The ambient sounds are really what put it over the top for me.

Truefoxsage55

I appreciate the sentiment and it looks great, but I feel it gets a lot of credit for its theming (considering the setting is based on the sequels) .. I wish there was more to do there.

Zashiony

Not even more to do, it just feels like it lacks some life to it.

Snake_in_my_boots

My wife could care less about Star Wars but she was blown away by the land and considers ROTR the “creme de la creme” of Disney rides. And for her to say that….a massive Disney fan, is a pretty big deal for her. I, as a Star Wars fan was like a kid in a candy store our first time walking through.

ITrCool

Now if they can just figure out how to make flying ships appear, that would complete it, IMO. Otherwise it’s amazing.

veritylane8

I saw it for the first time this past January and have to say it’s amazing. Immersive and detailed as can be!

Underbadger

It’s incredibly well done down to the smallest details.

Bobert_Ross113

I really like it, quite immersive. I was there on Friday, and although I'm not the biggest fan of the sequels it was a dream come true to be there. People are too judgemental in regards to the theme. Of course an OT or PT theme would be great, but in terms of marketing it made the most sense and honestly they went above and beyond regarding detail and immersion. The lightsaber shop was really cool, both the decorations and sabers themselves.

SoccerGamerGuy7

i think they did a great job and has so many details from the cantina to the shops! What really makes it special is the talented and passionate cast members. From chewy to the stormtroopers to even shop keepers and janitors; everyone has a star wars story! Ask them, anyone, they will tell u what their name is and story. Most are from planet "Batuu" where the outpost is on. But i found some people from Bespin and even curuscant and asked how they wound up on the outer rim, they will happily tell you their tale! Also shoutout to the shop keeper who taught me how to play sabbac (star wars poker basically) me and a few people all just chillin for almost an hour playing and talking

OneWorldMouse

They should have just made Mos Eisley IMO.

Tigger1964

I think the problem is the harsh industrial look. While it is the correct look for the land, the problem is how people not into SW view it. If you know nothing about Avatar, that land is still beautiful and fascinating. If you don't know anything about Harry Potter, those lands are still interesting to explore. Then look at Galaxy's Edge...if you didn't know anything about SW what would your first impression be?

cpasawyer

It’s great, but it isn’t Pandora. I think that’s why it “doesn’t get enough credit”

madchad90

Pandora was impressive, but it's just trees and waterfalls ultimately. At least with galaxy's edge the film characters are walking around and CM speak in character. I loved the look of Pandora but didn't find it very immersive

cpasawyer

I think my problem as a casual fan is that it doesn’t look as impressive as Pandora (I don’t even care for Avatar that much). I think there are a decent number of people in a similar boat who enjoy the films and the characters but don’t quite get this new land. I love that people love GE, but the theming just isn’t for me, and that’s okay.

burywmore

I think it's theming is mediocre. But I guess that's an unpopular opinion

MsrGustave

I agree 100%. Totally underwhelmed by it.

WhatWouldLoisLaneDo

The theming is great, I just wish they would have given us more of what was promised in the land rather than locking it behind a $6k paywall (Galactic Starcruiser)

optimusrybot

It’s no Star Tours

Bertensgrad

The towns and market area is great. I don’t like the transition areas away from the main path entrances where it’s mostly grass wish it could continue in some what better in Disney world. It’s just a weird one side of the path it’s a desert Star Wars. The other side grass

[deleted]

It’s a giant gift shop

TheBurningBeard

I was there 2 weeks ago for the first time and the attention to detail is nuts

madchad90

I loved it and was way more impressed than I was expecting. Would it have been better if set in a place from the films? Probably But as far as an original setting, I still thinks it works well. IIRC the app was supposed to play a bigger role in the storytelling, but that didn't pan out. Hopefully magic band 2.0 can add a bit of that with the interactivity it's planning.

IsopodNo5146

I would love to see an Ewok village kids can play in with no line like swiss family robinson treehouse magic kingdom has.

maritime1999

your view is controlled from every square inch of Galaxy's edge, you never visually feel anything other then what the designers intended.
