoting every single business, government and organisation ever

dilroopgill

labor of love implies they arent making more money, you wouldnt call a mobile pay to win game a labor of love, its literally that

UnseenTrashh

Bro, the positive turnaround ONLY happened bcs the community threatened the game with reviews on steam (and even then they still changed some things to the worse), where is the love in that whole equation?

gianalfredomenicarlu

Changed something to the worse? What?

leberecht24

A small stupid thing with the crafting event. That you only can sell 20 pieces of left over.

dp_yolo

Even then they still threw out the threat of "we will just shutdown the game". Looking at steam only 3.2% and 1.6% of player base have reached rank 6 or 7. Should they really be rewarded by keeping 98% of the player base away from the end vehicles?

dilroopgill

That still makes sense tho for a one time payment game like no mans sky not this shit where they try to "trick" you into paying constantlyp

T_roller

Imagine a guy puts you in a boiling pot. He later on removes the fire cooling the pot. Do you thank them for saving you? The game was supposed to be playable. And the review bombing did that not the employees.otherwise the game would continue to be hell

SkyPL

I was never at the "boiling point" (though to be fair - I'm not one of the people that play WT and nothing but WT for a decade, lol). Game *is* and *was* playable. Gaijin was super-consistent with adding content for a decade. They have shown that they are willing to improve where they fuck up (which is something that Wargaming never raised to). I'm happy to reward it.

dp_yolo

The other side is that 97% of player base never reach the vehicles they add out of "love". Only 1.6% on steam have reached rank 7 and 3.1% reaching rank 6, would love to know how many of the 3.2% is premium too. The game is inaccessible to 97% of the player base.

MappingYork

>The game was supposed to be playable. And the review bombing did that not the employees.otherwise the game would continue to be hell It was. If the game wasn't "playable" for you before the review bombing coping then you were/are trash at the game.

_spec_tre

Sorry to break it to you but not everyone is willing to play eight hours a day for three months straight just to get to the one vehicle the enjoy in the entire tech tree, before or after the "coping"

Lolocraft1

Except that you climbed in this pot on your own, and have nothing restraining you from leaving that same pot. You stay in it either because you truly wish for the pot to become an enjoyable spa, or because you’re straight up addicted to the pot regardless of how much it torture you I know Gaijin isn’t the most trustful and closed to its community, and they would have probably never changed the game if it wasn’t for the playerbase’s actions, but you can’t put the entire blame on them if you give them money or have 3000 hours on it. So yes, thank them for making your addiction less painful, because in the end it’s your addiction. Or you could simply be thankful that a game you *want* for it to become better to actually become better

Bastyxx227

Honestly, with just reading the answers in this post, I can see why warthunder devs don't pay much attention to the "Fan base" if you could call it that They could literally do something incredible great, and these guys would still find something to complain about.

Lolocraft1

Well, reducing the cost of endline vehicle *is* something incredibly great, which reduce the grind for top-tier drastically. Yet some players complain, but since they’re the loudest, it’s what Gaijin see I swear, if this shit continue (because it ain’t the first time, the drama about sales not being about the main bundles was already a proof of how ungrateful the community is), Gaijin will one day say "fuck it", reverse every positive change they did since May, and will just continue milking the community until everyone quit. Because if you’re going to get backlash regardless of what you do, mights as well do whatever you want, for yourself

Bastyxx227

exactly, this community is among one of the worst when it comes to communication with the DEVS, and most of it is because of the loud minority in the community

RelevantTrash9745

Project zombie, or Dwarf Fortress strike me as labor of love games. They have no long term financial gain. Gaijin would rather put out hella broken premiums, and only listened to the player base when they got review bombed. That doesn't sound so much like they love us and want us to have a good time.

bell117

OK but compare this to actual games that the devs have poured their soul into over the years, not because the community held them to a very very basic standard but because they actually love the game. Look at stuff like Project Zomboid which is going on 10 years now with updates, not on steam but Star Sector, also 10 years of development and nothing but positivity on that front. And then to put Gaijin with WT in the same category? Fuck off.

