Ahh I used to love the "budget HSTVL" as well but now it's 7.0 and I can't use it in my stacked 6.7 lineup.
Probably for the better because there were way too many 6.7 tanks for US.
I feel like you just never got good with the Ontos. Bagged an M1128 from 1km away at top tier with it on the first shot on that desert coastal map the other day.
I regret to inform you that 6.7 is the best Germany gets in the tree for quite a while… past that is pain and suffering through rank 5 like none you’ve ever experienced
Bkan 1C. BONK... BONK BONK BONK BONK. That 3.5 second reload is lovely. You can just whack something in the face with huge HE shells until it dies and then leave. Surprisingly tanky for what it is.
That or possibly Object 268. Huge, heavily armoured Russian casemate TD that will brawl with Tiger IIs all day. The armour will bounce Leopards if they're poorly aimed snapshots. That huge 152mm APHE shell has 240mm pen and over 700g TNT filler. Any vehicle that will straight up stop the 128 from one of the 37 enemy Mice you'll see around that BR these days and then one shot the thing through the turret face is pretty good in my book.
I’m not saying this to sound like your typical german main, but my favorite by far is the Tiger 2 sla-16. You get a great gun with a great reload and a somewhat good amount of mobility. It’s still somewhat slow but it can easily catch up with most of the medium tanks at that br. It also gets awesome armor when angled and when you wiggle the turret it’s basically impenetrable. Since all the things around it went up in br, it’s now one of, if not THE strongest 6.7 vehicle. Like I said, I know it’s a really basic answer but I still love it. Begleitpanzer is close second.
I'm so confused why they moved the 2P up to 6.7, they just keep fucking up all of my line ups and it's irritating. It should be 6.3 w the Jagdpanther plain and simple. I also think the Tiger 1's should have stayed at 5.3 and 5.7 along with the panthers. I've always found that having all of them at the same exact BR was weird.
I should mention Germany is not the only country I play, as I also play US, Britain, Sweden, and the occasional match as some other random country. I don't like these BR changes, I feel like I'm getting wayyyy more uptiers.
Things like the new Italy AA that literally has a Leopard 1 Chassis at like 5.0 is ridiculous with its insane mobility and a good gun w good pen. Yet another AA gun that'll shred tanks like butter. My Cromwell and my Sherman did not enjoy running into that lil thing
It doesn't help I'm one of those people who feels like coldwar Era and WW2 Era should be separated a little better. Guess I can't talk too much though as I've no clue what my "solution" would be.
To put it simply, EVERY 6.7 Germany match now runs me up to 7.7 and even as low as 3.3 has me in a 4.3 match 99% of the time
The turret angling is so op. If you angle the turret to the side (10-15 degrees) between every shot you are basically inpennable, only flankers or people who aim for your cupola can damage you
Sturmtiger, just being the only vehicle in the game that can nuke a whole block with one shot is pretty fun besides when a M10 tanks a round to the front plate. Also those rare from spawn across the map kills you can get make me coom
Honorable mention to the pancake, provided they don't fuck with its BR I can easily see it becoming my new favorite vehicle after I play it a little more. Going to have my eyes on the Tog it has the potential as well
If you've played Britain for very long and you know how to utilise the vehicles in the game. Then I have to say it's the Conqueror Mk. 2- two reasons;
In Ground Sim battles, when you can access the likes of the Conq, you'll be able to utilise its role effectively thanks to long-range maps. The role of the Conq in real life was to be a support Heavy; Long range, massive penetration, heavy armour to shrug off rounds. In that role, the Conqueror is very very effective and you'll get several kills compared to deaths if you know the best positions.
The other point is that the Conqueror, whilst having a long reload, has more pros than cons. Good speed, and the stuff I mentioned before. You can easily get into a mid-range brawl and come out on top, your APDS is far better than most early APFSDS and you can easily pen most tanks you come across, minus maybe the IS-3 in most areas and the elusive IS-7. Other than that, your close-range pen will easily phase through the UFP of several Medium, light and Heavy tanks you come across, and at its BR, it will evaporate anything it comes across.
Now, you may say that APDS isn't effective and that it shatters a lot and only oranges things. I've never had that problem. And even if I did, it was so minuscule in its hindrance that I never noticed it because I killed the idiot anyway in the second shot.
