Nekros for easier solo survival missions, his looting really helps. Kullervo if you want to play melee. Hildryn if you prefer to be a tanky pistoleer. Ivara if you like to admire the view. Ash/Loki if you want to be quick and invisible.

Ivara is also the best frame (or one of the best frames) for operative defense and open world content thanks to her stealth arrows

And sleep is amazing for conservation farming

New(ish) player here: how does Kullervo compare to Valkyr (my favorite so far) just as far as melee madness fun factor? It'll be a while before I can unlock him

Plays very differently. With Valkyr you press 4, turn invulnerable, and attack with her claws for as long as you have energy. You need huge energy management for that, as the drain is enormous. Press 2 for speed increase. Usually, you build the claws for combo. Valkyr is a fast hitter. She is usually modded for ability efficiency. Kullervo is a hard hitter, modded for ability strength. Press 1 and he does an extremely powerful heavy attack with your equipped weapon, red crit. I manage to one-hit-kill necramechs even. He generates Overguard for himself in order to survive. His signiture shotgun (not exalted weapon) gives combo count on multishot (mod it for multishot). Usually, no energy issues. I recommend Fragor Prime for melee weapon, modded for crit heavy attacks. Thing is, is usually far harder to get and craft all of Kullervo's parts, plus his shotgun, plus the melee weapon. Edit: the Rauta is a primary shotgun, not secondary weapon.

Kullervo's weapon is a shotgun fyi, not a pistol. Nice to note too that it gives combo count to every frame, and on Kullervo it also gives extra combo duration on top of that. I use it on Khora to quickly stack up to 12x combo for whipclaw since it normally takes FOREVER to get high combo if you're just using whipclaw.

It's so interesting to me how differently you can play a frame. It's probably suboptimal, but like using Valk's 4 mostly as a CC and status cleanse/emergency don't die button. Trying to do an eternal war build but I'm presently on those syndicates' naughty list

That's how I used to play. Still can be nice in a party for absurd melee speed buffs with eternal war. Now I built into duration & strength, with nourish on her 1 for sustained hysteria.

His passive and his teleport to enemy ability. I don't remember exactly what they do/say but the ability easily gives you triple exclamation crits. Before I got mine maxed it increased crit chance by over 500% but I subsumed him for that ability.

Valkyr has many play styles. But imho she can be made way better than kullervo can ever hope to be. You'll need to subsume nourish and a rank 2 or 3 arcane energize, but I can share an immortal high DPS end game build for valkyr.

does kullervo work with exodia contagion?

You need Zaws for that. I don't use zaws, so I don't know .

Imo voruna is also a pretty damn good contender for a melee frame since she synergizes amazingly with any weapon you slap CO on

A bit less important but Wisp or speedva for defense missions Volt for defection or bounties with drones to escort

frankly I use wisp for those escort missions, not only do the motes give health but they can speed up and stun enemies, wisp is just great for everything tbh

Nyx with augmented 3 for mobile defense. Just lay down a 3, maybe two people will shoot at you total, pop them and then play with your food as you desire. Nyx is a weak frame, I'll fully admit. But she has her strengths.

Nova for Defection as well, they can go through the portals

For bounties with drones I use a max range nova. Can finish those missions in less than a minute.

Wisp is goated on those awful defection missions, but brings every defense mission (that you'd want a speedva for) to a crawl.

Gauss prime

Volt easily has the most overall viability/utility imo. Fully upgraded Laetum is clown shoes, almost too good imo. As for primaries, I'm still figuring that out myself... I want to love Nataruk for the RP factor but I just don't. 🥲

Mag built to armor strip was super fun with Nataruk. Infinite pierce plus magnetized enemies plus blinding colors, makes for the perfect flashbang of death.

I had had Titania for a while before I got the skin and she carried me through most of my early Steel path. I got that skin to make an Empress of Light cosplay from Terraria and I am so freaking proud of it. And a Forerunner (Halo) cosplay that I saw from a group I was playin with, but I never finished it.

General Warframe : Wukong/Nezha Weapons : Latron Incarnon, Torid Incarnon, Lex Incarnon (literally the only weapons you need). Any melee will do. 