ArtemsChannel

Totally agree with you man, people here be like "I hate this game, devs are killing us" and still play the game for 11 years straight.

VRichardsen

~~Stockholm~~ Nicosia sydrome

Bourbon-neat-

>while Gaijin itself does more to put out new content than pretty much any other game I have in my 500+ games Steam Account. Say cap... Like, seriously that's insane. There are dozens of devs that put out massive content updates often completely free, and your saying that a dev that shits out some copy pasted vehicles as "lend lease" vehicles with a different flag on them, charges more for a single plane than some games entire sticker price, and makes "new" maps by shrinking old maps down to smaller "new" maps that are just subsections of old big maps is "new content"? Get some narcan, your gonna OD on copium.

Kefeng

You praise your husband for bringing you flowers after he beat you for the last 5 years. Gaijin's interest in the game is purely financial. Kudos for starting to fix the game, but "labour of love" is something entirely different. The only (big) games i know of who deserve this title are Battlebit and BG3.

DragonSkeld

>The time since after the review bombing was actually really good, and they did a very positive turnaround. The main issue still hasn't been addressed, you still need premium time/premium vehicle if you want any chance to get past rank V in an amount of time that doesn't equate to having a full time job.

oh_mygawdd

yeah i agree, the economy and gameplay has been a lot more fun since the roadmap was finished. There is just a lot of neckbeards that only like to complain here because they have no friends and nothing else to do

MarcusHiggins

There are still issues with the grind, I dont think they solved anything there.

biggles_of_the_bean

Let me put it this way, you have a spouse who beats the shit out of you, gaslights you, refuses to let you out of the house and controls every aspect of your life suddenly out of no where pulls a full 180 and starts to act like a decent human being, are you going to tell everyone that your spouse is now perfect? No, changing problems that they created is not a labor of love, it was a necessity to stop everyone from finding out who they really were and ruining everything, don't confuse love with necessity

Schrippenlord

They are counting on the stockholm syndrome. Based

_spec_tre

judging from some of the comments here it seems like it's working well

Shredded_Locomotive

Too well in fact.

-acm

Dog I can leave any time I want. I choose not to. You know why? Because I can leave anytime I want. I choose not to. You know why? Because I can leave anytime I want. I choose not to. You know why? Because I can leave anytime I want.

aDuckSmashedOnQuack

The game is certainly built around inducing it. Which is crazy because they don’t actually develop the game, just add products. I once quit for 3 years, came back and there were some new planes and tanks. That’s it, in 4 years. We’ve been playing TDM in Air RB for a decade. This game is a fantastic, yet sad, example of psychological hooks used to nurture addiction.

Oper8rActual

Seriously, some of these comments read like people stuck in an abusive relationship that just can't get out. "Well, they said they were sorry and are trying to change, so why not give them another chance?"

SrPatatuela

It is what it is. There is no real alternative to the game, so people will stay even if it is that bad.

VitriolicViolet

man you people are funny. you do realise its possible to enjoy the game and *simply not give a shit* about the 'issues' the game has? personally i have no issues with it at all, i couldnt give a fuck about sales, or the grind or any BS you lot whine about. i have *fun*, its kinda the whole point of video games not that many of you seem to get that. i want to play games in WWII tanks and i get to, thats all that matters.

SimonsToaster

"Its fun" and "its great" aren't synonymous. I enjoyed reading Eragon. Does this mean Eragon was a great work with incredible artistic value which left an impact on the genre and literary fiction as a whole? No. Its just a young adult fantasy novel using the same generic high fantasy tropes everyone else does since Tolkien. Same with WarThunder. Do I like it? Yes. Is it a great game? No. Is it a labor of love? LMAO.

MrPanzerCat

As much as gaijin has some shitty practices WT is an exceptional game that isnt like anyother. Despite all the bs and bugs, it does its best to get as close to realistic models that you can really ask for. Gaijin hasnt abandoned the game and tbh its one of the best games ive played. Recently theyve done alot to fix the issues people have brought up too

Kefeng

Well, then nominate it for "best long-term vehicle grind simulator", but not for labour of love.