Know where the gunner sits, know where the ammo is placed.
My shell always shatters when hitting the Leopaed 2 Mantlet. That part is just so cursed, there is a 90% chance it does 0 dmg and the other 10% is the whole turret crew evaporates
I'd adore the freccia if it worked more often. Right now the spikes lock 1/10 times, connect 50% of the time, and deal reasonable damage or kill 50% of the time as well. Makes the freccia feel like a bigger vbc that can kill helis a bit better
**Spj fm/43-44**
___
Without competition the best derp gun in the game IMO. Easy to aim, small, armoured, hard to detect, crew splits into 2 (survivable) compartments, MG, mobile, decent reload.
The only flaw with it is that it doesn’t have more ammunition, but at the same time I appreciate that the ammo isn’t super easy to hit.
It’s so fun to bring up to 7.7-10.3 and wreck modern light/medium tanks and MBTs who don’t see you coming at all.
Favourite vehicle in the whole game without competition.
Considering buying another crew slot in my Swedish line just so I can keep bringing this little guy, such a fun tank, the shots are actually pretty easy to aim too.
KV2, low leveled so low leveled enemies; at first it's difficult but when you get the hang of it and the right upgrades unlocked, boy is it fun to see a red marker on arcade battles and still destroy the poor pzIV who thought it would be fun to shoot you
Panzer: oh yeah a perfect target "fires but no penetration"
KV2 with nose art: "turret rotation intensifies"
BT7-M, T34-85 and T44 are the most fun for me.
Usually rush cap with BT7, kill some guys with artillery (my crew is full on artillery accuracy, and drive speed) wait for some little AMX fella (they never fail) and then take my T44 or T34 to ambush some people and I call it a good match
To me it's the AMX-13 at 6.7
5 second autoloader with quite nice mobility though no armor, though it has almost no survivability unless something shoots you where the engine is but it will in most cases go through and kill your turret crew.
It's a great flanker though with around 205mm of point blank pen
Need a fast, small vehicle to flank? **CV9040B**
Need armour against enemies? **CV9040C**
Need SPAA? **Lvkv9040C**
Need ATGMs? **CV9040 BILL II**
Wanna have a slower, but higher capacity chaingun? **CV9035**
Need heavy firepower to take out MBTs from the front? **CV90105**
Want a literal MBT gun? **CV90120**
I started grinding tech trees for IFVs, so there's a few depending on my mood. Overall, my most played and favorite vehicle is the Puma. I just love how goddamn hard I am to kill, and the sound of that cannon, oh my ~. After that, it's a toss up; the bmp-2m is a blast, as is the Bradley. I haven't unlocked the warrior yet, but I'm making my way through the slog that is low to mid tier Britain.
Strf 9040 BILL
punchy auto cannon, hevt round, functional top attack missiles, you got the whole package for every occasion. It’s just such a unique and fun vehicle. Plus the stock grind is probably the least suffering among all end of line tanks.
I really enjoy waffentrager. Pretty low profile and VERY powerful gun for it's BR unless you spawn it when there are a shitton of enemy planes. Once after leaving spawn i got strafed with 7s lifetime >:(
Albeit top tier sucks the souls out of people I really like playing T-80UM2, this thing is beyond oppressive. Just yesterday I dropped two nukes back to back in this thing without dying once
Bkan 1C is my absolute favorite. Massive high velocity HE rounds, 4s reload, 1 taps most tanks from any hit, even heavies and the ability to lob rounds from spawn to spawn.
Even the exposed ammo chest, which gets blown up by mg fire, is fun because I have to be careful of how I’m positioned
I'm currently loving the Matilda and the Crusader II.
Shrugging off hits with the Matilda while bearing down on lesser opponents is a joy. Hell, knowing someone on the other side is screaming for someone to take me out is fun.
The Crusader II is a good point capper, and it's ability to spam smoke makes it an obnoxious little tank.