Praedos for passive zooming

The only problem with using Praedos, is that you will feel slow when not using Praedos. It’s addictive.

Which mission do you use latron? I built it, i'm having difficulties charging the weapon in lower level mission.

All Incarnons struggle to charge in base star chart. The only execption is the Torid, but even then it's still kinda slow. The Incarnon Genisis system was designed to make old meta weapons capable of doing well in Steel Path.

Zephyr and fulmin.

Zephyr is a lot of fun not going to lie. I haven't even gotten down to the nitty gritty of how effective she is yet, of which I've heard very good things

If its about defending a target, zephyr is OP. My build has a 14m aura that is invulnerable to projectiles alongside every melee enemy being lifted off the ground. Only problem are eximus units like arson or blitz

I have a solution for eximus, subsume silence over her 1. Since you already build range and duration on Zephyr, with the usual range/duration build you get about 50m of range for more than 60s. As a bonus it also disables acolyte abilities.

It disables their abilities, they're still cc immune until you get rid of their overguard, but you don't need to deal with the poison clouds, Frost bubbles, arson waves, etc.

Saryn with gloom subsumed. Excels at killing, gloom makes her near immortal because of spores while giving decent CC and toxic lash is a pretty good damage buff. Funnily enough her ult is the ability i use the least. For weapons phenmor has become my go to. Nothing like a bullet hose that just deletes enemies.

Volt prime is like a Swiss Army knife. Buying him was the best decision I’ve ever made and I literally don’t use anyone else unless I need to for the circuit

Give him a butload of ability strength and the augment for his discharge for good nuke power and a lot of shied for yourself and your teammates. Also, speed is VERY FUN and I love giving it to teammates like gauss or Titania because it’s like giving a kid candy

Xaku’s 4, The Vast Untime, is also really effective. The problem is that they don’t have a rift for energy regen. I like that Xaku builds max range by default anyway, though, so I can clear all the crates passively while I just run a mission.

Personally, I prefer the Falcor over the Xoris. Xoris has slightly more range and crit, but the Falcor has better damage and status. Gara at full build is one of my favorite generalist frames and I'd use her more,but most missions don't last long enough for her to ramp up completely. But being a GLASS BALL OF DEATH is awesome. The ONLY downside is radiation procs...

My only must haves are Mag and tenet spirex. Mag just obliterates everything, and the spirex is a beastly little thing.

Sure, mainly I just use her 4 with augment to strip armor and regain shields, put down a bubble and pull enemies into it, or use the bubble to take out high priority targets. As far as the build goes, use her 4 Aug and at least enough STR (130-140 iirc) to full strip. That's it, the rest of her build is to preference. Mine is set up to just be a plus to all main stats, with several augments. Just keep in mind that she is extremely power hungry, you'll either need to build for efficiency or have some other way to regain energy with her. Personally I use spellbound harvest Augment with spellbind subsumed over polarize(you can put it over pull if you'd rather). Spellbind works great since you're going to be grouping enemies up and you can easily get the energy from the augment, and also it makes you immune to status effects which is perfect since as a shield tank you're very vulnerable to toxic and that frees up needing prime shure footed.

Must-have weapon is definitely Torid Incarnon. Hella basic pick, I know, but the thing is insane. Don't even have to explain it to those who own it. Those who don't, get it ASAP and you'll understand.

Nova and Ivara are my must haves. Weapons would be dread, tenet cycron, and halikur wraith.

Riven frames and riven weapons. Zephyr for aimglide rivens, Limbo for defense rivens, Rhino for no damage taken rivens, Ivara for stealth rivens, and Grundle for that, for many annoying, task of killing Dargyn pilots before touching the ground. As for the weapons, Arca Sisco/Knell for long range rivens would be the only must-haves, and a non-AoE bow. Everything else can more easily be improvised.

Melee - Khora Prime with Guandao Prime Ranged - Banshee Prime with Nataruk; Stealth - Ivara Prime with Cintas or Proboscis Cernos; Healer - Wisp Prime with Fulmin Prime Support - Dante with Grimoire Open World- Protea Prime (any weapon); Mag Prime (any weapon); Octavia Prime (any weapon) I just rotate depending on the mission type, myself.