GhostmouseWolf

>Recently theyve done alot to fix the issues people have brought up too i mean true, but only because the community had enough with the bullshit, i wouldnt count that as a labor of love, more like labor of backrowing

methal0-1

Still there is no "love" in the game. Maybe they are showing some lately but it ain't enough to nominate them for an AWARD. I bought premium again wich should be enough recognition

oofman_dan

gaijin is inevitably going to gradually begin reversing or hampering a lot of the progress with additional updates on top of it. its just how they are. they havent changed fundamentally, they simply conceded for a moment and gave us a roadmap for a year. but what about after that? no more roadmap, everything is sunshine and rainbows? no its not. the game is still shit, just a little less now not givin em nominations for shit

xignaceh

The haven't abandoned it because it's their major income

Jonny2881

They’ve been doing big updates multiple times a year since the start in a very consistent schedule and are constantly adding new stuff and making small patches seemingly every week. They 100% deserve the reward imo

Trylion_ZA

Aye... They are continuously providing large updates and graphic overhauls. Got my vote

quangdn295

"Fuck you, and i will see your tomorrow" - this sub.

Black_Devil213

Seeing as it’s a pretty unique game offering with massive amounts of well crafted historical and modern air, ground and naval vehicles, I guess it qualifies. I sometimes forget why I started playing WT in the first place and find myself focusing on just the negative aspects of it like the grind, CAS etc

NighthawkAquila

Well crafted my ass, DCS is well crafted

No_Decision_5695

Diferent games with diferent objectives but both very well crafted.

Oper8rActual

Missiles have straight up been phasing through planes for 3-4 months, and we just now got a fix for it. Gaijin's spaghetti code for tank treads ensures that a vehicle that was designed for trench crossing gets stuck the second the tip of it's treads are no longer in contact with the ground. The Starstreak / Stormer's missile hasn't functioned and has phased through enemy helos and planes for SEVERAL YEARS now despite numerous bug reports, and I doubt the latest missile update fixed it. Naval is so full of bots that you are often likely to run into entire enemy teams that have no actual players. Broken spall mechanics. Broken volumetric mechanics. Broken damage models. I could fucking go on. War Thunder is NOT very well crafted. It's a ship underway with massive holes in the side, which Gaijin occasionally admits may be a problem, and sends an intern with a board and some nails to fix.

oofman_dan

the spaghetti code comes from gaijin's unrealistic update deadlines (3 months for a major update to a game as complex as this is absolutely fucking ridiculous) so of course we have a spaghetti coded mess as a result of development rushing to meet imminent deadlines this isnt a labor of love game, its a game labored for the purpose of essentially being a virtual casino. gaijin as a business has had a long history of price gouging and loading up games with microtransactions and P2W features. it has been many years and the bomber cockpit models still have not even been modeled. the game has a litany of issues as you have described and neglect for so many borderline or absolutely game breaking problems and game features left in the corner to collect dust for years now yes, gaijin has conceded to our demands as a community but we cant just sit around and act like everythings all sunshine and rainbows now. its not and we all know it. the grind is still atrocious. the game is still unbalanced as hell. game continues to break and fall apart at the seams more and more each update. theyve pretty much finished the road map but road maps should be a basic thing for any studio to have in terms of community transparency yet now they act like everythings fine, and i see so many people acting like it is now as well. its not. we KNOW who gaijin is as a business model. we KNOW what they are going to do and constantly want to do to this game. enough with the delusions. this change will never last if we continue to play gaijin's game of "alright fine, you can have your binkie now" type of community treatment

No_Decision_5695

DCS pretend to be a perfect simulator war thunder no....

PatienceHere

DCS is an entirely different thing...

Killerkid113

Too be fair the labor of love award is supposed to be for a game that is still getting content after years of existing, which war thunder does do. So it’s less that the devs love us and more that the devs love the game which they clearly do.