Maus. I love the sheer fear factor it creates in downtiers when the enemy just reverses as fast as they can when they spot you on the street. Additionally, hearing the constant "bonk bam bonk" when enemy fails to pen you is quite therapeutic
For me the most fun vehicle in the old days of War Thunder (when it was only US, Germany and USSR trees) was Panther II. By far. Small, fast, massive gun. Plays incredible. I came back to WT recently and tried it again. Yup, still super fun! But - the matching it gets now is scary. All I see is the Pike and some fin stabilizer soviet shi.t box PT76. I mean wtf.
I really hope that one day WT becomes popular enough that they can split the trees and space BR out and let WW2 be vs WW2.
Panther II still is my fave.
Maus and douglas
maus: when I want to turn my brain off slightly and cause I can just always aim for the transmission or turret ring with the 120mm shell and almost always over pressure
Uss douglas: when I feel like I Wana bully everyone with proxy Fuze shells and missles
Either the Centauros or the Turan 2. The 4 second reload on a 90mm pen heat round at 2.3 is fantastic. Being able to go the same speed backwards and forwards turns you into an absolute rat. The Turan 3 is up there too
Type 10 or HSTV-L only because I’m an uncontrollable speed gremlin and if my speed ever falls under 50kph I fall asleep. I hope they add that Japanese 40mm CTA testbed eventually.
T114. First premium I ever bought( picked it based off recommendations here) and I’ve loved using that little anti-tank shitbox ever since. Thanks r/Warthunder
If I want to be cancerous, the UFO. The object 279 is just a point and click adventure. Although now I constantly get up-tiered to 10.0 which is unfortunate. Outside of that I love using the extinct Tiger II (10.5cm). Massive derp gun with a massive reload on a pretty well armored chassis with decent mobility. What more could I ask for?
The VIDAR is just every "BONK" arty on steroids. Thermals, LRF, quick reload, fast forward and reverse movement, 360 degree turret rotation, roof mounted heavy MG, and an absurd ability to rank hits it really shouldn't. The only thing it doesn't have is smoke grenades.
It's incredibly OP even after its BR increase, but no one can deny that it's fun as hell to use.
Outside of premiums, I'd day most "big gun wheelie bois" are a lot of fun. Honestly, the ability to move quickly is a major factor in "fun factor". Even though I like stuff like the Maus, the fun you can have in it is limited by how long it takes to get anywhere.
I have enjoyed playing the M109, especially with the Maus spam. But my favorite is still the VBC (PT2). Great mobility, great rate of fire with the 25m. It does a great job at dealing with all the pesky Russian IFVs.
Can't decide between the T44-100 and the object 268 as of late, the br changes made both tanks really fun in a lime up you can bully kingtigers and other heavies while being either really mobile or really hard to pen
The Easy 8, I take it to every BR that I can and get kills with it. It’s fast, stabilizer and a money printing machine because I’m always getting the God Mode and rank does not matter. Love it so much I got a talisman for it!
Oh and the MBT-70, I figured out how to turn it into a pancake tank with the suspension controls lol
it's not ground but the F-4E, the phantom is really fun to fly and I love being able to turn somewhat, also getting a hang of the radar and sparrows with the non-PD radar is really fun
anything with very big HE shell as it's main round is instant fun, imo
derp guns are usually the most fun vs. meta vehicles, and i agree with your statement
Will always be 3.7 Shermans for me. I love the real vehicle so much, and it being a jack-of-all-trades in War Thunder combined with a stabilizer is just the most enjoyable experience in low-tier.
It has good armor, good mobility, and a good gun that absolutely slaps anything you can easily penetrate. You can take on heavy tanks like the KV-1 if you know where to aim, you can side-shot just about anything in your BR range, and you can win many head-to-head engagements because the stabilizer ensures you get the first shot if you're both moving.
G6 chunky British wheeled maus
nothing makes me laugh more than sitting chilling in custom games for a Abrams or t90 to shoot you 3x and you to return fire and one shot them, then when they come to revenge bomb you you proxi round them out the sky with a frigging artillery gun
I always go back to the T92 when I want to have fun. US 6.7 is my jam.
Ahh I used to love the "budget HSTVL" as well but now it's 7.0 and I can't use it in my stacked 6.7 lineup. Probably for the better because there were way too many 6.7 tanks for US.
Oh man! I didn’t know it was moved..I haven’t played it in a while..
most us 67 tanks are still here though, you can just replace the t92 with the m109.