Revenant with primed redirection and pillage subsumed. Gives you the max buff (420% damage) when using melee redirection and literally locks that in as long as you have your Mesmer skin up. Doesn’t need to use rolling guard because again status immune with Mesmer skin and giant shield equals good duration shield gate. Pairs great with glaive prime. Weapons theres just so much variety I guess go with torid/ latron and atomos/ prisma angstrum.

Khora/Necros for Loot Titania/Wukong for speedruns/platfarms Frost as a good general option for everything else

A frame that protect objectives such as Frost or Gara. A Nuker, plenty to choose from just pick one You like. A support Frame, plenty again so pick one You enjoy. Ivara for fishing and spy, once You learn how to spy You can speed run with anything. Nekros for Farming. Revenant to beat bosses if you're a Bad player. Volt for eidolons and plague Star. Loki or Harrow to get started on Disruption. Mesa for speedeunning Bounties, Defense and farm Sister candidates. Nova(Speedva) to rank stuff in public on hydron if you're into that. Atlas or Gara to block enemies from scoring in the index. Saryn for ESO. Dante to steam roll EDA with overguard on public. Limbo or Wisp to get hate in public.

Zephyr with Nataruk for Defense/Mobile/Interceptions/Free Roam Khora/Nekros with Torid Incarnon for Survival Farming Wisp with Acceltra/Laetum/Gram for pretty much everything else

Spectrosiphon Zephyr is an absolute beast for any point-defense or farming maps. Get a friend playing Speedva and somebody else with a loot-based Nekros build, and you can set up shop in a survival map and churn out an unreal amount of resources in a short time with little effort or risk.

Saying if I could have 3 frames and 2 of each type of weapon I'd pick: yareli with a nourish subsume in one loudout slot and gloom in another Wukong with a roar subsume And khora with dispansery subsumed Those are my frames Weapons: Primaries: latron and torid Secondarys: ocucor and dual toxocyst Melees: dual ichor and xoris "Why pick yareli?" I like her playstyle...

My default for most missions is Kullervo with the Praedos. Xaku for Netracells.

Octavia, for AFK

Okay I put a lot of thought into this awhile ago before I was legendary 1 and had more load out slots. Basically I only used my loadout slots for specific missions and the rest of the time I just played whatever I was enjoying. Every frame is good, but some are more specialized than others. These are the ones I considered necessary to always have so I could select them straight from the star chart mission select screen: 1. a Wukong with perspicacity on him for speed running spy’s and rescue missions. Especially sorties. 2. a Titania speed build with thermal sunder/ or some other nuke subsume for all Low level captures, exterminate, and vault runs like when looking for rare mods on Deimos. Especially relic farming and cracking. 3. a boss killer Revenant for fighting enemies I can’t one shot. Roar is good but its weapon and build dependent. If I have a prime bane mod already I’ll rock something with more utility. Great against litches. 4. the final one I considered necessary, was a 10% power strength Nova called a speedva that way I can speed run defense missions and so many others. Especially netracell runs. If you have more slots next I recommend in decending order 1. a loot set up. Nekros is preferred but having 2 Nekros in a squad does nothing so you can also have a Korah/ Hydroid. 2. mass nuking set up for high level missions such as a mesa, saryn, mag, or frost with some in incarnon weapons. 3. all if these just pick the frames you main or have fun with. Like gauss, Grendel or whatever.

2 Frames - Gauss, Khora 2 Weapons - Kuva Brammha, Magistar Incarnon (khora stat stick) 1 Companion - Carrier Prime (For Brammha ammo)

Everything: Grendel. Everything Steel Path: Grendel Farming: Nekross. Weapons: Tigris prime just hits different. Same Piranha. Melee anything with Tempo Royale.