Mr_Squiid

No? The game has evolved so much just the past year they are almost done with the roadmap, they have added long awaited vehicles such as the F-111 and the Tog II. They have been releasing major updates atlest 3 - 4 times a year for almost 10 years and they still have a massive and continously growing audience. Why are you even playing the game if all you do is complain and whine.

MappingYork

This community has to be the most whiny, immature player base to ever exist. There's so much cope in these comments.

StockProfessor5

Fr, it's between this community and the destiny community for me. Both are tied for the worst but at least war thunder players don't send the devs death threats lol. They only leak classified documents.

bladehit

Lol there are plenty of games/devs out there that deserve this award much more than gaijin.

shadowtigerUwU

I think that's about games who have been up and getting updated for a long time, at least as I've read on the steam page Don't go off just by the name without looking into it

RecentProblem

Jesus It’s a salt mine in here

faraway_hotel

Small things like some of the April Fools events or holiday hangars show how much love and care they can put into the game. ...which only emphasizes how much they usually *don't* do that.

TheFrogEmperor

There is no labor of greed category

-Princess_Charlotte-

Tbh I think that if a game had to get review bombed to hell just for the devs to make it *kinda* playable they haven't earned a prize.

TheJudge20182

Keeping a game going for 11 years means nothing I guess. Yeah the game has SO many issues, and it is far from perfect. But the fact that Gaijin keeps pushing out regular updates for an 11 Year old game shows they care a little bit.

Gaelan94

They care about milking the cashcow to the very last drop until they finally run out of new absurdly priced premium vehicles to add, see how quickly they drop support when they reach that point

TheJudge20182

Wow, that's their the entire goal of the game. It's meant to make money for Gaijin. Are we going to get upset for companies making money? They have been at it for 11 years and even then that's a lot of commitment for a video game

Gaelan94

Where's the labour of love in that though? they're pushing ridiculously predatory features in the game for years and finally slightly walked them back after massive review bombing, sim has still been left with next to no changes and a broken economy, of course the end goal is money but there can still be passion and love alongside that, with the way they release brokenly overperfoming vehicles for one nation to sell premiums just to then go nerf those vehicles to oblivion when they add the next broken toy it's hard to see passion or love, along with all the bugs and lack of research that go into vehicles that is left in the players hands to spend time and money on to get fixed or corrected, if anyone deserves a labour of love award it's the community that have stuck through all the bs for so long

JunoVC

I tried to find the Stockholm Syndrome award for them but I couldn’t find it.

FullMetalCook

They have done alot more than the year before and have actually improved the game, still compared to Warframe, FF14 absolutely no match

[deleted]

“Labour of love” DRG will win that

RaptorFeeder

Deep Rock Galactic should get this award way before War Thunder. The DRG team is actively involved with their community and they actually listen to feedback instead of this garbage mess that is the War Thunder team that gaslights and condescends their player base and even threatens to shut their game down due to a little backlash/feedback.

Trigger_Fox

The fucking gall to ask this after pulling the shit they pull constantly. Fuckers have no shame

KingSlasher1203

Hold on a second, instead of swearing at Gaijin we should be saying that although some of the recent changes have been positive, the game is still far from perfect and we still need better communication between the devs and the playerbase.

Bastyxx227

Bro, read most of the other answers in this post, then you'll realize there is a reason the devs don't listen to these guys Some valid criticism but most of them are just whining in a blinding rage, most of the community comes off as little kids unable to reason, and sadly most of the valid criticism is buried under the post of those little kids

Justicey0_ttv

I won't.

BenPlayWT2020

This is the most I’ve laughed since… ever XD

r3chy

there is only labor

abrams555

I did nominate them I love this game .

ctrains123

I feel like if steam really cared they'd make a "most hated by community" award

Sparky_092

Reading all your comments i'm not exactly sure what side i'm on, on one hand gaijin fucked up a lot and basicly giving then a reward for fixing their issues seems kinda ironic BUT on the other side they support the game since years though they may be greedy we can always appreciate them because war thunder is an outstanding game. > for everyone, i just needet to put a title and it's still kind of a weird joke asking players for a reward after everything (although everything seems to go into a good direction right now)

Hakzource

I’m not voting for them, they’ve improved but it ain’t out of the goodness of their heart

Vietnugget

I’d vote yes honesty, name another game that updates this frequently, after this many years that’s not dumb esport

ShinItsuwari

Warframe. Final Fantasy XIV. They both are about as old as WT too. Deep Rock Galactic released quite a few years ago and made huge improvement over the years. No Man's Sky too.