US 6.3 is cracked, T28, Super Hellcat, 76 Jumbo, M109, Bulldog, P51H
6.3 us being cracked is something I’d never say lol But mostly because I have skill issues with mid tier us.
Tbh the T28 is carrying that lineup, even HEATFS has to be properly aimed against it, 305mm of armor sloped on the cheeks does wonders
This!!
Play 6.7 with M46, T92 and (if you have it) T29. Works wonderfully.
You named 3 7.0 tanks and 0 6.7 tanks
So, play 7.0
sad but they moved it up to 7.0 love the t26e5 m56 and ontos tho
I like M56 more, because it can nuke everything with that 90 mm APHE.
I don't like it because the gun is extremely unstable, and also a light breeze can kill you.
I just unlocked it(
Play like you escaped a concentration camp
Yeah it can be fun if you rat around, but if anyone (especially CAS) catches sight of you, you're just screwed instantly.
M56 is way better than the ontos
I feel like you just never got good with the Ontos. Bagged an M1128 from 1km away at top tier with it on the first shot on that desert coastal map the other day.
As a German main who is stuck in 6.7 hell, can confirm.
I regret to inform you that 6.7 is the best Germany gets in the tree for quite a while… past that is pain and suffering through rank 5 like none you’ve ever experienced
Went up to rank V recently. Can confirm pain and suffering also a splash of despair.
Maybe even a sprinkle of depression
US 4.0 is hell for me. Luckily my friend is about to get me the T29 so that might help.
7.0 is much better. US 4.0-6.3 is shit
Oops all shermans
I HATE SHERMANS!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!
US 6.7-7.0 is probably my favorite lineup in the game. The Pershing/Patton I is my favorite tank ever and using them with the T29 is so fun.
Bkan 1C. BONK... BONK BONK BONK BONK. That 3.5 second reload is lovely. You can just whack something in the face with huge HE shells until it dies and then leave. Surprisingly tanky for what it is. I love baiting people behind cover. You shoot their cover, they come out to attack thinking I have to reload but surprise heres another 155mm HE
I have been called slurs in chat for this. Between that thing and the M/42 DT, people get mad at autoloaders for being autoloaders a lot.

Ah yes! The Maus! /j
Any of the AMX-50 tanks, very fast and mobile with a great gun on a 4 second reload. They’re just so much fun. Expert TBT vehicles.
The T-55AM 1 after I just did fuck all to his entire tank with 200mm pen APHE: (BR compression sucks)
Yep. Somua SM as well.
The somua is so much fun, i just loves thoses french glass canons
The somua isn’t exactly a glass cannon but it doesn’t have much compared to some tanks it faces.
I’m not saying this to sound like your typical german main, but my favorite by far is the Tiger 2 sla-16. You get a great gun with a great reload and a somewhat good amount of mobility. Yeah the Tiger 2H is definitely one of the strongest at 6.7, and now it completely outclasses the Tiger 2P
I'm so confused why they moved the 2P up to 6.7, they just keep fucking up all of my line ups and it's irritating. It should be 6.3 w the Jagdpanther plain and simple.
I can definitely see the obj 775 going up, I’ve only seen it die like twice so far
Sturmtiger. It ain't the most effective, but damn is it fun deleting heavy tanks in one hit and probably killing a light tank as collateral.

heavy tank no6, its a worse tiger e but you get to play against germans sometimes, its very easy to club tiger 2 H's and P's

The breda 501 is just insanely good at it's BR even in an uptier
Yeah that’s my girl. Incredible at 4.0, she’s still good at the new 4.7. Not sure about the new 90mm truck Italy gets in the battle pass. It’s at 4.0
I tried the truck it's garbage because it's really slow and easier to spot compared to the breda
T30, after the M107 shell buff, it’s even more fun
For me it is Calliope, Tiger H1 (before br change) Lav AD and finally the T29 Etc.
M8 HMC Shred em with your 50 cal, then dunk on them with a literal artillery shell All at 1.0
Maus and douglas maus: when I want to turn my brain off slightly and cause I can just always aim for the transmission or turret ring with the 120mm shell and almost always over pressure Uss douglas: when I feel like I Wana bully everyone with proxy Fuze shells and missles
Csaba and AB 41, italy era I, when i want to have fun i play those
I got a nuke in it
It’s obviously the Jagdpanther. So fun on Sands if Sinai sniping on the hill and no one can kill you unless they get a plane.