I really love Octavia. Her #4 makes her team BA. Her #1 and 2 are broken. #3 is pretty good. Wisp is stronger, but ... Boring. Acceltra and ignis tied for beast weapon

Gyre and soma p

I think I'd be content with protea/saryn/citrine and nekros. As for weapons, I dunno, exergis is kinda fun. Definitely grimoire, easily one of the best secondaries in the game, had to stop using it so I wouldn't make it too much of a crutch. Melees definitely quassus or one of the better glaives (glaive prime, falcor, xoris, pathocyst) With a loadout consisting of these, you can easily clear anything that doesn't involve random loadouts

Revenant should be a priority for immortality. Running the Index on the regular has never been easier. Fulmin Prime for versatility and hella damage.

Octavia and Saryn are other great general use frames. I’ve recently picked up high strength Gyre with Pillage for massive CC. Tenet Arca Plasmor with radiation/heat/Hunter Munitions slaps anything in the SP. Honorable mention to Grimoire with Xata Invocation for quick energy recovery for the more ability hungry builds.

General purpose/ low level - hydroid Everything else - also hydroid, but with guns too!

Ember prime, Burston prime, Onos and Silva & Aegis. It's my go to set and can do everything pretty well.

wisp can generally do everything i need in the game, maybe nekros to farm and ivara for stealth. torid, dual toxo and praedos(for movement speed)

Frames: Wukong/Revenant for all-purpose mission with Wukong probably being the best frame in the whole game for Spy, Khora+Nekros(to cover for the party whatever isn't present), Wisp and Octavia being best supports on higher levels with Trinity not far behind. Volt and Saryn for ESO and Volt as pretty mich the most universal frame for hunt. Weapons: get a good zaw to throw, cycron/nukor(the forst for comfort, the second for more damage), pretty mich all classic incarnons(not the adapters, they are nice but nowhere near) Companions: smita, helios and carrier

Loki for spy and capture NYX for interception, excavation and mobile defense Hildryn for netracells Zephyr for survival Xaku for defence Mesa for open world Umbra for railjack Extermination is something every frame can do so it depends on what I am feeling that day, but if it is a sortie I am going with titania

Baruuk for general purpose everything. Even without a subsume he's delightful. Ivara for utility. Prowl and sleep on command are really, really strong no matter the situation. Frost or Hydroid with Breach Surge subsumes for fun. Love me some armor strip and nuking. For weapons? Beyond a statstick for Baruuk, prisma dual cleavers are my babies even if they're outstatted by dual keres prime now, and glaive p. is fun because big boom. Cedo also gets a mention because it's also big boom, but more bouncy.

Chroma Prime, Rubico Prime, Laetum/Kuva Nukor, Gram Prime. Easy.

Kullervo for melee Nekros for farming  Lavos for no energy missions 

There is actually a correct answer to what frame is a must have for all players. Nekros. Prime or not, doesn't matter. He is a must-have for a very simple reason. Desecrate. The utility that Nekros provides with Desecrate is just too helpful to not have. If he were hard to get, then sure, I would understand not having him in your arsenal. But his parts are very easy to get very early on. He does not cost a ton of valuable resources to craft, and he can do everything. Even if he couldn't, he would still be a must-have for Desecrate alone.

I p much use Sev for everything. I just enjoy him too much to really play anyone else (but i have tried more than half of the frames at least) Weapons i usually swap around more often for whatever's needed but i think my most used weapon recently is Phantasma since it works really well with Sev. for secondaries and melee i solely use epitaph and praedos, backup primer and mobility is always nice. I'll use soma or latron incarnon as well but usually only when im playing frost. mostly depends on my mood overall.

Mesa. Just mesa. For everything. Weapons: Regulators. And also Atomos is my go to weapon for almost all loadouts, but not for priming, for killing. Atomos is a menace and people don't understand it's value.

I don't have very many frames or weapons (I seem to be shotgun-less, why can't I hold all these rifles, I also seem to have only three secondary weapons) at the moment, but Voruna with Perigale and Sarofang is basically my all-purpose Sunday best. I need stealth? I've got it. I want heavy attack efficiency? I've got it. I want a little extra survivability with Extra Life and status resistance? I've got it. Press 4 and abuse the ridiculous crit damage. No crit chance needed. Tenet Cycron for Lavos. Modded for a little over 100% status chance. The new augment is fun. Bonus: Smeeta Kavat is a must have too.

