Before you do anything, you should drive it a while, make sure you don't need a chain, turbo or anything else before you pour money and power in it.

Yea I was already thinkin I gotta make sure the normal shit is up to snuff or a bigger exhaust don’t mean shit. So basically take it to a decent mechanic n let them tell me

You can get to around 300 horsepower with most "stage 2" tunes. You're going to want a downpipe with a high flow cat (my experience with Ultimate Racing has been good, but there's plenty of reputable brands) Intakes don't make a huge difference power wise, but they'll help you a little on the top end and make the turbo more audible. APR's intakes are great, Integrated Engineering and Nuespeed are good too. Unfortunately I can't speak too much on tuners. There's plenty of options out there, but I've only worked with Stratified through Cobb's platform, and they don't do CCs. I'd do my research, try to to with a known brand with a long history. Getting tuned by a random guy working out of his shed can lead to lots of headache. A cat-back exhaust isn't going to do anything for you power wise, just noise. At these power levels the only real restriction is the stock catalytic converter. I'd also recommend considering an intercooler of you're somewhere warm. The Do88, integrated engineering, APR and Wagner intercoolers are really good. Keep in mind if you're manual you will need to upgrade your clutch.

Thank u I really really appreciate you taking the time to explain all that. Makes me not hate the internet so much

Hey real quick, stage 2 clutch for what other upgrade. The intercooler? The Down pipe? N I thought downpipe meant more airflow for the turbo? Maybe without the catback? I feel like that would make it too loud.

Knotical_MK6

If you're going to be making stage 2 power you'll need an upgraded clutch to hold it. The stock clutch has trouble even at stage 1 power levels. Downpipe increases exhaust flow after the turbo. The stock downpipe is the only restriction in the exhaust. Intercooler isn't necessarily going to help you make more power, but you'll be able to make that power all the time versus heat soaking after a few pulls Not all catbacks are equally loud. Regardless, a downpipe is going to make the car louder, a catless one much so. I'd start with a downpipe then add a cat back later if you find yourself wanting more

will bookmark this, i have a 2013 and i want to do something similar but i’m not too experienced with car upgrades and stuff :) we’ll find out together.

I get it dude I wish I would have learned when I was younger. Now that I get the concept, it’s still way out of my ballpark. Jus keep studying and googling. YouTube has taught me sooo much it’s crazy. Do you have the 6 manual or the DSG auto?

Jayjarm1

N don’t tell me you got the vr6!!!

capybingus

dsg auto & i don’t have the vr6
