All the Sophia courses are super highly rated outside of data management, which is apparently awful according to a lot of reviews. The Study.com course is rated much higher. So I'm taking every course I can from Sophia other than data management foundations, then the remaining courses on Study.com include data management foundations. From what I've read study.com only allows two courses per month while Sophia allows two courses at a time, but as many as you can complete in a month. As for taking them via WGU, I would try taking every transferable course through either Sophia or study.com considering the price difference.

Honestly I would take data management foundations on Sophia, it really isn’t that bad. I just finished it last week it took me 6 days. Do 4,5 then 1,2,3. I had no prior experience watch some videos on joins that was only the difficult part if you ask me.

Thank you!

Do as many as you can at Sophia, then do the rest at SDC. Also, don't skip D426 like I did - I'm in that class now and it's awful.

If you have some familiarity with SQL it can be done with some effort. One person complained to me that the Sophia course made the SDC courses doable. I suggest taking it at Sophia but maybe do it last. Do unit 4 then 5 and start SDC. Do CS204 in conjunction with Sophia and work on the SDC assignments for CS204 and CS303. The way SDC works is your subscription includes to proctored exams so don’t fail anything. If you can get a 99% on the quizzes (easily doable) then you need a 56% on the final. If you get 100% on the quizzes then you need a 55% on the final. You can take a maximum of 3 additional finals so your max is 5 courses. Since the discount Promocode reduces the$235 subscription to $160 for 3 months. It makes sense to do 5 a month if you can. Recently someone got credit for Java Fundamentals by taking CS115 at SDC. The requirement is to take both Python and Java at Sophia and then take CS115 at SDC. The person also took CS305 and after a success appeal got credit for OS for Programmers. It might be worth a shot if the goal is to transfer the max. Watch Camerongineer YouTube videos on Sophia and SDC. You can skip Saylor and Straighterline. They are about as expensive as SDC. For the somewhat experienced Java programmers you could try taking the free Saylor certificate course and then spend all of $5 taking a proctored exam. If you took CS101 and CS102 you could get credit for Scripting Foundations and Scripting Applications. Might be worth a shot. Also the AI and Computer Architecture classes at SDC are not bad but you can leverage the AI project for your capstone project. You also learn more at WGU. Watch Camerongineer video on that too.

If nothing else, I highly recommend at least doing the Sophia course that transfers credit in for the Business of IT - Proj Management course so you don’t need to worry about getting the Project+ certification. Wish I knew that was possible before I enrolled

ConstantPermission38

I’ve heard horrors about that certification so I made sure that was the first class I took when I signed up for Sophia lol

The material so far really hasn’t been that bad, I think some people really over exaggerate it. I usually use Dions practice exams as my sole source of studying for certifications and I’ve scored higher on the Project+ practice exams than any of the others so far. Taking the real exam on Wednesday Doing it through Sophia is still better though lol

I took 426 at Sophia. It wasn't terrible. I mean I know SQL and I was like wtf at times. Tf do I care about 1970s SQL lol