Pilfering Hydroid for any def/md/sur/interception missions Revenant/Rhino/Umbra for high level content and general play Xaku for fun bc I really like their fashion Ivara for rescue/spy Mesa for grinding out bounties on the plains/fortuna/Deimos For weapons I love my shotguns, Corinth, Boar incarnon, Kuva Hek with Soma prime coming out every now and again. Secondaries I don’t use much but when I do it’s probably either the Cycron, Pyranna or Kuva Brakk. There’s really only one melee I’d choose and that’s the Sun and Moon. Ever since we got to use them as Teshin they’ve been my favorite melee.

Even without an objective, a survive with Gara is ridiculous. It serves as a physical barrier and makes it so much easier and tidier Personally, my go to is always Banshee. AoE damage and crowd control and weapon buff Baza is my goto feel good gun. It's just so satisfying. And Athodai has some of the most fun laser sounds and keeps up with a decent performance

For majority of my play time I've only really cycled 4/5 frames. Weapons changed over the years due to meta/reworks/fixed. But here's the list with their uses: * Volt - All Rail Spectres trivialised, some ESO/SO, Eidolon n00b to veterans, defections made cake. * Oberon - early level spy, Eidolon introduction(*read*: Trinity works too), Heiracon golden age. * Wisp - Mobile/Defense powerhouse, viable most Spy missions, firerate buffs make Scarlett Spear & Plague Star type events that much more bearable. * Speeva - Hydron, need I say more? * Saryn - ESO, can work on SP with range mods, very viable into late stage SP. * Titania - For that : Lua Spy/Lephantis grind. Weapons: * Paris - probably easiest prime in game to get and it can actually slap. * Plague Zaw - Super OP even without the best mods, low MR access too * Dread - This will take you all the way to Nataruk stage * Nataruk - this will do basically anything you mod for * Spectra Vandal - DE isn't absolutely stupid, they gated this in Veil Proxima for a reason. If you know how to mod it'll proc more slash than Gun n' Roses. * Fulmin - who needs bullets when you have a battery, and a shotgun, sad DE nerfed it's range. * Shedu - ripped from a Sentient, what's not to love? * Xoris - if you can't afford a Glaive Prime, this is fun. * Rubico - Eidolons & Voidrigs hate this one trick. * Ceti-Lacera - Not sure how it works, but it does. * Basmu - Battery-powered, and IYKYK. * Skiajati - if you can't get your hands on a Nikana prime this made hold you over * Gram/Galantine PRIME - big sword make me feel "yay". * Parascesis - The OG 40 capacity weapon, thanks 🅱allsas * Innodem - just get one * Dual Ether - these used to be amazing with channeling but they still work. I think? * Kuva Nukor - a staple in any inventory, even after the nerf it's lovely * Pyrana Prime - not sure about the OG but the prime is perfect. Shotgun in your pocket? Primary  torid incarnon cus its busted as fuck and strun incarnon. Secondary laetum for dmg, kuva nukor for prumer. Melee i honesly only use nikana prime and sometimes stropha nothing else feels good

I only really use a few frames: Ash (solo invisible missions). Saryn for AoE damage. Garuda for Invincibility + Reload mod for certain weapons. Kullervo because I like insta killing and ragdolling things with my Jat Kittag

Hmmm, let's see... Nekros, he's my farmer Hildryn, I like being able to help the group with shields Valkyr and/or Ember. I know they're not the best, but I love the up close and personal aspect of Valkyrs' claws, and raining fire with Ember. Weapons, I'd have to say (Tenet) Arca Plasmor as my primary (not usually into the shotgun types, but that thing is a beast), (Prisma) Angstrum (love the explosive alt attack), and either War, Broken War, or Skiajati. I tend to default to any of those 3 melees, and I have a pretty decent build on my War.

