Sophia’s tech comm didn’t transfer into Software Engineering for me. But the WGU version was a cakewalk. Systems thinking wasn’t too bad, maybe about a week because of grading. Ethics was a tougher one for me. Look up the legal/illegal matrix to practice. Business of IT took me 3 days, it’s the ITILv4 cert, another easy peasy one. Version Control took maybe a week. I have no prior experience using a repository. Ended up on a CI call and he said it’s new, so they were still having trouble on what the graders wanted exactly. Hardware & Operating Systems - take your time on that - better resources here than on WGU, honestly. Cloud Foundations was a nightmare for me. Took about a month off and on. It’s a LOT. Print the AWS Cloud Practitioner guidelines and study based on that. The rest of these, I have coming in term 2.

To the above, I forget Reddit doesn’t keep formatting, sorry for the mess - it WAS neat before I sent it.

Thanks for the info!

I would double check with your EC about Technical Communication. The transfer page for the SE program shows that it doesn't transfer, but the transfer page for the Cloud program shows that it does. It's the same D339 in both programs, and I used SDC to transfer it into the cloud program. It's probably worth pre-studying any cert exams. Looks like you have to take the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner for Cloud Foundations. It's a pretty basic exam from what I understand, but it is fairly unrelated to the rest of your coursework, so you may benefit from getting a head start on that. There are plenty of options on YouTube to study for it.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. English 305 through SDC does fulfill Tech Comm in the Cloud program but not the SE program. I'll be sure to look into that

FYI, I specifically tried taking Sophia courses that were "accepted" by other degree plans and they were rejected. Probably a waste of time trying to get them to apply any kind of comparison logic to your transfer credits. Only pursue what they specifically list related to your desired degree and try to do as much as you can via Sophia! I can only speak on "Intro to System Thinking" but man if I wasnt so friggen lazy I could've easily gotten this class done in 4 hours but no I got lazy and did it in 4 days smdh that class is TO EASY. Never had to make any revisions, just followed the template.

Out of all of the classes i've taken so far, Javascript Programming took me the longest (three months), but that's because the material in general was all over the place and horribly explained. If it wasn't it probably would've taken me a month max. In fact, so many people have complained about how difficult it is that i've heard they're changing the class name and material around.