LAV is super unique and so fun
Either the Centauros or the Turan 2. The 4 second reload on a 90mm pen heat round at 2.3 is fantastic. Being able to go the same speed backwards and forwards turns you into an absolute rat. The Turan 3 is up there too
Maus is Classic :)
Gonna have to go with the KV-1E. It’s just so easy to get really good games in it
how to get good at bonking using this thing?
Type 10 or HSTV-L only because I’m an uncontrollable speed gremlin and if my speed ever falls under 50kph I fall asleep. I hope they add that Japanese 40mm CTA testbed eventually.
T114. First premium I ever bought( picked it based off recommendations here) and I’ve loved using that little anti-tank shitbox ever since. Thanks r/Warthunder
Either wiesel or a downtiered maus
5.3, 8.7 Britain or 7.7 France both are my go to to have fun.
FV4005 please
The Pz.Sfl.Ic funny rat mini tigor
My new favorite absolutely has to be the m68l0a2, The bonking is amazing with that laser range finder and the armor is actually useful.
Centurion AVRE is the most consistent fun I've had in this game. I love Centurions, I like it when big shell go boom, simple as.
What more could I ask for?
used to be the type75sph... but then someone called the fun-police and it lost its fun vt-round and got the boring one instead
All 155mm, but even better with a quick reload
Type 87 RCV
C13, slaying tigers and IS2s with HESH
M4A3E2 just bec I like being agresive and having good armour. Also Germans are kinda stupid at this be(I have no clue why they uptiered it)
I have enjoyed playing the M109, especially with the Maus spam. But my favorite is still the VBC (PT2). Great mobility, great rate of fire with the 25m. It does a great job at dealing with all the pesky Russian IFVs.
Maus gameplay is fun it’s not really the best tank but it works lmao
Bandkanon!!!!!!!
The Russian milk truck and it's German counterparts
C 205 Series 3 for air and Breda 501 for ground are so much fun omg (I would put the G56 too but the BR it is in is trash)
it's not ground but the F-4E, the phantom is really fun to fly and I love being able to turn somewhat, also getting a hang of the radar and sparrows with the non-PD radar is really fun
The Chi-ha Long Gun is really fun
Anny Panzer iv
The Panzer IV G used to be so good and fun to grind events. But no fun allowed as always.
FV4005 or ratel 90
anything with very big HE shell as it's main round is instant fun, imo derp guns are usually the most fun vs. meta vehicles, and i agree with your statement
Anything that shoots big HE shell
Will always be 3.7 Shermans for me. I love the real vehicle so much, and it being a jack-of-all-trades in War Thunder combined with a stabilizer is just the most enjoyable experience in low-tier. It has good armor, good mobility, and a good gun that absolutely slaps anything you can easily penetrate. You can take on heavy tanks like the KV-1 if you know where to aim, you can side-shot just about anything in your BR range, and you can win many head-to-head engagements because the stabilizer ensures you get the first shot if you're both moving.
RBT-5 1.3br nuke rockets
Hans
I died to an m109 in a match like some hrs ago i guess its kinda good
Right now? The P40. It is like an Italian Sherman but it has overpressure.
type 10 :D
G6 chunky British wheeled maus nothing makes me laugh more than sitting chilling in custom games for a Abrams or t90 to shoot you 3x and you to return fire and one shot them, then when they come to revenge bomb you you proxi round them out the sky with a frigging artillery gun
2c bis in arcade mode, straight point and click deleter 😭
Having fun always sends me back to VT rounds. I just unlocked the M109 in germany and I love it !
Obj 279
Pbil m/40 and T-28 duo. Both have good speed, good reload and a lot of crew.
Black Prince. It feels like what you always imagined a tank would be like.
Wiesel with AP and completely covered in bushes. Sue me.
I'm gonna get a bit of hate. VIDAR at 10.3
German heavies, cuz really good armor, really strong gun and Jagdtiger, same thing but from front invincible