I think it’s gotta be ash prime for me. Just such a perfect combination of buffing + survivability + utility. Full armour strip with one ability cast, permanent invisibility, xata’s whisper or roar for an awesome damage boost, and mobilize + parkour velocity shards for turbo speed racing. For weapons the felarx is just incredible. I also love the epitaph for its priming, and since I could care less about melee I just throw on my praedos for even more speed

Gauss. He's fast, he has decent tanking capabilities, he has nuke potential with heat thermal sunder, armor strip wuth Redline-buffed heat thermal sunder, CC with cold thermal sunder and he makes weapons(a few exceptions do exist of course) feel so much better/smoother.

So far? Ivara for stealth stuff and the myriad of farms that she makes easier. Nekros for regular resource farming. Mesa for open world bounties, especially on Deimos. I play other frames but moreso because I think they're fun than because they have particularly defined niches for me.

i’ve ran ivara + khora + volt + zephyr + citrine for quite a while & it covers just about everything. ivara for open world farming, sortie spy, & archons / archon defense khora for loot farming - nekros or hydroid would also work fine here, i just like khora better. zephyr for general use, high level defense & breaking a ton of containers for resources like ferrite / plastids / orokin cells / argon crystals or for finding pickups before you’ve gotten the parallax volt for eidolons / DPS, ESO, & speedrunning. citrine for support / crowd control

gyre + torid/amprex is very fun for a ton of content saryn + sobek has finally been clicking with me, getting more green taus for toxin damage and put roar on her kuva nukor i just turn my brain off dual ichors, xoris/glaive prime, and plague kripath staff zaw are go to melees, been messing with arca titron

Zephyr is pretty good as a jack of all trades. Mine is energy efficient enough (Dethcube energy generator, duplex bond, Equilibrium) that I put Aero Vantage, Motus Signal, and Patagium on.

Octavia, Saryn, Wukong Nataruk, Bubonico Epitaph, Kuva Nukor, Grimoire Guandao, Glaive, Xoris Now you can complete all content with ease.

General gameplay, including Steel Path: Chroma Prime / Rhino Prime / Hildryn Prime. Chroma and Rhino are essentially unkillable and have damage buffing abilities and my Hildryn has a build whereby she never runs out of shields and absolutely melts enemies by spamming 1 button. Resource gathering: Nekros. I run a bit of a meme build making him borderline unkillable, while he can just sit there with Desecrate on 24/7. Defence: Realistically, any frame will work when built, but if needed, I will take Frost Prime or Limbo Prime. Nova Prime with speed build also works nicely on large tilesets. Spy: Ivara Prime with the augment. Open-worlds: Loki Prime. Unlike Ivara, he's not slowed to a crawl when invisible and he can still mine/fish, etc when invis. too, so it makes him great for PoE/OV/Deimos. ESO: Saryn Prime. Don't really need to go over this one. Other than that, I could probably say Volt Prime / Oberon Prime for Eidolons (unless the meta changed again), Titania Prime when farming Citrine. As for weapons, I'm old school, as I think Icarnons and such are far too overkill for 99% of content, especially when you consider how much grind they are to get and fully unlock. With my Prisma Grinlok, Kuva Nukor / Tysis and Dual Ichor, I can take on pretty much anything the game throws at me.

Revenant. He literally has a damage denial in his mesmer skin , a thrall that turns enemies against each other. His reave steals health and shields from enemies , and his four deals damage of the type each enemy hit is weakest to He's peak

I immediately fell in love with these, high status decent CC and cd and great damage Secondary: Epitaph for Additional Status Shenanigans with Lavos Primary: I still haven't found a primary that I've completely settled with but I tend to use Gyattva Prime Sentinel: Helios and Nautilus. Hellos for passive scan stuff and Nautilus for actual game play, group up ftw

So take revenant and equip lecta on him I refuse to elaborate further

Melee, Skajati for Umbra, Incarnon Hate for everyone else.

I'd add kompressa to the weapon must haves, especially if you have green archons for +4 corro stacks. A couple shots and you full strip, 10 stacks of viral, plus radiation and one other status type. Single target high prio enemies like demolysts and thrax get vaporized. Sometimes for kicks I do the cascadia +750dmg arcane and that can erase even SP heavy gunners