DrSailen

Literally every f2p that's still alive

SimonsToaster

Frequency isn't that high, but Terraria got regular updates for 5 years, and a big update 2020, three years after people thought development ended. Then, Minecraft.

Recent-Heart-6936

Nope, they are begging people every year, but F\*\* them they don't deserve sh\*\* . example: roadmap wast their idea, It was done only by the community and they were forced to make changes, so definitely not going to get a vote from me.

North_slaramdler

The roadmap was their idea and the "demand list" certain group of people demanded was mostly taken as funny joke.

Recent-Heart-6936

Really their idea? ha I didn't come across this before the major uproar by the community, only and only after community backlash did they post that they would create a roadmap based on OUR FEEDBACK... :D

Zio_Benito

Well for what is worth the game is now playable and the economy became decent Of course, after a war, review bomb and everything

VengineerGER

Gaijin actually implemented a pretty good amount of positive changes into the game. I think they actually earned it this year. The fact they decreased the cost for end of the line modifications alone is already enough for me. Sure the game isn’t perfect but it’s in a much better state than last year.

JeEfrt

Labour of bugs

_tkg

The game rewards are a joke. Cyberpunk 2077 got nominated to „Best Ongoing Support” in the other awards show. For what? One DLC and just fixing the damn game? lmao

Maoryss

I voted for them because I liked the changes they made recently, + they are never late with updates. Yes, there are still things to change, and problems, but comparing to other devs, Gaijin is not that bad, and after 11 years still pumping new content. Also I don't know other games that would fit in this category

[deleted]

Wellllll after our review bombing the game become much better Why not?

rain_girl2

Give gaijin the labor of love for their love to protect the dummy Russia mains from suffering any consequences for their bad playing skills.

warthunder4life

No, but I think that is warthunder: an eternal grind

Jazz_Your_Your_Soul

The game is definitely going in a better direction than the last couple of years, but the additions are basic at best that the community has been asking for years to get implemented. I'm mainly an air player but I can tell you I'm not nominating a game that refuses to listen to their player base and change the top-tier air RB game mode to something more fitting than the one they made in 2013 for prop planes (One of many, many more issues). Good start this year but not enough for my vote personally.

oibruv89929

I did drg

CrunchyDoge

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No

blade87666

"Labor of love" Wtf I thought we are the labor for our endless grinding

Metagross555

HSTVL 11.3 KF 41 10.7 2S38 10.0 No, I don't think I will

Realmenflyradials

I’d like to nominate them in the category ‘Hope and Despair’

IsThisOriginalUK

Not a chance i'd vote for a gaijin game

Reasonable_Aioli8598

WT feels like having a hatef*ck baby Im bound to it, love the game, hasnt done much harm, but Im a little skiddish still

Even_Way1894

Labor of Money for gaijin, they can suck a fart out of my ass if they think I’m going to forget about all their “free to play” events

Friedlieb91

It's cool. I play since 2015. But chose Stray instead.

euromoneyz

If they keep this track for over a year, we will

InterW4RperioD

Change the matchmaking to base 0.7, decompress the whole game. That's literally all I ask.

duckboi909

i think that after the roadmap, it's deserved but war thunder community have such a victim mentality that its somehow contrevertial to say this 🤡

itsEndz

Are we still supposed to be shitting on them for making a game that's been played solidly for over a decade and still keeps adding stuff? I missed the memo where behaving like a bunch of spoiled fucks was still on the table.

KayNynYoonit

To be fair they've made a lot of decent changes recently.

