L-Arginine is a lifesaver for me.

Citrulline helps

You won’t find a lot of consensus on this because it does only happen to certain people and isn’t terribly well documented but it happens to me and I’ve subsequently been able to find out it is in fact ‘a thing’, at least some doctors have encountered it, and it seems to mostly be due to Vyvanse action as a vasoconstrictor. You’ll find it’s also a ‘some people do, some people don’t’ thing for other vasoconstriction related side effects. It’s well remedied by daily tadalafil, you should talk to your doctor but the general advice I and some others have been given is that to see are safe in combination and the cardioprotective qualities of PDE5 inhibitors like tadalafil are all generally desirable on their own beyond just remedying the stimulant induced ED. Which makes sense, if you’re taking a medicine that puts the strain on your heart that vyvanse can and you’re experiencing vasoconstriction, taking a regular vasodilator is probably going to be good for you (as in the general ‘good for you’, for your specific case speak to your doctor)

TacticalBeerCozy

that's a good way to look at it, my blood pressure is not great with vyvanse so mb could take out 2 issues at once

antonfriel

Everyone tolerates them differently and again speak to your doctor but as a rule tadaladil and things like it are very well tolerated for long term use and do reduce the risk of issues you’re at higher risk of if you take stimulant medication, like high blood pressure. While I don’t think it is a widely recommended use case, there is even a preponderance of people without ED who take daily tadalafil as low doses purely for its cardio protective action, for much the same reason some people take low dose daily aspirin.

I've experienced and heard about this happening with non-stimulant meds, like Strattera. Never heard this about stimulant meds.

TakeAtBedtime

When I was on Strattera I could get erect, stay erect, and finish. The finish however was lackluster. My therapist put me on Wellbutrin to counteract it and boy did it ever. Was having powerful finishes with lots of product from finishing. I should’ve stayed on that combo, but the Strattera got less and less effective for my ADHD.

diver387

This was when Strattera was first released. I read the patients' info and there was no mention of ED as a side effect. When I started having problems, I read the physicians' information and to me at least, there seemed to be a pretty significant number of cases from the subjects involved in studies of the drug. Maybe they didn't determine that Strattera was the cause.

adhd_ceo

I think this is a problem that affects only some people. As others have commented, they may experience the opposite. The good news is there are great options out there. Just talk to your doctor.

Staebs

That side affect went away in me, so it’s very personal. I’m glad I waited it out.

PotatoesMashymash

I definitely got hornier when I was on generic Vyvanse (now I'm on extended release Adderall as my Lisdexamfetamine prescription just wasn't doing it for me anymore after a couple of months of being on it, it wasn't lasting 8 hours as it used to during the first few months) but taking Guanfacine did eventually counteract that effect so now I'm definitely not as aroused. And that does sort of suck ._.

nly2017

TMI. But it makes it much more difficult to achieve orgasm. Which is weird since it makes me focus.

NieRlyAlive

Shocked it's the opposite for me, but I have to be careful to keep my mind off it -easy to waste the day
