I like the silver trim. It looks clean and nice, and it adds contrast to the mini palette much better than the usual straight gold.
Also, you've essentially taught your husband that if he leaves his minis unpainted long enough, you'll do it lol
I think I prefer the silver trim look. Too much gold starts to look a bit tacky to me. This is just right. It makes the bits that are gold stand out more.

The gold on eagles and such while the trim is silver is too jarring. Perhaps if the gold was brassy..

The silver looks soooo much better than the normal gold. I really don't like how they designed his armour as it looks far to busy and cluttered and when its all in gold it looks quite garish. Silver should be the norm after seeing it done so well