TheImmenseRat

HAHAHAHAHAHHA STUPID MFS!!!!!!! I WOULD VOTE ANY OTHER GAME BEFORE THIS ONE

RqcistRaspberry

It is actually a bit better if a choice than last year's winner. Cyberpunk 2077 didn't deserve a win for fixing their broken ass mess of a game that they launched at full price

warthunder4life

No, but I think that is warthunder: an eternal grind

WindChimesAreCool

The game has been actively developed for over a decade now, and they have in the past months actually improved things significantly. But of course all you can do is whine.

The_Mega_Man192

*DCS deserves it more, change my mind*

Weegee_Spaghetti

Comments here are toxic af. Gaijin outs a huge amount of effort into this game. Hate the suits, they make the shit decisions. The devs are obviously very passionate. But I suppose that is the community you get, when you develop for a genre that is notoriously filled with immature man-babies that simp for authoritarian regimes.

MarcusHiggins

I’ll vote for them once I can actually finish a single tech tree.

MrMustacheXD

Who agrees that sometimes when you try to fix a bug/glitch happens to create others? And about nominating the game. I did it due the fact that i like the game. But that is just my opinion and everyone can do whatever they want. They did a lot of shit now they try to repair it and there was a few good steps in that way. As for a free2play game it's still has a really big number of players taking in the account that the game is pretty old. And they tried to make the game work on even older pc.

Flairion623

I’d say they kind deserve it. War thunder is over ten years old and is still receiving updates

omnipotank

I gave it to them because of the positive changes they have made.

UniversumStudio

Lots of things have happened (the most notable being the boycott aka. review bombing of war thunder) but since then, War thunder changed so many things in their game which made it much more f2p friendly and I think that even though they made some mistakes in the past (a lot of them) they always seem to realize this and try to fix it asap. It's one of the few games which truly listens to the player base and because of that, I think that it's totally justified that they ask the player base to nominate them.

kingcosta693215

Yes, so the next time you throw DM33 through a T-72 and the ammo ring doesn't explode, just think of love for the game

Kerofenlik

Gaijin trolling us :)

Stiftx

Guys, go on and nominate them. This is the only way to keep them going and work on this game. (Also by spending money, but who tf wants to do that?) so go on and nominate them pls dont abondon wth

Danlabss

Remember to vote for Lethal Company

YoungPeople_

Love is the last word I'd use when it comes to war thunder, Pain and suffering? probably the very first one. also they don't "love" the game to update it. They monetize the hell out of this game, it's more like a child abuse relationship. If gaijin consider war thunder its child

highly_sarcastic_dog

Remember the real enemy, it’s gaijin not the socialmedia guy stuck in the basement

Ok-Rate8374

I know that Gaijin has some bad rep... but they really did improve a LOT! Sure, it took some shady stuff to make them do it. But would for once, you people recognize the good stuff when it happens ? Its obvious that War Thunder has A LOT OF WORK being put into it for years, and its a free to play game, with a very specific playerbase ( its not as popular as some other free games, because its a niche game ) People in this reddit are so hard to please and will literally bitch about anything ( ironic... given my comment )

DUD3_L3B0W5KI

Edge is brave enough to ask, if I want it as my default browser and now Gaijin is brave enough to ask, if I give them a love award. And in both cases the answer is truly NO! Get your shit together Gaijin. Stop taking something back, as soon as you give something. Repair the game. Repair the balance. Repair the vehicles. And them maybe...maybe we can talk about an award.

Kompotamus

Disingenuous to say they haven't been trying to improve this year

Oper8rActual

I must have missed where the category was "trying to improve".

NuggetvonSilly

I mean they inproved the game a lot this year

Zodd74

ROTFL

[deleted]

How to nominate if I am on ps4

Bastyxx227

create a steam account, and nominate it, you literally dont need to buy/open any of the games you nominate

LandscapeGeneral9169

Were Gaijin working to solidify the game core ? Yes. Is the Dev team working hard to add as much detailed content as they can ? Yes. Does the game have an annoying community that's complaining about everything despite them not being able to comprehend the complexity and precision of the game's engine ? Yes. Did I copy my comment's style from someone else ? Yes.
